  1. the picture would have been better with Snoopy folding a shovel and clearing a space with tag: Snoopy is working hard to get KI ready for you ...
  2. I think season pass holders could get 12 of the 15, 14 if they had a kid (reptar and lil bills giggle).
  3. well if continues to snow like this, then this is what the inside of the park will look like I believe that may be on the way to boomerang bay but not for sure....
  4. Yeah SOB does not "feel" fast to me, out of control maybe but just not fast. A coaster that seems fast (out of the ones I have ridden) alpengeist, beast (at night) the helix just is crazy for me, and (you all will laugh) the final turn of top gun
  5. I could see The Beast being Bad Company.......
  6. Thank you kind sir. For some reason my brain could not grasp the original comments in your first post.
  7. Again terp sorry for being a pain but you have to restate that so my brain can understand it. It may be because its late or because I am watching the olympics but how does having the original wood help in re-engineering it at a different site? If you are buying to rebuild a ride elsewhere wouldnt you just need the engineering plans? Not playing dumb just trying to figure this out.... Would this scenario be the same idea if a wooden roller coaster burns to the ground and the park rebuilds it? Same ride right?
  8. Oh I understand this scenario is still playing out and is different, but as you said most of the wood is replaced when a coaster is moved. If the wood is replaced why would the buyer want the original wood, or is it that the old owner does not want a bunch of old wood laying around?
  9. so wait from reading one of the articles, they will use some of the original wood to build patios? Since the wood would not be re-used, or most of it, how is that still the same ride? Why wouldnt the buyer pay for the "name and design" take the trains and just get rid of the original wood? Forgive this dumb question but do many wood coasters make the move from one park to the other with all of the original wood? Now CoasterBuzz says the rest was demolished http://coasterbuzz.com/news/11550/zippin-pippin-demolished-after-partial-collapse.aspx
  10. haha Im way too mellow and my apologies if it sounded like a threat. I wouldnt do anything but family members of people I work around would do more than threaten.... just a little pet peeve of mine. People are way too smart to show a lack of education by calling anything "Gay" or "retarded"....... ug..... going to go calm down now... back to the topic...
  11. Just remember two I use! Sorry if I offend anyone, but I'm not trying to mean it on a rude way. I call Avatar "Avatard" and Runaway Reptar "Runaway Reptard." And there is one other but I know I'll offend people and get int trouble so I'll just keep it to myself... Oh and also Tom, Reptard makes me feel sick too, who would think a kiddie coaster would do that! And yes, Dramamine works good. If only I had it for ERT on Diamondback during RWCW! actually you do mean it in a rude way. If you are using it to describe something as you dont like it then its no better than calling it "gay." I work with developmentally disabled and just by grouping anything bad or dumb in the "retard" group you are putting down an entire group of people.... so stop, before you really P off a guy who has a developmentally disabled person in their family and they decide to take out there anger on your face....
  12. That sort of the problem with Paramount, imho, if each park was getting similar rides it makes going to that park less exciting. So I can see that each park needs its own unique flair...
  13. go gaga on their wizard sticks? man that article actually made me not want to go to IoA....
  14. that may actually be one of my favorite rides at Universal... again I have not been back since oh 96? maybe around then. They were building Islands of Adventures at the time. And by building it I remember walking along a boxed in corridor and look out and seeing mud..... Plus Spider Man and Hulk were in the regular park and a behind the scenes tour..... oh the good old days....
  15. oh terpy......... gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  16. wait that is or was Dudley Do Rights log flume ride.... Dudley Do Rights Ripsaw Falls? right or am I way crazy? change of name?
  17. dumb question is ripsaw the Dudley Do Right log flume ride?
  18. Im sorry KICers... I had to vote for the one I thought was the best, Griffon \ but it doesnt seem to matter since Bizarro has almost a thousand votes
  19. well talk to your library help because they may be able to point you in some direction also. Many subscription services have some deals worked out with academic institutions...
  20. haha i worked at a camp for young men (who may or may not earn some sort of cloth for achievements) in the Cincinnati area and we (the staff) thought they were selling camp shotglasses. Nope they were "toothpick holders" so maybe its a WWC toothpick holder
  21. thats a brilliant idea. I think if I remember the ol Surf did that where they honored the KI season pass, in an attempt get people to spend money there. Then when Surf closed I believe the Beach honored their passes. So it would be interesting to see a "trade in your 2010 Kentucky Kingdom pass for a free KI pass or upgrade to gold or platinum for a small fee" You give a family of four free passes to replace the ones they have spent money on. You know you have a solid amount of money coming in even if they only visit the park one time.... a little good will goes a long way... either way a sad day for KK
  22. it looks like on the post card they did some editing to get rid of the Dominion on the right side. it looks like on the left side would have been too hard to change the name (cheaply) when the post card was made
