  1. Yes, that's how I understand it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. While I like Meijer and all, I don't think building a brand new store on the parking lot is the best idea. If Aurora is anything like my town, there are empty storefronts that are begging for something to be done with them. I'm wondering if there is better area in Aurora for Meijer to be built in. They could certainly renovate/build on to existing buildings. Part of me would rather see the property go back to a natural state vs. mixed use. The other part of me still would rather the area to be opened into a small park again.
  3. This makes me really sad.....I can't say that it makes me sad because the park is no longer there but for the fact that I missed my chance to go visit....if that makes any sense. I literally had the opportunity to go twice when I was a kid (I wouldn't have got to enjoy the thrill rides as I wasn't tall enough) but my family wasn't into amusement parks then nor did they want to extend our day trip to Sea World to include Geauga Lake. I sat in the stadium watching the ski-show but my eyes would wander across the lake to the rides.
  4. I did just call Dollywood 1865-428-9488 option 1 then option 3 They confirmed that Passholder Day is March 18th from 10-6.
  5. I'll post here as soon as I know. If they do not have one this year, I'll be fine sitting in the hot tub on the porch of my cabin
  6. Conneaut Lake Park's water park expected to open this summer http://www.meadvilletribune.com/news/local_news/conneaut-lake-park-s-water-park-expected-to-open-this/article_5102eb5e-a2c3-5268-b441-914efe324da1.html
  7. They've done it in the pass and I imagine with this massive new ride they'll do it this season as well. I'm working on confirmation...stay tuned.
  8. Hope you guys come! Would love to see you! Understandable....thankfully the park is giving attendee's a discount on admission for this event even if it's small. If you can justify it (which I suggest trying because I think it's worth it) Dollywood offers easy pay for season passes....$16.50 for 6 months, it'll allow you to visit the park any operating day through January 2017. Plus if you arrive to the area the day before you can get in for Season Passholder Preview and the day after the event, etc. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions...I may be able to help
  9. I know there is another post in a different thread, but this is more of an announcement, place to ask questions and if you feel so inclined to tell everyone if you are attending. Event info: Event Page on Facebook that has the link for registering: https://www.facebook.com/events/1553437898233554/
  10. I'll be in the area the Thursday night.
  11. I don't think it's suspicious. As for the moving of the funnel cake stand....why not move it closer to other buildings plus the moving makes it a shorter walk for the employees to take trash to the compacter (behind the fence under the DB lift). Adding a soccer game to where the WWC entrance/funnel cake stand use to be.....better than leaving a dead zone of asphalt (see Six Flags Great America next to Demon). Moving the entrance to WWC.....makes the walk shorter for the guests, plus could potentially bring ridership numbers/capacity up. Sometimes I think we get to involved in thinking there is a huge reason behind "simple" changes to the park but to me Kings Island is a business and they have to make smart business decisions to improve overall satisfaction for both guests and employees. I'm not saying it's not related to a bigger project or it's not worth speculating over (because I too love to speculate) but sometimes we have to look through the eyes of a business.
  12. I totally agree with the part I bolded (sp?), italicized and underlined! But good god, I miss the enchanted theater! I wish they'd bring that back and kick out the clowns.
  13. I have heard rumors of the park being up for sale soon, I'm wondering if those rumors are true. If they are true, this could be part of the marketing to sell the park. I may be wrong on this, but I've heard that Winterfest in 2005 at Kings Island was a marketing point for the sale from Paramount to Cedar Fair.....could be another situation.
  14. It seems as if Cedar Fair is jumping on the wagon with a winter time event, starting with California's Great America Event Page Here What are your thoughts?
  15. . I agree until we see some fresh paint on The Racer, to me it's unsafe to say if it will be around the next decade or so. What is comforting is that majority of the wooden coasters designed by the great John C. Allen are still in operation today. There is new paint on the queue house (the structure over the entrance to the queue). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. They haven't made an announcement but Winter Chill Out is coming up Saturday where they may or may not announce the removal and what's next for that spot. I'm sure they want to keep some sort of secrecy as long as they can. The removal off the website would likely pan into enthusiasts ruining the surprise more than it already is (if that makes sense).
  17. Sorry for double post....just saw this Well you know a 200' steel coaster, a sports bar, a big tan box, etc. screams 19th century town on the Ohio River too!
  18. You apparently didn't read my post thoroughly. I stated that I've seen a lot of it on Social Media not KIC stating for a fact that the 2017 giga that's going to be placed in Rivertown. I know there are a lot of knowledgeable folks on this site, in fact I know several of them personally. I've been around this site and the Kings Island community for quite some time to know who is more in the know and who isn't as well as who in the community in general has the most accurate information. Also, can you clarify your comment "sorry if you had your hopes up"?
  19. From Kings Island's Twitter pageConstruction on a new #funnelcake location in Rivertown is underway. https://twitter.com/kingsislandpr/status/694012432994430976 Sent from a signal coming out of the Vega system. As I'm understanding this view in the above picture, if you were to be looking at straight on you would be looking toward Diamondback's station, this funnel cake stand is directly on top of the old smoking area. If this picture was turned to the left a bit, you would see the former spot of the basketball game.
  20. I honestly hope they are just trolling....I've seen way to many folks believing that these blue prints are for the 2017 Giga that's going to be placed in Rivertown. It absolutely is according to many folks on social media. Speculation is quite fun, but talking as if it's 100% fact without anything other than a picture of Mr. Decker with blue prints as fact is silly. I'd love to see plans for the improvements in Rivertown for sure.
  21. They have sure been promoting season passes on Facebook and posting pictures of different things as of recently.
  22. More news coming at Winter Chill Out for the 2016 season http://www.wkyc.com/features/cedar-point-fans-celebrate-reported-demise-of-shoot-the-rapids-water-ride/41140301
  23. Too much money was spent on the rock work....I think I remember somewhere the rock work alone cost $3 mil.
  24. I'm hoping to hear the news when I'm up there for chill out!
  25. If you have a Cedar Fair Platinum Pass you just drive through the tolls and present your pass. I believe there is a dedicated lane or two for passholders...pay attention to the signs on the building.
