I've read it somewhere else too, but can't find it, it was on social media, but not sure where exactly.

I meant the complete opposite. So if I wrote it that way, my apologies. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I unfortunately cannot share due to 2 factors, one, I have been asked not to and two, the source has taken them down.

It's not just KI that is doing permanent structures. Parks across the chain are. Look at Cedar Point, in the past few years they've added Hexed, Slaughter House and Eden Musee to their houses already in permanent structures. Halloween Horror Nights and KI are in completely different markets. They cater to more regional folks coming for more and more scares than people coming from all over looking for just a few good scares. Could you point to how the resources are spread too thin? Quality is kind of a relative term.....what you may see as quality I may not see as quality and vise versa. I do have to agree with you there needs to be a rotation of houses. I'm quite tired of Urgent Scare and the clown one (I don't even care to properly name it as I can't stand it).

VR coming to 9 Six Flags Coasters
Creed Bratton replied to marth555's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Just thinking out loud here: Do I think VR is cool? Yes Do I think VR on a coaster is cool? Can be...but seems gimmicky. Do I see multiple health related issues happening because of VR on a coaster? Yes.....such as a protein spill, sanitary cleaning of VR headsets not being cleaned properly, etc. Do I see potential safety hazards due to VR on coasters? Yes. Do I see VR drastically improving a coaster experience? No. Do I see VR making people want to ride a coaster? No. Do I see VR as a short lived program? Yes. No longer inside my head: I feel like there are going to be more issues with VR on coasters than not. We've all spoke about potential issues throughout this thread already. I just don't feel like this program is going to be around long. As of right now, both Cedar Fair and Six Flags are planning on having VR on at least a few coasters within each chain. What we haven't seen is whether the VR option will be an upcharge or free to anyone who wants to use it. When Cedar Fair tested at Canada's Wonderland guests wanting to ride with the VR had to sign a waiver (http://newsplusnotes.blogspot.com/2015/10/canadas-wonderland-testing-virtual.html). Nothing has been stated either on CF or Six's side about signing waivers to do so.....but I'm wondering if they do, is this only an 18 and over thing, since under 18 shouldn't be signing waivers without parent's permission? We also haven't found out how the VR head sets will be checked out and back in? Imagine someone getting off a ride and just walking off with their VR headset. I also am wondering how the VR video will sync with different seats on a coaster train. I imagine myself wearing a VR headset in the back of Diamondback (not saying Diamondback will have VR) and if the VR headset is synced through the train will my screen show me looking down as the front car starts staring down at the drop while my car still rises to the crest of the lift? I am also reminded of the old VR "stand" in Coney Mall that used to be where the ladder game has been in the past. Why didn't that stay around? Was it not popular enough? Was the cost too high? Did people get sick? Many thoughts and ramblings....but I do wonder how it'll work and how long it'll be around for. -

I believe there is a 20% discount for Breakers with a Platinum Pass. You can upgrade however many passes you like, but to save you $, upgrading just yours would work fine. Then parking would be free. Early Entry is complementary with all Cedar Point properties. I personally think having a Platinum Pass is great especially if you go more than one day to the park. Plus, you can go back whenever you want, even if it's just a day trip. If this is going to be your only trip to the Point, since you would be going on a Saturday, I'd suggest a Fast Lane if you want to ride more than a small handful of rides.

I want to say 2 is what I remember (I think) I heard at the ACE Christmas party at KI in December.

The event will be fun no matter what! Dollywood is a great park. I had a blast last year at the park by myself (my family was there but they don't do rides). Just being in the park, experiencing it was way fun!
-
I've seen other unofficial pictures and talk but since it's unofficial I won't share since the park has asked Coaster Crew not to share any official information about the ride until they do.

I have heard rumblings of the testing process is happening, but nothing official. So hopefully the rumblings are correct.

VR coming to 9 Six Flags Coasters
Creed Bratton replied to marth555's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
According to the FAQ (linked earlier), riders will be able to put the headset on and adjust the straps while still in line, so no I can just imagine, someone putting the VR set on in line, looking at the VR screen or whatever it's called, continuing to walk in line and will run into stairs, fall, trip, etc. -
I understand folks worry on Lightning Rod not being open on time. It's the huge draw. But, the park has to do what they have to do to get it open. If it doesn't open on time, I'm sure the park will make up for it for the Coaster Crew event. They aren't the type of park to say, sorry....you're out of luck. Keep your eyes open and watch for updates.

No worries! Cool news like this sometimes deserves to be mentioned a few times.

As far as Millennium Force and TTD, it really is more about your waist than upper body. I've had struggle to get my belt to buckle on those two, I'm around 230lbs. But my waist isn't huge. I honestly found tightening my belt and bringing the coaster seat belt over my belt is easiest to get buckled in. I also believe Millennium Force, TTD, Raptor, Maverick and Wicked Twister have test seats available still to try them out before getting in line.

It's kind of hidden...you have to actually enter the IR stairwell to get to the elevator.

The one with the white tower on the left of the facade is pictured, and that's the same one that was demolished. I was confused about the angles at first too.I think, unless it was structurally unsound, Kings Island had a missed opportunity to simply put the queue inside of that building. Roughly the same amount space, prettier to see than canvas coverings, more western inmersion, could've had some theming or Diamondback factoids inside.. just a thought. You are so correct! I didn't look at the panoramic shot that actually showed the tower portion of the structure. The other picture I looked at was more covered by trees. Aw I miss them. I agree with you! Missed opportunity.

I-75 in Tennessee Closed (again)
Creed Bratton replied to Oldiesmann's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Echoing this, this is one of the only major arteries to Tennessee. There are not many other routes. The detours aren't really meant to handle as much traffic as this closure will send. -
I may be wrong, but I'm thinking the Rivertown Mining Company is actually where the Diamondback store is currently. If you look at :23 seconds you'll see the water game that is still currently there...the game to the right of the screen was removed for Snake Pit. Just my thoughts, may not be correct. Lol. Edit- Well it looks like the water game will be gone this year to become a Coca-Cola Refill station. See source for more info.

Would you cross the street to ride Rampage? I would and will this year! I rode early 2015 and it didnt use the MCBR.They seem to flip back and forth whether it is let go at full speed, if it's trimmed, or if it gets a full stop. I havent figured out what warrants a full stop, but unless a worker on the ride or the park releases a statement, I am skeptical to believe that the full stop at the MCBR is how the ride is intended to be experienced indefinitely. I've ridden many times, and some visits it brakes, most visits it hasnt. Last year it didnt (for me) The brakes were on full force in the MCBR during Media Day for Thunderbird. However, that was the only state of grace with the ride. I didn't enjoy the rest of the ride. Not during TB media day. It was my first ride on Voyage that day, I noticed the MCBR when I went back later in the year. I was very disappointed. Sent from a signal coming out of the Vega system. They were on full when I rode early on in the day.

Going south should be good for those folks heading down to Dollywood. http://www.wlwt.com/news/state-awards-emergency-contract-for-tn-i75-rock-slide-cleanup/38277750?utm_source=Social&utm_medium=FBPAGE&utm_campaign=News&Content+Type=Story -
