Glad I could see you, and thanks for meeting me for an early dinner, even if you were late. (Yeah, I know, traffic can be a *****.) I'm a bit disappointed that the weather was what it was, given that this will likely be my last visit until 2017 as well. But at least I got a few final rides in with friends.

Great seeing you. Surprised you didn't mention my Boo Blasters score of 2,940. Glad we both had fun.

Overflow for Preferred Parking, I believe. Uh... what? That's a strange non sequitur.

Uh, yeah. (Credit: WHIO-TV Dayton Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell) As I commented, apparently the predicted rain around Myrtle Beach is too much for FutureCast's coloring algorithm to handle. EDIT: Carowinds has also tweeted in reply to someone that they expect to be open tomorrow (Friday), but that may change.

Per the park's website, Facebook, and Twitter, Kings Dominion will be closed this evening due to the approach of Hurricane Joaquin. KD currently plans to open as scheduled on Saturday and Sunday, although guests should continue to check the website and the park's social media for updates and presumably more potential closures.

Columbus Day weekend should be avoided at all costs. It is typically one of the busiest weekends of the year. This coming weekend has chances of rain all weekend, so crowds will probably be much smaller. Thus I'd suggest this weekend.

To be fair, you paid for free food, not for free soft drinks or a free front-of-the-line pass, both of which this comes with. So given that, it's acceptable to charge a small fee. You're essentially paying the value of a one-person single-use front-of-the-line pass plus a fee for drink service. $5.00 is more than reasonable for those combined.

On Friday nights, I typically eat a meal nearby before heading to the park. Then the level of food service will determine whether I get the next meal inside the park or after closing at the McDonald's up the road. On a Saturday, I could, if timed correctly, leave in the late afternoon or early evening, eat outside the park, and return before the re-entry cutoff. Then my next meal would follow the same procedure as on Friday nights. And on either night, if sufficiently hungry and ****ed off, I can simply leave, forfeit the rest of the night, eat somewhere, and head home. I can use my season pass to return for another night (or not, depending on how ****ed off I was). In short, no, I am not a captive audience during Haunt. I can and will change my plans and/or leave the park early if the park does not give me good reason to stay and spend my money there.

At least once in the past, they had a couple of scareactors along the ride path. The only problem is that those scareactors were doing a very poor job, to put it diplomatically. I'm not sure if they are still doing that.

Interesting. I wonder if their drink selection has changed. In the past, I have avoided Tower Drinks due to the fact that they do not offer any soft drinks that I like. If they now have Mello Yello or Barq's red creme soda, I would be more likely to buy a drink there instead of hunting down another drink stand.

"Hope" being the key word. As long as I use the dining plan enough times for it to pay for itself (which I easily do and then some), I will gladly take my business elsewhere if lines are that long. And if I leave the park to eat, that means they do not get money for the $4 soft drink I would otherwise buy with my meal, and they might even possibly lose a full-price meal from me (at least once this season, I have purchased an entree at Reds Grille not offered on the dining plan). Just because I've paid in advance doesn't mean that they don't need to keep me happy, because there is more money to be made from me, and I can and will take that money elsewhere if food service in the park is unacceptable.

I've never figured out why that section of the parking lot is blocked off during the fall season. I'm sure there is a reason, though.

Haunt draws a... different crowd. Reducing said crowd's access to alcohol is probably a good thing.

No, they do not. Mobile users will need to use a browser to access the poll.

I wish places (in general) that sold elephant ears would offer half ears or even quarter ears. I love elephant ears, but they are way, way too big for me. I typically can only eat about 20% to 25% of one and end up throwing the rest away. Not everyone has a big family to split it among.

The first lift hill varies in speed due to the blocking system. As soon as the train hits the hill, the lift slows down and proceeds at a crawl until the train in front has cleared the second lift. When that happens, the first lift speeds up. Depending on when the train in front clears the second lift, the time needed to climb the first lift can vary by quite a bit. So you probably found POVs with the train in front (which wouldn't be visible in the video) being at different positions on the course, and thus clearing the lift at different times relative to the camera train's position.

Definitely pray for sun. Actually, on second thought, don't let rain keep you out of the water park. You're going to get wet anyway, so what's the difference?

If you already have the Water Park Fun & More option, and have an extra visit on that option to spare, it's worth going in for a bit if only to look around. If you don't have a WPF&M visit to spare, or you didn't add that option in the first place, it's not even remotely worth the entry fee. I might consider paying $5 to get in, or even $10, but $48? Hell no. jcgoble3, who tried to like DisneyQuest in 2012, without success

^ I believe that in the past, Fright Feast has included one single-use front-of-the-line pass, valid for one maze of your choice, which is what I think the OP is referring to.
