  1. Perhaps there will be multiple designs. When I was at Carowinds in 2012, they had a souvenir cup for just about every major ride in a bevy of colors. I'm not holding my breath, but if I could buy and orange cup with The Bat on it, I MAY be willing to invest in extra cups...
  2. Yeah, it was closed the night of the Banshee announcement. Looks like there ended up being more stuff to speculate for 2014.
  3. ..which thread was closed?Starting to Decode 2014Too lazy to find a link
  4. ^So that's what it looked like when the yellow wasn't faded and horrible...
  5. The support structure doesn't exactly stand still when the ride is in operation. It shakes and shimmies as the train passes over. If it don't shake, it's gonna break.
  6. Looks like our favorite decoding thread got closed prematurely...
  7. The current management is not quite as concerned with collecting people's nickels as the former management would have been.
  8. Are you on a solid footing with that claim? It doesn't seem very concrete to me.
  9. This isn't totally related to Coasting for Kids, but it is somewhat, so I'll post it here. If you haven't heard of it before, Amazon Smile is a program through Amazon.com where 0.5% of every purchase goes to a charity of your choosing. To use it, just shop through smile.amazon.com instead of the normal site. All items are exactly the same price as they would normally be, so you don't pay a penny more. Give Kids the World is one of the many, many charities you can choose to benefit with your purchases, as are A Kid Again, and many of the other nonprofits that Kings Island and KICentral members have given to over the years. I know that half a percent doesn't seem like much, but look at it this way: when I graduate college, I plan on ordering a nice Nikon DSLR camera as a graduation present. With that purchase that I would have been making regardless, a charity of my choice will be given a few dollars at no additional cost to me. Seems like a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
  10. What are the coldest temperatures they can paint in? I've heard that when painting a house, you don't want to paint when it's any lower than 40 degrees outside. I'm not sure how different coasters are, but if that is the case, it's no surprise that a lot hasn't gotten done the past several weeks.
  11. I don't see the importance of that particular piece... I mean, all in all it's just another... Oh nevermind.
  12. What do you mean there's no re-theme? We can already see traces of a retheme! There was no action in said zone many previous years, and now there is! I kid, I kid!
  13. ^ From https://www.dorneypark.com/plan-a-visit/fast-pay I would take this as a definite "maybe" and confirmation that FastPay being implemented at the other parks is a possibility that has been thought about, at the very least. Translation: This doesn't actually even remotely confirm anything. Nothing to see here.
  14. I'm just glad to know that my abuse of what I call "cheater chain" in Roller Coaster Tycoon is an actual thing that really happens in the industry.
  15. There is one thing swinging me toward KD/BGW... I have heard that on the Rebel Yell, I'll cry "more, more, more"... And the guy who told me that was basically one of my Idols.
  16. Green is not a creative color.

  17. I don't think there is actually a chain on those segments, I think they're just anti-rollbacks.
  18. If someone takes a pic of Banshee, you should get one of The Bat as well. It's looking really great so far.
  19. I think I'll be doing Dollywood at some point as well. Probably a weekend trip, as will a trip to Kennywood (which is a park I loved so much, it may become an annual tradition). Basically, I'm wanting to do something that is a day or less of driving time, but would be difficult or impossible to do as a day/weekend trip.
  20. For me personally, absolutely, 100% yes. In fact, Diamondback is my 3rd least favorite coaster in the park, beating out only Backlot Stunt Coaster and Flying Ace Aerial Chase. If it's any consolation, had I ever ridden The Great Pumpkin Coaster, Diamondback would be my 4th least favorite. As its manufacturer implies with their name, I find Diamondback to be Boring & Mediocre. -Homestar92, generally a fan of B&M coasters but unimpressed by their Hypers and Wings.
  21. Adventure Express and The Bat sometimes flip-flop on my favorite non-inverting steel coasters list. I'm feeling more batty than adventurous today, so at least for now, The Bat it is for me. I will admit, TheCrypt's comeback was superb.
  22. You may also notice when driving on I-71 that our humble little Arrow Suspended Coaster finally pops and is easy to see from the highway. Visible to all, as the best non-inverting steel coaster at Kings Island should be.
  23. If Wolf Pack were to be taken away, then the random coaster station to nowhere would LITERALLY be pointless. Get rid of/relocate Madame Fatale's so that the giant white box can go away. That particular Haunt was DRAMATICALLY better in 2012 anyway.
