Normally, I would not expect much in the way of crowds on those days. However, this year you have two additional factors in play at the same time: Dollar Days, which in previous years have been shown to bring out the crowds, and Gold Pass Bring-A-Friend Days, which sometimes have no effect on crowd levels and other times leave the park super-super-crowded. So the answer is that nobody can possibly predict crowd levels for those days. If this is a once-a-year trip for you, or getting everything in is important to you, I would recommend budgeting for Fast Lane, but waiting until you get to the park to see what the crowds are like. Fast Lane Plus probably won't be needed even if the park is packed; Firehawk can be had with no line by heading straight there at 10am rope drop, and Banshee is a people-eater with a fast-moving line. Have fun!

Dollar Days Returning to Kings Island

What is "scooped lemonade"? -
^ I cheated and looked it up on Wikipedia.

Current wait time for all rides: 4 days and 15 hours, give or take a few minutes. Where has this season gone?

Check your geography. Paris, Athens, and Rome can all be found within the borders of the state of Ohio. EDIT: Beaten.

http://www.vice.com/read/the-worst-part-of-the-ice-bucket-challenge-is-the-people-criticizing-it-822 Previously, I agreed with Devan on this. Now, I think I've changed my mind. Whether you support or criticize the Ice Bucket Challenge, give this article a read. It discusses the disease itself a little, including how it progresses, what it takes to diagnose it, and why there's so little research into it, as well as talking about the critics of the challenge and why they're wrong (and why those that dump ice water on themselves without donating aren't completely wrong). Make sure to read all the way to the last sentence, then re-read the article with that last sentence in mind. Then think about it for a bit.

I was last at COSI in the late 90s or early 2000s, after the "new" COSI opened but before any financial troubles. I'm overdue for another visit.

In the past 10 minutes or so, this site has been EXTREMELY slow to respond. Anybody else getting this problem?

^ Oops. Did somebody hit the gas pedal when they meant to hit the brake pedal?

I often put the plastic Kinzel cups in them as well. Is that a problem?
-
Interestingly, last weekend at Cedar Point, I was given a full-size 20 oz. cup for water several times. Plus when I did get a small plastic cup, they were noticeably larger than KI's water cups.

I've seen a few winners on High Striker, but only a few. The number of scores in the 90s I've seen vastly outnumber the winners.

I may be wrong on this, but I believe the one free admission for 2014 is loaded directly onto your pass once processed, so you simply use the pass to get in.

In previous years, the train becomes part of the Tombstone Terror-tory outdoor haunt at nightfall. The train stops at the isolated platform you pass on the way to Soak City, and everyone gets off there and goes through the trail, which utilizes White Water Canyon's exit. There is no round trip while that haunt is open; you must get off and go through the trail. During the day, it's your standard train ride, acting as transportation between Rivertown and Soak City (where the kid-friendly Halloween activities have been recently).

Will Diamondback always be the tallest at KI?

But are you learning things? -
This may help. The facts therein were generally accurate at time of posting. The author here did not in any way contribute to the content at the link below, nor is he responsible for its content: http://preview.tinyurl.com/lb74wt2 (had to use this as the forum software here was messing with the link, which contains brackets) The solution is to "percent-encode" the parentheses as "%28" and "%29", which are "(" and ")" respectively. Firefox actually does this automatically for me when I copy the URL from the address bar. Anyway, the direct link is here: http://www.wikinvest.com/stock/Cedar_Fair,_L.P._%28FUN%29/Certain_Relationships_Related_Transactions

Pancakes >>> Waffles.

I don't know who runs the Starbucks. They accept the Gold Pass 10% discount, which makes me think the park runs it, but they also accept Starbucks gift cards, which makes me think that Starbucks itself runs it.

I peered in through the window on the side door Wednesday and didn't see anything new or unusual.

So both gigas must be the exact same height, exact same speed, and exact same length? My head hurts. -
I don't know what the deal is, but another forum I'm on used to have a dedicated sub-section of "off-topic" specifically for discussion of pancakes and waffles. I'm not kidding.

As if Terpy driving me crazy wasn't bad enough, now Don is joining him. I can't help but laugh, but I want to scream too.

Which is fine with me.
