  1. I think music can greatly improve the experience of an attraction. I think it's a very underrated element of theming.Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk That may be, but for me personally it does nothing for me. I'm so in tune with music outside of parks that paying attention to it in a park disturbs my "therapy" if that makes sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Would you cross the street to ride Rampage? I would and will this year! I rode early 2015 and it didnt use the MCBR.They seem to flip back and forth whether it is let go at full speed, if it's trimmed, or if it gets a full stop. I havent figured out what warrants a full stop, but unless a worker on the ride or the park releases a statement, I am skeptical to believe that the full stop at the MCBR is how the ride is intended to be experienced indefinitely. I've ridden many times, and some visits it brakes, most visits it hasnt. Last year it didnt (for me) The brakes were on full force in the MCBR during Media Day for Thunderbird. However, that was the only state of grace with the ride. I didn't enjoy the rest of the ride.
  3. I got sent through the detour they're suggestion back in 2011 because of an accident at Jellico Mountain. It was so windy up and down hills......not to mention it was very...uh....rural. Many abandoned one room houses and more. It was honestly quite scary. I'll be taking another route to Tennessee this time.
  4. That's my thought too! I'm going to guestimate and say that the track is anywhere from 15-35 feet from the ground... let's hope no one can throw a ball that high!
  5. I wouldn't consider it pessimistic, rather I've been realistic on other possibilities. Would I love a new shiny coaster? Absolutely. Would I love a giga coaster? Absolutely. Do I believe that movement of dirt is 100% a sign of a giga coaster? No. There are so many other possibilities out in the world of what the movement of some dirt could mean. As far as a greenhouse goes, maybe they either need to expand or replace. As far as I'm aware those greenhouses out there have been around since before the park officially opened to the public. Maybe a replacement one would be built? Maybe not. I, in no way am stating that what I believe to be 100% fact but offering alternate possibilities to the speculation. If you knew me outside of this website, like a good group of folks do, you'd know that I like to speculate for hours and hours. You would know that I can bring out numerous theories. You would also know that I'm no where near pessimistic. You would also know, I say the things I say for a reason. Don't get me wrong, I would love for Kings Island to get a brand new Giga Coaster, but as a realist, that doesn't seem to be the only reason for dirt to be moved.
  6. Looks like my least favorite game is just being moved. Darn! Photo Credit: KingsIslandPR on Instagram Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Yeah because thats what Kings Island does as a business. They move dirt around for fun in places people are never going to go? Maybe they will fill in the valleys by Banshee next for aesthetics? Nice try bud. I never said they're moving it around for fun. Everything Kings Island does as a business has a reason whether or not our feet touch it. If you read through the thread instead of singling out my post you'll notice that I mentioned they could be smoothing out land for another greenhouse, maintenance shed, etc. But because everyone else is assuming it's a giga you have to try to show that my post is flawed and then try to be funny about it. Don't call me bud, I'm not your bud.
  8. Honestly the difference between Rougarou and Valravn's colors are noticeably different in person. Rougarou is much much much brighter.
  9. Valravn is getting closer to completion! Track work should be completed sometime this week Screen grab from www.cedarpoint.com
  10. Great documentary! I honestly didn't realize how deep some of the relationships were between park and Arrow.
  11. Press release speaking about the updates to the park: http://www.indianabeach.com/news#11 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Music in stations/on rides/etc. doesn't even phase me. I'm so in tune with the moment I'm in when I'm at a park. Being at a park, riding a coaster, flat ride, anything to do with a park, is my therapy. I take in the experience. Music can be playing but I listen to the things I can't hear at home, i.e. the ride, the chatter of folks in queues, the restraints opening and closing, etc.
  13. Even if you don't have the plans to go to more Cedar Fair parks, upgrading to a Platinum Pass is worth it in the fact that you don't have to pay for parking ($30 off your total), you can go back to CP throughout the season, if you go to CP twice, it's going to cost you $130 plus tax (the current ticket price is $65 per admission for CP), plus you can enjoy ERT and if you go the right day, you could participate in Passholder Ride Night.
  14. Dang, the NoChicken's Family and I will miss you on Sunday, we'll be at SFOG
  15. That land out there could be filled with dips and ruts....maybe they're filling it all up to, smoothing it out for mowing purposes? I still think it has something to do with greenhouses.
  16. I'll never forget leaving Cedar Point one day a couple of years ago and seeing a Giant Stuffed Gorilla being bungied to the bed of a truck. The gorilla was sitting against the cab facing the back of the truck bed. It was quite humorous. We caught up with the truck a little further on 250 and got stopped at a light. Guess what happened next? It started to downpour. Hopefully they didn't have a far drive because I couldn't imagine smelling a huge wet stuffed animal a few days later.
  17. The Nitro crew at SFGAdv has been really the only good crew I've seen at a Six Flags park.
  18. Absolutely go if it opens! *crossing my fingers* While it's not an amazing park by far, some of the rides offered are worth it, such as Devil's Den, Blue Streak, Tilt-A-Whirl, Paratrooper, Tumble bug and their scooters. There are a handful of other rides but they are meh at best or kiddie rides.
  19. Especially with the weather! It was so nice!
  20. But Nighthawk isn't at any of those parks!
  21. They are a pain. I constantly have to move out of the way of a rolling basketball because someone can't handle it.....as upstop mentioned, they get passed on the midway without regard to anyone else around. Working at the park and in rides, they were always a pain because someone would always complain their ball got stolen out of the bins....people would bounce them in the station adding to the already loud platform making it hard to hear for operations. If a ball gets loose and lands on a coaster track that's an issue (when I worked at the park) the ride had to be shut down to retrieve said ball. They just screw with things. But mostly they are obnoxious. If you look at the pictures of the new stand being built, it's built right over the old smoking area. If it's not moving, I'd like my funnel cake without a side of smoke. I'm sure it is being moved because of state law (having to be a certain amount of feet away from a building entrance).
  22. Several do around here...but they're just not the same! lol
  23. I don't like the fact that I can't put them in a pocket. I also collect park maps as sad as it sounds. I've been keeping them in a Rubbermaid tub that's about the size of a normal shoe box....the sheet ones don't fit in them unless I fold them. Even then it's a pain.
  24. Found out a few winters ago, they are pretty easy to make. How far away from South East Columbus do you live? Make me some? haha
  25. And here I had hoped we lost a basketball game! I really and truly hate those things. I mean they can be good but why do we give inflated balls as prizes? If anything have an inflation station (haha) outside the front gate and let the folks who win a ball inflate them when they leave.
