  1. I realize that Skyrush isn't a giga but it does have round footers, for whatever that's worth.
  2. Yeah we just made the same decision!
  3. Sounds like its packed! Hopefully you'll have more luck ride-wise next week.
  4. ^Not to knock B&M or Kings Island in any way...but you really felt safe getting on a ride like Diamondback thinking it was only inspected every couple of years?!
  5. I really need to get back down there! Thanks for sharing your trip with us!
  6. Disrupting our daily lives and making us live in fear is the goal of those who perpetrate these acts of terrorism. If we all cower in fear and refuse to go on with our lives then these attacks have taken far more away from our nation as a whole than just the precious lives lost on Monday. We have a responsibility to exercise the freedoms that our sons, daughters, fathers, and grandfathers fought so valiantly for. The cost of freedom is a great but I believe that our ability to overcome tragedies such as these is even greater.
  7. The park has posted a POV of the first test run. Looks like a great addition to the park, I really wouldn't mind seeing something like this at KI.
  8. How would less people at KI ever be a good thing?
  9. That is going to look awesome flying over the front gate! Can't wait to ride it this summer!
  10. Has it been stated whether the CE retrack is with topper track or traditional wooden track?
  11. Even if there wasn't its not like it would be difficult to make it happen.
  12. I also think its possible that having Beast on there is a one year stop gap. I personally think Firehawk was a great choice.
  13. It has been speculated elsewhere that the seatbelts and leg restraints were added at the park and not by B&M.
  14. According to Screamscape, only when needed. All of the parks with WindSeekers will have these. Source
  15. I had the same experience with Maverick after the first ride I was very disappointed. After the second...not so much. It is my #1 overall coaster now. I will readily admit there is a learning curve to Maverick and a completely understand people that say great rides shouldn't have to be ridden a certain way/time/seat/etc.

  17. ^I think Kinzel took all the red paint with him when he left.
  18. Judging by last year I think it is still possible to have a fun day at the park without purchasing Fast Lane. Does it take a little more planning? Perhaps. But most of us posting here know when to go to avoid the biggest crowds and what order to get to rides to make the most out of our days. Is Fast Lane fair? No. But it isn't meant to be. It is meant to milk more money out of those that are willing to pay for the service. As has been mentioned above it is an increasingly common practice in multiple industries. I am more than content to avoid the busiest of days and enjoy KI and MA without Fast Lane (though I did indulge at CP last year and will again this year) and let those that splurge pay for the improvements that we have seen the past couple of seasons.
  19. I second both the train ride suggestion and the praise for the food! The cinnamon bread at the Grist Mill is amazing as well. As for the coasters Mystery Mine seemed to have the slowest moving line so if you do not use their (extremely reasonably priced) quick quay I would try to hit that up first. Wild Eagle is a people eater as is Tennessee Tornado (as long as both trains are in use). Hope you have a great time!
  20. I think the bigger problem that they will face is the fact that a lot of the patrons seem to have migrated to Holiday World the last few years. Splashin' Safari is (IMO) vastly superior to what KK is now and it would seemingly take years to bring it anywhere close to on par (if that is even the plan). Now there is little doubt that some (perhaps even a vast majority) of those who live in and around Louisville will give KK a chance next May. But how many will go back after that first visit? Can Hart assemble a team that can match the perceived value of HW and level of service that the Koch's have in Santa Claus?
