  1. That was posted on the previous page and has been the subject of discussion for the past several posts. Try to keep up.
  2. One could argue that we are already "toward the end of the month"... (Just kidding. )
  3. Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer. Always consult a licensed attorney for legal advice. In my understanding, the park, as a private entity, can't directly force someone to pay a fine; they would have to enforce it by saying something like "you're banned indefinitely until you pay", and I'm not sure of the legal implications of that. (Incidentally, this is how sports leagues without unions/CBAs, like NASCAR, generally enforce fines: pay now or be suspended until you do. A player/driver/whatever in such a league who is assessed a fine could theoretically choose to retire on the spot instead, and the league would never be able to force payment.) What they CAN do, however, is call in local police (Sandusky Police, Mason Police, etc.) and have the person booked into the local jail on a charge of trespassing. From there, they have the right to a fair trial, and if convicted (or if they plead guilty), the judge can enforce a fine (or possibly even a short jail sentence). I suspect that this is what would have happened in the Raptor incident had the man not been struck by the train.
  4. According to Kentucky Kingdom's Facebook page, 2016 season passes are now on sale for $59.95 + tax. New for 2016 will be free soft drinks for season pass holders, instead of the $1 soft drinks that had been the case last year and this year. Two things to note: 1. Somebody in the comments thread on that post has already complained about THIS thread. 2. This deal, of course, assumes that Kentucky Kingdom will have a 2016 season, which is not guaranteed at this point.
  5. And sporting an awesome shirt ! LOL! Too bad they didn't pan the camera down a bit to pick up the name of the site.
  6. I'm currently debating whether to renew my pass at all for next season. I've been getting bored with Kings Island over the past couple of seasons, and while the new slides are indeed exciting, I honestly don't visit Soak City but once or twice a year, and the new toy isn't likely to significantly change that. I'm thinking I may save the money I would have spent on the pass and a dozen or more KI visits and put it toward my Universal trip, and maybe a trip or two to parks I've never been to, instead.
  7. Weird. Congo Falls was down loaded when malem, marth555, and I were getting suited up for Skyflyer just before 5pm. By the time we were off of Skyflyer around 5:15, both boats had been fully evacuated. Are you saying that it reopened after that, then broke down again and had to be evacuated again?
  8. Both the current north tolls (near the bend in KI Drive where the guardrail is) and the current south tolls (aka main tolls) are being removed completely (this is the "two original things" that BoddaH1994 was semi-trolling us about yesterday). The new toll plaza will be the only plaza, located in the northern section of the parking lot (precise location unknown to us at the moment).
  9. The KIC group was at the front, right behind the rope on the right-hand side. I was wearing my white KICentral shirt. Did you see us?
  10. Shall we start the 2017 announcement speculation thread already? (Actually, no. Let's not get that far ahead. )
  11. I listened to WLW all the way home and didn't hear me, just the anchor report and sound bites from Greg.
  12. Hey! I made TV! http://www.wlwt.com/news/kings-island-announces-new-attraction-at-water-park/34788480
  13. Over near Tidal Wave Bay and the volleyball courts.
  14. Six. Three trapdoor slides and three gentler, less thrilling slides. I can't swim either, but I still enjoy waterparks. The vast majority of attractions at waterparks do not have water deeper than four feet. As long as you can go underwater and recover to a standing position without assistance, you can do most slides safely.
  15. I spotted Don at the stage above earlier (I think he's in that pic). Haven't seen Greg.
  16. The stage is near the Soak City gate across from the smoking area. Magenta Lizard and I are sitting in the shade in the smoking area (there aren't any smokers here presently) and waiting. thoe124 is somewhere in the waterpark.
  17. Be aware that the park is only running a single half train (three cars) every 15 to 20 minutes. Walking might be a better choice.
  18. Flyer given to me at parking tolls a few minutes ago:
  19. Does this have anything to do with why suddenly every single post from the past two weeks has be re-marked as "unread" for me? This is on my laptop; I haven't checked Tapatalk yet.
  20. I'm confused on how this was predicted..... Note that he is off by one day. Also, he implied a couple of pages ago that his countdown was referring to something else.
  21. To paraphrase my mother, the female singers' outfits were about as country as Mom's tennis shoes.
  22. I would hope Cedar Fair DOES do business with RMC. I just hope that said business is in the form of entirely new construction from the ground up rather than retrofitting/modifying existing coasters. IIRC, RMC has done some scratch construction in the past (or am I mis-remembering things again? ).
  23. I've been meaning to try the Land of Illusion for a couple of years, but I've never come up with the money to buy a ticket (plus I'd rather not go alone; haunted houses and trails are a lot more fun with friends). Perhaps, since it's not too far away from KI, we should organize a group trip? Even if we only get two or three on the trip, that's way better than going solo.
  24. Yes, still photos are (actually, it's now were) allowed. The rules were no flash and no video during the show.
  25. What do you mean, four more days? Did the park say somewhere that we're getting an announcement Thursday?
