  1. Forget Reds Grille. 1 hour and 45 minute wait because they only have three servers, so they are only using one small section of the restaurant. Ridiculous.
  2. Not sure; someone else may have a good answer, or else your best best is to ask at Guest Relations (or call the park, but I find that asking in person at Guest Relations typically gets better and more accurate answers). Yes, you can process the upgrade now. Since you are upgrading, make sure to hold on to your 2015 Gold Pass, as you would need to use it for entry this weekend. The 2016 Platinum Pass given to you when you process won't work until January 1 (and then only at Knott's until other parks begin opening for the season).
  3. I bet that half owner is wishing he hadn't objected now.
  4. So the hotel's own bankruptcy was rejected by the court, allowing the trustees to take action. Interesting. I still doubt the park can be saved.
  5. Closing day, in my experience, is usually walk-on city all day long. Your experience may vary, of course.
  6. While browsing TVTropes tonight, I came across this rather odd mention on the Percussive Maintenance page, under the "Real Life" section: Does anyone here know whether or not that is actually true? It seems rather odd for a standard procedure.
  7. It "doesn't surprise" you? Do I dare ask why, or is that better left unsaid?
  8. Board to Death indeed took over Mysteria's former location. However, the other two are not even close. Cut Throat Cove was on the back patio of Hank's, while Sorority House took over Massacre Manor's location (and really isn't much more than a retheming of the latter). KillMart is in a location that has not hosted a maze before (it used to be an arcade building), while Holiday Horror was all the way over in Planet Snoopy in the Peanuts Playhouse (now the petting zoo).
  9. I don't like raccoons because one of them hit my car back in July on the way home from KI at 1:00 AM, and knocked my A/C system out. I still haven't gotten it fixed, and won't until spring. At least the stupid critter died on impact, so he won't be able to take out anyone else's A/C systems.
  10. I still wonder if the presence of lead-based paint creates complications for track work on The Racer...
  11. Because you'll be in too much pain to care. My fiancee and I rode last seat based on someone's suggestion we were chatting with in line...we both carried bruises for a few days (not exaggerating). I suspect that was not recently. Last year and this year, I would contend that the very back seat on The Beast has been smoother than any seat on The Racer.

    KI Survey

When I click that link, after activating Flash (sigh), I just get "Sorry, this publication is not available".
  13. I deliberately left Coney Island off so that the list could be focused on a specific region (northern suburbs), and also because, unlike the others, it's not one that I have personally experienced. But yes, Coney Island is definitely another choice in the Cincy area.
  14. Excuse me? The Beach Waterpark, Great Wolf Lodge, Full Throttle Indoor Karting, EnterTRAINment Junction, Escape the Room Challenge. That's just five options in Northern Cincinnati alone, and there's probably many others I'm not aware of throughout the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky market that I'm not aware of because I'm from the Dayton area and don't go to the Cincy area much. Kings Island isn't anywhere close to a monopoly.
  15. I'm glad I wasn't the employee who had to remove that poor guy.

Submitted! Good luck with the speech. I've been told that public speaking is an very useful skill, although I have not yet had a major need for it outside of school assignments. But I'm sure I will need it someday.

  18. Okay, I think I figured out the non sequitur. I think it was supposed to be a reply to this: I'm not sure, though.
  19. Sorry to hear that about your dog. I hope he beats the cancer, and that you can enjoy the park in 2016.
  20. ...at very high expense which most regional, seasonal parks and chains cannot afford or justify from a business perspective. Universal can do it because they are a major year-round tourist destination with way, way higher revenue than a Kings Island or other similarly-situated park. They spent a quarter of a billion dollars on the Harry Potter expansion that opened last year. Kings Island's largest investment to date into building a single attraction is less than 10% of that. That oughta give you a bit of a clue as to their relative budgets and spending capability.
  21. The year I remember seeing them was 2012.
  22. Bringing this up to wonder if some improvements have indeed been made. My previous high score was in the 2,100s, but last night I managed to score 2,940. I even was able to easily hit a couple of the targets on the far side of the library scene, which I've never been able to do before. I looked at the lights on the guns when I got in, and found one with a strong beam (left side of car 10, IIRC), so that might have been part of why I scored so high. (The other gun I checked, in the middle of the car, had a much dimmer light when I hit the trigger, so obviously things aren't perfect.) Also, it seemed like targets were resetting more quickly, as I was able to easily hit many target twice or even three times before they were out of range (another reason for the high score). Oh, and for those who are wondering: no scareactors inside Boo Blasters last night.
