Original WDW Monorail Car on eBay
shark6495 replied to jcgoble3's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
The EV-1 is the star of a very interesting documentary called "Who Killed the Electric Car." According to the EV-1 owners, GM took back all of their working vehicles and crushed them. GM says there was a battery safety problem. The battery company says they were safe. ... -

Maybe a modern family resting area?!?!?
-
And now I just figured out that before Tower Gardens it looks like it was partially/wholly the area for the Inflatable Theater?

Thats true. I guess what I meant is more the type of trees. Maybe you want trees that blossum more or give more shade or smell a certain way. I totally get you on the mature tree part though.
-
On the other hand, new trees can be planted. Trees can and often are removed to be replaced by something that works better for a look, feel, or situation. What was in Tower Gardens before the Paramount Story? I only remember Paramount as my earliest memory, more so the Wayne's World Car is what I remember.

the Wired article said it has already been on some of their boats. I am going through the process of planning a trip not just for me but for the entire family. All 6 adults and 2 kiddos under 3. The process to get them linked would have been perfectly seemless if I would have just waited for my sister to create her account, instead of me creating it for her under my name. We have all 3 reservations linked. I am able to get us all meal reservations, we have a schedule of when some things are. I dont think it takes away any spontaneity from our trip, or at least not yet. Im excited to try it down there in the park.

and it aint over. when the going gets tough the tough gets going...

I would be incredibly sad if AE was ever taken out. It is my last memory of my friend Jess. It was summer 2002 and I heard her yell my name as we set off out of the station. We get back into the station and wait for her and her friend. The 4 of us hang out and have fun for a few hours. We talk about seeing each other during the fall of the school year. I dont remember if we did or not, Im sure we did. Next thing I know this is in the paper http://enquirer.com/editions/2002/11/06/loc_fatal06.html and I am attending her funeral. But I still remember AE the last time we hung out. I would be incredibly sad when that ride reaches its end.

I'm going to guess the seat belts had less to do with capacity than the assigning of seats, sending out not full trains and overall train operation.

Agreed a two or more hour commute is probably not worth it to a 16 year old. But most jobs you will have to drive almost 15 mins each way as it is, seems like the other 10/15 mins for a summer job you will enjoy is just the cost of doing business. Heck if you don't count Bridgewater falls (near where I live) you are looking at about a 15/20 minute drive to most "part time job opportunities) as it is. KI is only 30ish because 129 dumps out into Mason. But if Tylersville is busy it is almost 40 min drive

^They are not screaming in joy, its pain from having the restraints go Mike Tyson on their cranium.... As for revamping/removing AE, it is for a certain group of riders. Some times that group moves on and goes for different rides but there are new riders being born every day for that ride...

30 minutes is a cake walk. Heck its almost a 30 minute drive for me to get to the park as it is now.

Something to be decided at Reds Grill? PHilly Cheese Steak? Count me in! -
Perception is such a cool thing. I think thats probably why the multi-colored dress was such a big deal. Reminds me of how I hated Outer Limits when I was younger because my head banged around inside the harness. So I felt like it was a horrible ride. Now not so much. Same with Vortex as my head does not slam from side to side as much, I wonder if that changes the way I interpret things.

Makes sense. Sort of/really sad though. Some of the best circus moments are when the Elephants come out. Its the only time in my life that I can get that close to a giant. I feel that Ringling does it right by their animals. I was just at a different circus this past weekend and the animals looked much more worse for wear than the Ringling animals. Now I know I need to go to a Ringling Circus between now and 2018 just so my son can see them one more time up close.

lol many of us have grown in various ways in 15 years, I'm sure! I actually shrunk by about 40lbs since then. Congrats! I am struggling with weight right now, so anytime posts something good like that, its worth a huge congrats.... I wonder about roughness as a psychological thing. 15 years ago, the steel coasters in the park were King Cobra, AE, Vortex, Top Gun, and Outer Limits. Not smooth in the transitions and somewhat rough. But 15 years ago they felt good. Now we have Diamondback and Banshee which by all accounts (except for a few) are buttery smooth. Could it be that psychologically we interpret it as rougher than it was 15 years ago, only because something smoother came along? While the wooden coasters remained the same because there is no "rougher" coaster. Heck maybe to even explain why The Beast seems smoother is because in our minds eye, the coaster is out of control and tough to ride? Maybe?
-
I also find the drive home from KI much longer and more boring that I did 15 years ago (and currently I live 15 mins closer than I did 15 years ago). Shark who has grown in more than 1 way/direction over 15 years that may or may not have affected the ability to enjoy a coaster....

BUSCH PARKS: BLACKSTONE, now what?
shark6495 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Mine was more as a reason why people dont look things up. Seas should do everything it can to self promote and counter-act the negativity. I said from the beginning that the way this was handled was a huge mistake. Immediately following the Blackfish Premier or before it, Seas should have had multiple press conferences about what it is doing and how it is doing it the right way. Talk about how things are going to change, talk about the bigger tanks, etc. By getting out infront of the media mass hysteria Seas could have made the Blackfish documentary look tame/poor. Have the President/CEO/COO of Seas standing next to a Penguin answering questions. Have him sitting on the edge of a pool with the whales in the background. Heck show the footage of them rescuing whales from shoddy companies. Instead we got press releases.....
