  1. That is the one bummer about HW, from mid June through the first two weeks of August the park (esp. Splashin' Safari) is often too crowded to enjoy, IMO. As far as KI goes, I have only been twice this year so far but both were weekdays and both seemed significantly more crowded to me similar days last year.
  2. My first experience getting stuck on a coaster was at IB as well. Thanks for the great TR!
  3. That return run looks like airtime city! I wonder if this will have one or two trains.
  4. ^And a really nice water park it is. Better than either of its two Ohio counterparts IMO.
  5. My first roller coaster was also the (then) Beastie in 1991 when I was six. I came off white as a ghost and didn't get one another roller coaster until my family's trip to WDW in 2007. Rock n' Roller coaster got me hooked and I have been riding ever since.
  6. A picture is up on ACE's facebook page of the next few track pieces/supports...it's not a zero-g roll...and it may or may not be an inversion. IMO, from that photo it does appear to be completely upside briefly. Pic: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151884726330576&set=a.10151884701990576.872593.125717780575&type=3&permPage=1
  7. I doubt you will have much of an issue with crowds on a Wednesday. Unfortunately the park has become a bit run down the past few years and has lost much of the charm it had six years ago. I honestly havent eaten there in years but the taco stand by Lost Coaster is the 'signature' food offering. That being said, Cornball Express is an AMAZING ride (best in the back imo) and Steel Hawg is cool little ride too. Lost Coaster and Tig'rr are both fun for what they are. I found both Galaxi and Hoosier Hurricane to be just so-so though I know there are those that love both. The swings out over the water (I believe they moved them back this year correct?) are a must. The Den of Lost Thieves dark ride is a bit cheesy but in a good way. The only tip as far as order of rides would be if you see Lost Coaster is open, get in line and hope it doesn't break down before you get on. I hope you have a good time!
  8. I found Wild Eagle to be 1000x better in the than in the back than in the front and while I love Shivering Timbers in any seat, I think the back delivers a better ride. It is really interesting to hear everyone's opinion on all these rides. Love topics like this!
  9. June was the second driest month on record for us here in Indy.
  10. I think he is referring more to the change in management and their focus on family attractions, rather than saying that there will never be another giga coaster. Ouimet has stated repeatedly that he wants to focus on families. I would expect to see more family coasters, dark rides, water rides, water park expansions, etc. over shiny new giga coasters. That being said, the only publicly confirmed new rides for next year are both coasters, the new GCI at California's Great America and Cedar Point's wing rider. I would expect those to be the two biggest projects next year as far as thrill rides go.
  11. I too loved Wild Eagle, the first drop was far better than I anticipated it would be. The inversions through the middle part of the ride are just plain fun and the ending helix was surprisingly forceful. Great ride with a great view. Too bad they were only running one train the first day. I waited through a full queue on my first ride and it was only about 45 minutes. Glad to hear you had a good time, thanks for the TR!
  12. I couldn't narrow it to one. - The roll after the launch tunnel on Hulk - The first drops on Cornball Express, DB, Millennium Force, and Wild Eagle - The 5th drop on Raven - The drop out of the turn around on Shivering Timbers - TTD's launch
  13. I actually like that it slows down there, gives the corkscrews great hangtime.
  14. There are some photos up on www.midwestinfoguide.com. The roll is not completed in the photos but the last piece of installed track does appear to be completely inverted.
  15. In so many ways, CF is not Disney, nor is it trying to be.
  16. Apparently it was tracked today and it is in fact an inversion.
  17. The site is just dirt and survey marker's at the moment, vertical construction is supposed to begin in August, though there is some wood for the coaster in the parking lot.
  18. ^^Seems logical to me, why would you test something like this on a busy day? Starting on a slower day lets you work out the kinks while affecting fewer guests if things don't go as planned.
  19. If its only 50,000 posts we should consider ourselves lucky.
  20. I went to Soak City for the first time ever last friday and I have to admit, I was a bit underwhelmed. Perhaps I have just been spoiled by Splashin' Safari, but there was something missing from Soak City that I couldn't quite put my finger on. While I understand why they do things like making people get out of the lazy/action/packed in like sardines river after one lap, it really takes away from the overall experience. Perhaps it was the fact that the park was insanely packed, but the park just didn't do it for me.
