Attention: Kings Island is closing early at 9:00 PM today. I think there's more employees here than guests.

Is Vekoma really that bad?

I'm a stomach sleeper, which may explain why I prefer Manta over Firehawk.... -
The problems I described are not exclusive to official power hours. Anytime they are rushing guests (e.g. saying they want to dispatch in X seconds) or rushing themselves (you stated "hustling") is a problem. Power hours just take an existing minor problem and make it into a major problem, but it's a problem either way.

Oh for Pete's sake. We don't need this stupid "power hour" crap at Mystic Timbers as well. Bad experience for guests who get rushed or stapled by a rushing ride op, and I seriously question during these power hours if they really are properly checking every single restraint. I've seen ride ops just touch my restraint on it during power hours and often it doesn't look as if they're actually pulling on it to verify that it is locked. Safety should be first (take the time to properly check each and every restraint). Guest experience should be second (don't rush the guests or shove their restraint down when they're not ready for it). Efficiency should come after both of those. jcgoble3, thinking about what Terpy would say here

When Soak City opens, the Subway there (near the train platform) has one or two additional hot subs and a toasting oven.

If anyone still has the problem with the forums flashing and then going to a white screen, clearing your cache should fix it (as it just did for me).

Do they still allow snapping? I know other scooters at Cedar Fair parks banned snapping a year or two ago. -
The only correct answer here is that it counts as two credits if you choose to count it as two credits, or one credit if you choose to count it as one credit. Because at the end of the day, there's no prizes for highest credit count, so all that matters is how you personally choose to track them. As for me? I count each distinct single-ride experience from boarding the train to exiting the train as one credit. So I would count KI's Racer as two credits, along with Gemini, but unlike a lot of other people, I would also count Kennywood's Racer (a Möbius Loop) as two credits, since two rides are needed to experience the whole thing. Twisted Colossus, on the other hand, would be one credit for me since both sides of its Möbius Loop are experienced in a single ride.

https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2017/april/reds-hall-of-fame-grille-makes-it-quicker-to-eat So not only have they completely changed Reds Grille from a table service restaurant to just a glorified counter service stand with self-serve drinks, where the only thing the staff has to do is deliver your food to the table (like quite a few fast-food joints do), but you're still expected to tip? Yeah, I can't see that working out very well.

That depends on how wet you want to be. The ride will get you wet enough to cool you off, but not so wet that it takes you hours to dry off (it usually feels like a heavy mist, unless you get unlucky and get hit by the wave rebounding off the bottom of the bridge.) Standing on the bridge, on the other hand, will drench you and soak you to the bone.

A few nights ago, I was out for dinner with my mom (who rarely rides coasters and only goes to KI about once every other season), and she was asking me about the shed. So yeah, it's got people talking.

Not unless something changed this weekend. Last Sunday (April 16), I rode in the back row and got my elbow wet by accident, so it was filled and splashing normally then.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

I saw a comment on a Facebook post from someone else who heard the same thing in Springboro. The sound waves would have to travel roughly 12 miles to reach Springboro, and even actual thunder usually doesn't reach that far. Given that I haven't seen any other posts from people in communities in between saying that they also heard it, I'm guessing that the sound you heard was something in or around the Springboro area, not the bridge implosion, and the timing was just a coincidence.

Yeah, any footings they need for Winterfest would require, I think, 28 days to cure before they can bear loads. Since they would have to bring heavy equipment out into the park to pour them, they'd either have to pour them in the mornings before the park opens in July, or do it on a day when the park is closed. And the former isn't a good idea since guests might mess with the wet concrete before it sets. So they have to pour them before the season begins in order for them to be cured in time for construction to begin in the fall.

I might agree with this. My first ride was third train of the day on Sunday, and it had very little in the way of forces at that time. Later that day, around 2:30, I rode it again with tjpavlik, and I noticed a distinct difference in the amount of forces. At the time, I chalked it up to where I was sitting (near the middle the first time, back row the second time, but on the right side both times), but it may indeed just need to warm up a bit before giving the best rides.

So you're saying that RMC is a possibility?

On Sunday, when I went into a fairly quiet Guest Services just after noon to add the drink plan to my pass, they simply told me to go to the Help Center. So it seems that they want simple transactions like that to take place at the Help Center now and leave Guest Services for people who have complaints and issues to resolve.

How nice are GCI coasters to "larger" coaster fans?
jcgoble3 replied to CocaColaParking's topic in Kings Island
Great! For the record, at least in past years, on rides without a test seat, you can go up the exit and ask to test-fit a seat between cycles before waiting in line if you're unsure of whether you'll fit. I can't actually recall witnessing anyone doing this in the 6+ years I've been going to KI, but the option does exist. -
Last year, when I did not have a season pass, I came on Mystic Timbers announcement day using a "bring-a-friend any day" ticket purchased with malem's pass. We asked and were told that bring-a-friend tickets included ERT, and we verified this with the security guard at the Gold Pass entrance, who had no issue with me entering ERT showing only my bring-a-friend ticket.

https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/attractions/drop-doom-vr Thankfully, this is for a limited time only, so not a permanent change. And hopefully the VR won't make the wait times too long, since the description alone pretty much excludes anyone with arachnophobia (which is a lot of people). I didn't watch the video, though.

While complete park closures for weather are rare at KI, Soak City closing for weather is much more common, especially in the first couple of weeks when the temperature may only reach into the 60s.
