I got ya! My post was not only to you but to others, as this park has not seen some TLC in quite some time and I'm excited to see the updates of the park! Cannot wait to see how you enjoy your visit when you go. I am the same way, paint doesn't generally make me excited about a ride. I love this little coaster though!

Can we stop talking about funnel cakes...now I want one I'll be excited to see how this stand turns out!
-
I really hope that the maps this year aren't those large sheet style. I want them to be pre-folded (sp?)!

The white train is as well! I stated that the White and Red train were on the storage track at least a page ago. Awesome....I decided to respond to TheBeast1116 and let them know they were missing something.

The white train is as well! The tweet that announced it said just in Rivertown. I'm assuming it's going in the old funnel cake building location based on congestion. The old basketball game is gone. While there is a good space there, it's not what I perceive as deep enough to support kicking a soccer ball. Plus with guests walking literally right in front of that area, it may be harder to deal with there. The Funnel Cake Stand spot is a little further back off the path and the area it's opened up seems to be deep enough to support the "field" and an area for spectators. But it's pure speculation on my part.

I'm about to buy my pass now.

As far as deals, it depends on what you're looking to spend $ on. If you don't have all season dining on your pass I'd suggest getting an all day dining pass. That may be better than spending the full $15 some a meal. Really there aren't any rides to be missed...if you are up for a beating, Mean Streak will give it to you. If not...skip that. It really depends on what time of the season you go for best day of the week....but generally I think Tuesday-Thusrdays are great to go. If you stay on property, be prepared to spend a significant amount of change. If you are not willing to spend a bunch, stay at America's Best Value Inn (off of Route 250 in Sandusky, by Walmart). While it's not the most amazing hotel, it's older, but well kept up, water pressure is amazing in their showers and it's affordable. It increases your drive to the park but it's worth it I think. Gator can testify on this too. The cost is really determined on what you want to do, what you want to spend and how you go about it. If you don't have a platinum pass and have to buy admission, be looking to spend $65 per person to get in the park alone. The round about answer on cost also depends on how many days you stay up there. Fast Lane I think is worth it, if you're only there one day. To get everything done and to enjoy yourself you'll need one. But if you are there multiple days....meh. Soak City? I'm not personally sure. I've never visited the park. I've not heard bad things....I've not heard good things. It's a typical Cedar Fair water park. Rumor has it, it will be receiving an upgrade in 2017.

I'm just excited for a lap bar versus those straps that I pop a shoulder out of place when trying to put them on. -
I imagine if the pass processing will be open on the 17th, but probably for limited hours. Your best bet is to call the park to confirm. If you do, post here and let us know

All you can drink souvenir cups valid at every CF park
Creed Bratton replied to WindingSon's topic in Kings Island
I received an email back at 10:45 pm tonight from Jason McClure, Cedar Point VP/General Manager. This is what it said: Christopher, Thanks for your feedback. I will share with appropriate members of our team. Glad you enjoyed the Winter Chill Out. I hope Tony delivers the same weather next year. Take care. Jason McClure Whether or not it goes further or gets looked at anytime soon, I'm thankful to get a response, thankful that Mr. McClure took time out of his evening at home to email me back at 10:45 pm. -
It's shut down due to multiple reasons, bed bugs, fire codes, chlorine vapors, general dirtiness, food service violations, improper water filtration, etc. I've seen dirty diapers laying around on the floor in the water park. It's just very very dirty. The resort has received a grade of "F" from the BBB. I read a report that the waterpark was open on NYE, where the guests were in the water and said it was colder in the water than it was outside. From what I've gathered the folks running it didn't really know what they were doing. Quite sad....it doesn't help that the resort isn't in the best part of town either.

All you can drink souvenir cups valid at every CF park
Creed Bratton replied to WindingSon's topic in Kings Island
Wasn't sure where to put my post, so I figured here would work! First let me say I'm a fan of all season drinks. I think it's nice paying one price and not having to worry about paying more later on for drinks. However, I'm not a fan of carrying the souvenir cups. While yes, they're great souvenirs, I find them a pain in the rear end and even more costly than priced. I think about the rides where you can't bring your cup to the station (I'm talking Cedar Fair chain wide, not just Kings Island) you have a handful of options. One option, buy a locker. The locker usually gives you a couple of hours for a few bucks. You can choose to stay in that area or go to another area (but have to make it back within your time frame or you have to pay more) thus costing you. If you go to another ride that requires a locker, that's more $ out of your pocket. Multiply that by multiple visits. You potentially would be paying more than it cost to purchase a new souvenir cup just in locker fees. The other option is hiding your souvenir cup somewhere you'll remember to get it. The potential problem with this, is theft (which also can happen in bins on rides). If you bought your all season drinks cup I'm assuming each person would want a cup, so you'd have to buy a replacement cup, potentially adding to the cost you already put into the original purchase. The third option is to leave it with a friend. That is assuming your friend is willing to not ride and watch your cup. That to me is really the only down fall for this option, as your friend may not get to experience some things that you do because they're holding your cup (that is assuming they don't want to ride ___). So where am I going with all of this? I spoke with Jason McClure at Cedar Point on Saturday after the presentation the park gave about the upcoming year. I had said, first want to thank you for everything we've seen today, you've shared and more. I have a question, I know that the system in parks for all season dining when implemented all that was needed was some coding and an option to be added to the MICROS screens for Season Passes to be used to "purchase" food at each location that is offered on the plan. I am wondering if it's possible to add the option for all season drinks. Where you just scan your pass so you can grab a drink instead of having to carry around a souvenir cup." He said that's a great idea but he can't make that call. He encouraged me to email him, the park and corporate with the idea if it's something I would like to see. He said that's the best way to have something added/evaluated for the parks is to make direct contact with a sort of paper trail. He then thanked me for my idea and told me again to email him. So, if it's something you'd like to see, email KI, Cedar Point, Cedar Fair! -
Someone of importance mentioned when asked about Coasting For Kids that the event wouldn't be back but there more than likely would be an event later in the year that is more of a "reunion" type event that till will benefit GKTW but that's just for Cedar Point. The person said that the other parks may hold separate events later this year too.

It honestly could be the building of a new greenhouse, maintenance shed, something related to operating the park but not for guests exclusively. They could be smoothing out that land for that.
-
In the above picture, it seems to me like it'll be the same type of stand as the one on International Street. The only difference really here is that it's being built from ground up where the other was built onto a structure. I'm assuming you'll enter one door, go through the "queue", go to the counter and state what you want and exit out the other door.

It was also mentioned in the maintenance shop stop of the tour that Skyhawk would be getting paint and seat upgrades potentially this year or next. I missed the timeline. -
I think it was. Unless there is something major you won't hear of it being a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's not just the lack of netting, look at the space between footers, tripping hazard I would presume. You underestimate being hit by something from a coaster. When I worked at Diamondback I got hit by a flip flop. Yes....a flip flop. I had a nice flip flop size welt on my back for a few days.
-
It may have been....it's been a while! But I do know it was not in a place where guests could see it.
-
Self insured or not....there is a risk of having guests in that area that I wouldn't think would be the best to take. Nope...the footer you are speaking of was back by the hammerhead.

I think having the season long dining is well worth it. If you are there enough, having 2 meals a trip can easily make your purchase well worth it. You'd soon be eating for "free." The selections have been good and the food hasn't been bad. It's better than shelling out $15-20 anytime you want to eat at the park. I do wish there was more of a snack option though for popcorn, funnel cake, etc.

Fully agree! There is some room there but I don't see anything going there but a fence. Although I would consider that area a low zone and for guest safety/insurance purposes I'd want to keep guests out from under the helix.
