Nice video! Starships are such beautiful rides at night!

I'm fine with the station not being extremely full but I'm not fine with one train wait waiting to board. Most stations *note I said most* can hold at least 2 train waits.

Banshee down more than most B&M coasters?
Creed Bratton replied to Oldschool75's topic in Kings Island
At one point it was 15 miles, I believe. Gatekeeper was down quite often it's opening season, at least the visits I made (5 or so). It wouldn't open with the park, it'd go down mid-day. There was a video at one point of it going down because it had struck a Sea Gull. These things are big machines, I'd be more concerned if they didn't go down periodically. -
Yet, KI posted on that same Facebook page, August 22nd "A sure sign that summer is almost over: Daily operation ends this Sunday." The person knew how to post a review, so obviously they knew how to check out a Facebook page....they apparently couldn't comprehend what daily operation ending that coming Sunday meant. I smell a troll.

I would rather have a coaster that is good than have a bad coaster just for the sake of tradition. I'm not saying, I don't want say Mean Streak re-done or another rough wooden coaster re-done. I'm saying, I don't want RMC to come in and make Mean Streak something like Meaner Streak, a "hybrid" coaster. If they completely change the wood out,add a steel track and a new layout, it's no longer the previous ride. Will I ride an RMC coaster, sure....but I'd rather it be from the ground up a new idea rather than billing it as a previous ride that's been refurbished. If that makes sense.
-
But it got a "makeover" in 2011 with WindSeeker..... I agree with you, that end even though we have a big swingy ride, now, looks dead.
-
I don't see Cedar Fair working with RMC anytime soon, nor do I want them too. Keep the wooden coasters wooden. Keep the steel, steel. I am guessing a Floorless Conversion on Mantis. If anything I've heard from a source in the park, whether true or not, Mantis will be closed after Labor Day. I can also see a Dark Ride happening finally.

I am thinking it is a Mobius Coaster too. Don't know if it goes through each side in one cycle. In one of the videos it showed another set of trains on the tracks, so that'd be hard to figure out which two had passed through the station twice. Not much is out there from what I've seen. Which makes me sad. I think they were marketing more toward the WOW factor versus here's the facts. Which, sometimes is cool but other times, not so much.

I wish I could renew my Platinum Pass on Kings Island's website instead of Cedar Point's (the pass is from there). My card is 3 seasons old now and it looks like junk. Plus, if I want to get a new picture I have to go to Cedar Point for it. I'll most likely be at Kings Island again before Cedar Point.

Great trip report! Hope you had a blast, despite the rain and crowds.

Cedar Point HalloWeekends
Creed Bratton replied to Ride On_17's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Never mind, I should have grabbed a screenshot. At the bottom of that page, was a link to the rides, the picture for that section was of Diamondback. Edit: Still had the page opened -

COSI -- Columbus PTR
Creed Bratton replied to bkroz's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I absolutely love COSI! It's an amazing museum. I had never went to the old one despite living in the area. I've spent many hours at COSI and in the Adventure Exhibit. -
Will Diamondback always be the tallest at KI?
Creed Bratton replied to skylar.heizer's topic in Coming Attractions
I disagree with the whole ridership would be killed on Diamondback if a Giga were added. As Terp stated: Two Words: Canada's Wonderland. Leviathan and Behemoth both have comparable lines. Diamondback and the possible Giga would offer different experiences most likely. It's too early to judge a future project that hasn't even been announced nor hinted at. -
Ark Bible Park In Kentucky?
Creed Bratton replied to Coasterkidd23's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Either way, I won't ever visit. Even if all the signs point to an amazing park. If they wouldn't hire me because of sexual orientation (not that I was hoping to apply and work there), then they don't deserve my money either. -
I love the entrance plaza! It will leave a good first impression on the park. I'm wondering if the same company that did Cedar Point's entrance plaza will do this one too. Love the coaster, it reminds me somewhat of Leviathan but this one may sneak to #1 on my list whenever I ride it. Wondering if the eyes on the bee will light up in the Fury 325 sign. With these B&M Giga Coasters, I'm loving the look of the lift and first drop!!

Ark Bible Park In Kentucky?
Creed Bratton replied to Coasterkidd23's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well looks like I won't be visiting this park. I'd rather not spend my money on admission to a place that wouldn't let me work there because of my sexual orientation. I'm wondering how could they get a tax break with denying employment based on sexual orientation. Are they exempt from Non-Discrimination/Equal Employment Opportunity Policies? I hope this really bites them in the butt. -
You hope! No employment is guaranteed until you fill out the paperwork (and even then there's a small chance it won't be guaranteed)
-
You are correct. However, I was talking about those saying Kings Island NEEDS this thing and to do this etc. My statements didn't come just from this thread alone.
-
Okay, so this is stuff you all want either individually or collectively as a small group. In this case want and need is something totally different. Sure I'd like to see the themed areas back but I doubt if they refurb any areas they will include everything enthusiasts say the park "needs." Theme as we used to know it, is a thing of the past. Touch ups such as KD getting candle apples and Singing Mushrooms are the likes of small changes I believe we will see in the future at KI. Even Canada's Wonderland isn't "themed" much. Medieval Faire is about as themed as you get there.

"Cirque Imagine" at Kings Island!
Creed Bratton replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Most Live-E shows stay for two years at KI, I believe. I would be shocked to see Cirque not return next year. I'm wondering if it stays around that the show will be Cirque Imagine or if it'll be something like Cirque Dimensions.
