  1. I wonder if the light fixtures will actually light up at night. It'd seem like a waste if they don't. They could even make them flicker on and off at random times to add to the mystique and suspense of the ride ahead.
  2. Photobucket has a limit on bandwidth. I'd recommend imgur.
  3. Also, I'd like to share that I too hope they reinstate the colored lights in EXtreme Skyflyer and Slingshot. I don't remember seeing that, but it sounds really cool. Does anyone have or know of any pictures that you could please share?
  4. I understand there are reasons. I'm just expressing what I and most others on this site want. And... um ... darn auto-correct.
  5. Unfortunately, the coaster that needs it the most is once again left out. I would understand that The Racer can't be done due to finances and other reasons, but how many rides/coasters have been painted that are in a better shape? Just paint The Racer already!
  6. Don't we already have several topics like this? Ah, yes. Here's one: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/28076-2015-talk/?hl=2015
  7. Of all of my pet peeves (and there are many), "sneak peak" may be the one that annoys me the most. Who in their right mind decided that "peak" was an acceptable alternative to "peek"? I will always use "sneak peek", for that is the only PROPER spelling.[/rant] Looks like you may have got to Don. The original tweet can no longer be found, but there is now a tweet with "peek" used.
  8. The only problems with Carowinds, IMO, would be the track already being made this early. Did Leviathan have track being made at this point? Also, this is a flying coaster track compared to the mega-coaster CW is supposedly getting. China seems very likely to me for the exact reasons Lance has posted.
  9. ^ I believe our very own Banshee had a "Country of Origin: USA" tag. EDIT: Just checked my pictures from the tour back in September. Banshee defintely has that tag.
  10. ^That picture reminds me of a question I have always wondered. What was that small gray building that is seen just to the right of the sign used for?
  11. I literally laughed out loud when I went back and read it without "this is." That definitely changes the meaning.
  12. I actually just wanted to know Terp's opinion on what's going on with the circle.
  13. Terp, as you are so confident in the name staying, I'm curius what you think of the circle. Will you please share your thoughts?
  14. ^ I think that's slightly pushing the limits on "throwback."
  15. ^ It's the off-season and that wall has something to new with our brand spanking new, twisty, big, and shiny contraption. Why not?
  16. Today Six Flags Great America shared the final renderings of Goliath on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SFGreatAmerica/photos_stream The reason this is interesting? Check out the supports: This is definitely very cool to look at and will make for a stunning skyline with the addition of this great *cough* steel *cough* coaster.
  17. It's near miss element and part of the theming. The whole ride is apocolypse themed. I don't believe that is the station though, as I am not quite so familiar with the ride itself. The foreground of the structure is indeed a near-miss element, but the background is part of the station. Source: A multitude of pictures found by searching "Swarm roller coaster" on Google and Google Maps. (You'd be surprised at the amount and variety of questions you can answer using the latter)
  18. Can I be the first to say how much I love that graphic? Cool, thanks. I love that graphic!
  19. For how hard that park seemed to try in taking that record away from America's Roller Coast, they sure haven't been marketing it as much as I thought they would.
  20. For anyone wondering, it appears Jason McClure has subtly confirmed that Cedar Point, as KI does with Surf Dog, will count Pipe Scream as a roller coaster. From the article linked above:
  21. In ChainDog's first picture, also note the half-constructed Eiffel Tower. Never-mind. I shouldn't be posting this late. I'm going to bed now.
  22. KK Marketing: +/- 0 Anything Else: +1 And that brings the total score to: KK Marketing: 0 Anything Else: ∞
  23. Just found this article via NewsPlusNotes. The park will spend 1.5 million on four additions for 2014: - two person zipline over wave pool - four-lane mat racer - new restaurant, Beachcomber Café - sledding hill to start operations in November 2014 http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/news/zipline-other-attractions-coming-to-the-beach/ndNdG/
  24. TheBEASTunchained, thanks for creating this thread. Having all these ancient photos in one place is very nice. I'm not old enough for these pics to bring back memories, but it sure is nice to imagine the park back then. It really does seem like a better place then than it is now.
  25. Back in 2009, we took shelter in the back of DB's gift shop. We were then moved to a warehouse in the employees only area outside PS (then NU). Why you may ask? There was an active tornado warning in place. This is actually probably the most vivid memory I have of Kings Island. The weather was just astounding. I would share more in detail, but I fear my post would get too long.
