Each time I open a thread, I'm having no issue aside from when I open the "Coming Attractions" thread. In that thread, there is only one topic that I can see...."flying eagles back?" Confused.

It's never too early to start speculating right? It was recently found that Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation has filed for a trade mark for the name "Shot Rod." Shot Rod was given the description: Entertainment services in the nature of an amusement park ride, namely, a roller coaster with a classic car theme. You can find more information on the trademark here: http://www.trademarkia.com/shot-rod-86570239.html Coaster Crew also recently obtained this teaser during the ACE Eastcoaster event: Coincidence? I personally, am thinking it's going to be a launching RMC coaster at Dollywood. I've also heard numerous rumors that it would be a launched coaster too. What are your thoughts?

But what about The Howler...that's major!

I will tell you, I had a conversation on Monday evening with Mr. Dan Koch about the industry in general. Had a great chat. We did speak about ASA and how it's has been a huge undertaking so far. He told me I had to visit sometime soon, in regards to that, I told him up until he and Pat bought the park, I had no idea it was there. Dan commented to the fact that it was the most neglected and worst reputation park. He is excited for it's future, no he didn't tell me any plans for the future! Lol. He also talked about how much he loves Holiday World, that it was a miracle park. The only thing else he said about the park was the when he lost control of the park he wanted to continue working in the industry. Whether or not you believe Dan is a good man, after talking with him several times over the past few years, I really don't believe the replies to the question if ASA employees would get the same deal at HW, were ill intended. And I know for a fact, that The General (Pat) would not approve of those kinds of posts...because, she too has a Facebook and most likely would have seen his post on his own Personal Facebook and ASA Page. She is too classy to allow for digs.

Yup....meet me there....lol The General is fairly busy prepping her and son's (Dan) park in Alabama. My plus one is a certain animal on this site....maybe an alligator. -
I just wanted to share a screenshot in relation to Fury 325. One of my local news stations shared an article about Fury 325 on their Facebook page and the headline was "North Carolina Park Claims New Roller Coaster Is Highest, Fastest" Facebook Post And well, here's the picture to explain the interesting thing:

Holiday World has invited certain members of coaster clubs. Being on staff for Coaster Crew, I received a nice invitation in the mail for the media day event. I am allowed one other person to attend with me, but they are not required to be a part of a coaster club. -
I know others have shared pictures of the dis-repair of Tower Gardens...but I've been away for a few days....back in 2012, I took this picture in Tower Gardens. I'm glad it won't be as we knew it anymore.

You can't always go off of what your friends say. As much as you trust them, they may not have ended up liking it, because they may have gotten written up for something that they actually did (they may have said they didn't do that), they may not have got the location they wanted, they may have been working with a group that was all drama, etc. As Terpy said, you can't wait for the perfect job to come by...you may wait forever. Jobs are trial and error. Heck, I've worked in food and retail for 10 years, yet, an opportunity came up for a better job, I don't dare say perfect, but I'm enjoying every minute of it. It works for me. Each and every job you come across has pluses and negatives. You have to strive to make the pluses worth more than the negatives. As far as taking fun away from a place you enjoy so much...uh, you would be working at Kings Island! Depending on what department you are in, there are some great things that can happen. If you are in rides...you may get to take test rides before opening, mid-day and at closing. The park also hosts ride nights for the associates (how cool is that?). Your associate ID is a platinum pass.....you can go visit other Cedar Fair parks without paying to get in or for parking! Do yourself a favor, learn how working at KI can be good for you instead of listening to the "horror" stories of friends.
-
Up until lunch, the group is pretty intact. After lunch, there are usually a group of about 20 that go off and do their own things....which is whatever. My first year at KI doing this event, I took 99 laps (was hoping for one more but they ended the event when it would have been my 100th lap) and then last year, I had to get off a few times but stayed around the ride.

Coaster Campout 2015
Creed Bratton replied to jcgoble3's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Hey I did that once....Gatekeeper media day...they opened Millennium Force for us midway through the day. We ended up getting stopped on the lift hill for about 20 minutes. I laid my head back and out I went. Illegally my picture was taken on the lift, (found it on someone I don't even know's Facebook profile), saved it and then asked the person to take it down. Woke up about 2 minutes before the ride started back up. Lol. -
Coasting for kids 2015 Kings Dominion
Creed Bratton replied to APE's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I originally signed up to go to KD for Coasting for Kids my first year...but once I saw that they were going to just have participants fill in empty seats I didn't want to do it there anymore. I contacted Give Kids The World and requested to be placed at another park, went to Dorney Park. Not sure if that's how they will still do things. I hope you do have some fun and raise a great amount of money!! -
I have yet to buy my ticket, I am just below Columbus, in the Canal Winchester area.
-
All I need is a bottle filled with wine or two.
-
Hey the Kool-aid is good!!! I agree though, I hate the seat belts....in 2010 as part of the crew, we were asked by the rides office if we thought the ride could use seat belts...we unanimously voted no. However, we were told if we had any complaints from guests saying their restraints weren't checked or checked properly, they'd be added as soon as possible. However, that was a different time than now.

Yes.....and they are videos of coasters you've known about for years. Or they are coasters that you've ridden and people ask oh my gosh I couldn't ride this could you? Your reply....yeah, it's not that bad.... Hah! Nice! Thrifting up here in Columbus, I haven't seen any Kings Island cups but I've seen a lot of Zoombezi Bay cups for .49 cents as well!

Worlds First Polercoaster

I like the idea.... -
I can ride Monster, but I can't at the same time. I love to ride it, but it also hurts to ride it with my height and my legs get crunched up, so I ride it maybe once a year, if that. I enjoy the flat rides in Coney Mall overall but I think there should be more throughout the park (with the exception of Planet Snoopy).
