  1. And from what I saw on Facebook (I lost the link), the employee is looking elsewhere despite the offer. The bridge is already burned, from the looks of it.
  2. To clarify: For the first two years of having Freestyle machines in the park, Freestyle drinks were more expensive than regular drinks and either not available or an upcharge with refill plans (souvenir cup, wristband, etc.). After the first two years, they were changed to being treated exactly the same as regular drinks, with the same prices and same inclusion in refill plans.
  3. Come to think of it, I think the brake shed after the first right-hand turn used to be block brakes. So you may be right there. In modern times, the slowness of the first lift hill does serve to let the train in front enter the next block, though the precise point at which that happens still varies by dispatch speed.
  4. "A better footing"? Are you saying that we will see footings in the ground on opening day?
  5. More likely, it's just variations in dispatch time. The later a train is dispatched, the further ahead the train in front will be when the first train crests the first hill.
  6. A millennium is any arbitrary period of 1,000 years. So 2000 started a new millennium. 2001 also started a new millennium. Tomorrow will also start a new millennium. Consider it a fiscal millennium, if you will.
  7. Actually, while the (old) queue is to the north of the exit path for most of its length, it crosses over (via another annoying bridge) to the south side just before you reach the platform. So depending on how the new queue is routed, it's possible that both bridges could be eliminated at once (though I have no idea how they'd do that without disrupting the geysers that Thrill_Biscuit loves so much ).
  8. For those like me having trouble visualizing the new entrance, here's a screenshot from Google Earth with some added lines: The red line represents the old entrance and queue, while the yellow represents the new entrance and a rough estimate of the queue. Notably, this would put the railroad crossing just after the station rather than just before, which could make a grade crossing much easier. Specifically, it could be done as a routine part of the train's dispatch procedures, rather than as a separate process that has to monitor where the train is at all times, and handling the (hopefully rare) case of a misbehaving guest ignoring instructions at the crossing would be simpler (just delay dispatch, rather than potentially forcing an emergency stop of a moving train).
  9. The Louisville Zoo was our senior class trip. No lie. Our senior trip was for 4 hours a little over a hour away from home. At least you got to do something fun. My senior class trip was an educational tour of the Ohio Statehouse. Seriously. It was part of U.S. Government class, and some aspects of the tour appeared on our next test.
  10. ...if you're willing to wait a few hours for a table. Yes, I'm still sour about the closing day incident.
  11. Is photography permitted on the Sky Ride at Cedar Point? I was under the impression that it wasn't.
  12. I didn't even know such a thing existed. Maybe I should get with the times.
  13. I also had to switch cards during the payment plan last year, due to my credit union deciding to issue all cardholders a new card with a new number for "increased security" or something like that*. I updated through the website with no problem. *Of course, now they've had to repeat that entire process less than a year later due to the new chip card requirement.
  14. There's a tutorial here: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/26752-tutorial-how-to-upload-photos/
  15. Great report! Now I'm craving a visit to Diagon Alley myself. They had an incident (or another dueling coaster somewhere else had an incident; I forget which) several years ago where a loose object was either intentionally or inadvertently ejected from a rider on one train and struck someone on the other train at a high rate of speed. Since then, they are very careful to stagger the dispatches to specifically ensure that the trains do not duel.
  16. I will be completely honest: while it was not the actual reason for my decision not to renew my season pass for 2016 (that ultimately came down to financial issues), the abysmal food service last year definitely made the decision much easier to swallow. Walking into Reds Grille on closing day with a big group and being told that the wait for a table would be (IIRC) an hour and 45 minutes, because they only had two or three servers working and were thus using only one-quarter of the available tables, was the nail in the coffin. As late as the morning of closing day, I was still considering reversing my decision and renewing at the last minute that night, but the Reds Grille experience left such a sour taste in my mouth that it instantly killed that notion for good.
  17. MSG is just one more thing that the American public has been taught to fear without reason. Scientific evidence says it's safe, therefore I don't care whether MSG is present in my food. As for Panda Express's orange chicken, it's a guilty pleasure. That said, I typically balance it out by making my other entree something much healthier and choosing veggies for my side instead of rice.
  18. True, but only to a certain extent. One just gets you a citation, while the other gets you thrown in jail. But both are still illegal. For the record, I always obey the speed limit.
  19. It's still illegal. Period. You've admitted to it, so don't even try to defend yourself further. Again, the owners of the property do NOT have a responsibility to physically prevent people from trespassing on their property. YOU have a responsibility to not trespass on other people's property.
  20. Correct. I shouldn't have been able to do so. Incorrect. You shouldn't have done it. Period. Not you shouldn't have been "able" to do it. It's not THEIR job to make it physically impossible to trespass. It's YOUR job as (I hope) an upstanding member of society to obey the law, including the provision that you don't trespass on other people's property without first obtaining their permission. Sheesh.
  21. I avoid Chick-Fil-A simply because I don't like their food.
  22. It only lasted two season I believe. The first year it cost extra then the second year it was free. Three seasons. The first year, it cost extra. The second year, it was free. The third year, it cost extra again, which makes no sense and, I'm guessing, was a driving factor in reducing viewership and making it unprofitable, thus the decision to remove it.
  23. The game shown in the tweet by the park <https://twitter.com/kingsislandpr/status/689108609410662401> looks nothing like that video of Lionel Messi.
  24. That's the lesser of the two evils on the lift hill. Having your ears inches away from the very loud anti-rollbacks is worse.
  25. I'd very much like to have a grade crossing instead of the bridge. It would be much easier than climbing all those steps only to go right back down, and on the exit, it would be much easier for wheelchair users to not have to deal with that massive ramp.
