  1. It would never hurt to attend the jobs fair.
  2. I honestly don't look for Coasting For Kids to return to the park any time soon. I also don't believe it was cancelled due to Kaylee leaving...events like these take planning and I'm sure planning was well underway after 2015's Coasting For Kids concluded. I'm positive that they left the event on the drawing board when another event has been proposed or the decision was made to not continue.
  3. I think some in this thread forget that a blue print can be for anything. As I seem to remember Mr. Decker is from the Cincinnati area originally so it's probably not uncommon for him to be at the park for this or that. Blue Prints don't necessarily mean a certain type of ride is coming. The blue prints could be over the Rivertown changes such as the Funnel Cake Stand, WWC entrance, the new soccer challenge, etc. Blue prints can be just erosion changes that need to be made, pathways changing, general buildings, deconstruction, flat ride, etc. Not everything is a massive clue to the next big coaster.
  4. I'm quite excited for this! I got my first visit ever last year and loved the park. Although it seemed a bit dilapidated it was alright. I'm looking forward to see what APEX is going to do for this park. They've posted a handful of updates on Facebook of off season maintenance and I'm loving what I'm seeing.
  5. I'm excited, will be doing the shoot tonight! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I absolutely hate heights, but love WindSeeker.....it's very relaxing to me.
  7. I can be awkward for feet placement, I can be silly and I have not been shaky...unless my sugar is low, but that wasn't the case when I rode Flight of Fear last!
  8. I dont think Action Theater has been open the past few times I've been to KI. I googled just for a few minutes last night wondering what was actually occupying it now, and it mentioned a movie about dinosaurs? I'm going to assume it's gone by now? I really hope that the building becomes occupied soon. A new 5D movie would be a great air conditioned addition to the park. There isn't a current attraction in Action Theater right now....one side is occupied by a haunt. I can honestly say, I was not a huge fan at all of how the attraction was after Sponge Bob!
  9. I will say, the sofa was comfortable! I really enjoyed staying at the Shaker Inn!
  10. I'll try to answer 1) Yes....I found my last ride (this Sunday) uncomfortably bumpy 2) It launches at about 54 mph 3) Depends on if you open your eyes.....in all honesty, not really. 4) Can't recommend...not a ride, I must ride in a certain seat....more of a sit down and get it over. 5) I am not a fan of it...I used to be....the restraints are awkward for feet placement, the seat belts seem a bit silly since, they don't even cross the person and the ride is more shaky than it used to be.
  11. We had a group ride on Saturday....we asked the ride ops to turn on the band organ and they did! Didn't sound terrible....didn't sound amazing.
  12. Sorry for the double post, I'm now $100 away from my goal with the funds matched! I've raised $650/$1,000 total and $150/$250 for match.
  13. Cedar Fair is moving toward more permanent locations for haunts. The cost of labor to tear down haunts after the season has ended (no income coming into the park) rises, is a huge reason I can see contributing to more permanent locations. Also, think about storage for the haunts....as each individual haunt becomes more and more in depth, more and more items for scenery as well as "rooms" are necessary...where would they store it? I'd much rather see something go into the Action Theater.....riding WindSeeker and Racer, I noticed how terrible the front of the building looks, can only imagine what the inside feels like. The building needs to stay for tech services, but that's just a small portion.
  14. Spoke to Don about the lanyards. They apparently got ordered before final approval and needs. As far as the behind the scenes tours of Diamondback and Beast.....I was in the first group at Diamondback....people just started taking off on their own heading back toward Beast assuming that the Diamondback section of the tour was over, when we were supposed to wait for Sarah (the Event planner) to say it was time to switch. The hard thing with that is, The Beast photo areas are further back than would be for Diamondback, making it harder for them to see everything if they were rushed. On top of coming back, that takes time. I felt many were very impatient....but when when the people I ended up being around during The Beast portion, took their sweet time to get those "good shots." It's a double edged sword. Overall, the behind the scenes tours for me were good. I had a great time during the ERT sessions!
  15. The No Chickens family (lol), myself and a friend will be visiting the Saturday after Coastermania at Cedar Point...shall be interesting.
  16. I don't normally post everywhere asking for donations, but I'm so close! I have a friend who is matching up to $250 after I raise $500 (which I have). I currently have raised $105, bringing my total to $605. I need $145 still and the match offer ends on the 24th. If any of you are willing to donate to Give Kids The World Village please donate here: http://support.gktw.org/goto/chugh4388 Thanks!
  17. Honestly, I can't remember. Hah! I noticed it this year too, but it seems more unlike a cell phone tower, because it has several "boxes" on it....maybe part of the Wi-Fi infrastructure?
  18. I am 99.99% positive Dinosaurs Alive is under a 5 year contract. That being said, a group of KICers went through on Saturday late afternoon and we were quite disappointed with the upkeep of the dinos. Several dinos are covered in what looks to be mold....some of the dinos that are close to the path, you can look in the mouths of the and they are not in the best condition, some with epoxy (spelling?) showing where they've tried to fix things....some of the "skin" wearing off of the "horns", etc. Overall, it's an interesting exhibit, but not something I see sticking around for much longer.
  19. Amen! Just conversation starters!
  20. Seems like monster is down for a bit! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Headed to the park very very soon! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. http://m.bizjournals.com/louisville/news/2015/05/12/ed-hart-kentucky-kingdom-must-retain-its-edge-but.html?r=full Who knew Ed liked moms so much. Apparently a "new" coaster for next year, whether it is Twisted Twins or something else, who knows. By the way, if you don't abide by the rules "we'll kick you out of the park." Also, they are prepared to take anyone to court. Hmm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Note I said one answer: guests.....didn't say there couldn't be more than one answer lol!
  24. I saw that in the email this afternoon and about jumped for joy lol!
