KICentral And Coaster Crew To Partner In 2014
Eww, Coney Mall with blacktop. Not a memory I enjoy reliving.

Five Roller Coasters We're Looking Forward To in 2o14
Staying with friends is a great way to enjoy an out-of-town park. That cut the cost of my Kennywood trip this summer by nearly half of what I had allocated.

The Beast Recreation (Help Thread)
According to RCDB, The Beast has a max vertical angle of 45 degrees, which I can only assume is on the first drop. So 45 degrees would presumably be correct unless there is somehow a steeper drop somewhere else. Also, the drop into the helix is apparently 18 degrees.

Banshee Construction Progress
I hope they don't retheme Action Zone. That section is Paramount to my enjoyment of the park. In all seriousness, I don't care in the slightest what they do to Action Zone themewise, as long as we get some overall TLC (and they've done well with that so far). If it looks nice, they can call it Princess and Fairy Land for all I care.

Intamin or B&M
All this talk of homemade coasters... I'm just gonna leave this here. http://rcdb.com/326.htm Now you can all feel inadequate.

Kings Island The Next Cedar Point
Or at very least, choose rides for ads such that a ride of similar make and model is actually in the park being advertised. I recall seeing a Haunt ad involving a B&M Invert for KI either last year or two years ago.

Kings Island The Next Cedar Point
It is worth noting that all of those parks existed before Cedar Fair Entertainment Company had anything to do with them. In fact, has Cedar Fair ever opened a brand new park? I may be wrong, but I believe almost all of the Six Flags parks that were owned by Six Flags from their inception have their location in their name.

Kings Island The Next Cedar Point
Now Magnum XL-200 IS a ride that I would write home about. People are also shocked when I inform them that I enjoyed Magnum more than Millennium Force (by a HUGE margin). I get the feeling that the height and speed stats are the only things that most non-enthusiasts see when they decide what they like in a coaster.

Theming we would like to see on Banshee
I don't need any theming on the ride itself for me to have a blast. None, zilch, nada. (Though I would very much enjoy a tunnel or two) I would, however, LOVE a themed queue line that really gets you in the mood of the ride. As it has been stated, at 68 MPH, you won't notice a whole lot of theming. But a line that is immersive goes a long way in making the ride more enjoyable (and worth waiting for).

Kings Island The Next Cedar Point
I agree with TombRaiderFTW on all of his points. I can also add this. My permanent residence is in Fairfield, so Kings Island is very much my "home park". Nine months of the year, however, I spend my time in Central Ohio, smack dab halfway between Cedar Point and Kings Island. And yet, anytime people see my Vortex poster and I explain that it's my favorite, they always inform me that since I like Vortex, I "would LOVE Cedar Point because they have so many better coasters!" They always seem shocked when I tell them that, yes, I have been to Cedar Point, yes, Vortex is STILL my favorite, and no, I did not think Millennium Force or Top Thrill Dragster were really anything to write home about and that I'd prefer a lap on Adventure Express any day. When describing a typical day for me at Kings Island, nobody understands why I enjoy "some dumb magic show" more than I enjoy most of the rides (for what it's worth, if given the opportunity to trade Banshee away to get Ed Alonzo back, it would be a very difficult decision for me). I think Kings Island is more "homey" I guess, in that I can visit over and over and never get bored because there's always a way to make it fresh. Cedar Point strikes me as a once a year thrill that I would tire of rather quickly.

Banshee Construction Progress
I think the question then becomes, are there any B&M Inverts with tunnels that are above ground? I know that Afterburn's tunnel is underground, and the one on OzIris is underwater. I don't recall ever seeing an above-ground tunnel on an invert. It's possible that RailRider's examples were above ground, though. The reason I mention this is because I think it quite clear that Banshee will absolutely NOT have an underground tunnel.

Afterburn and OzIris have tunnels. Those are the only examples that I know offhand.

Banshee Construction Progress
Foundation for a tunnel?! (Fingers crossed!)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It's not impossible. While there wasn't a tunnel in the animation, it is also true that Leviathan and Gold Striker didn't have one in their animations either. Both of them have tunnels now, so you can't discount the possibility.

And if the tentative Media Day remains, then those among us who are not invited media or part of an invited club need only wait a day longer than those of us who can attend.

Flashback Till February 2014
My first ride on The Beast was in 2010. I have no nostalgia with it whatsoever. It is my second favorite woodie and third favorite coaster ever, ranking just below Voyage and Vortex. What makes The Beast special, to me, is the setting. You forget that you are at a theme park when you ride it since it's way back in the woods. If you took that coaster, and placed it completely on a flat concrete pad, I believe it would likely go down as a terribly boring coaster.

New Ride Coming to Coney in 2014
A Giant version would be ordered, and it would be removed before even reaching its 10th anniversary. I hate to bring back an old post, but you've got it all wrong. That's the Paramount's Kings Island version. Under Cedar Fair, they would buy six prototype versions only to relocate one a few years later.

To anyone who knows about Vortex
^What he said. Those are the block brakes. If the next block section is open, it will slow down less. If it is not, then the train will come to a full stop until it is.

PKI Lifetime Pass?
Well, Cedar Fair could give out a "PKI Lifetime Pass" and since PKI is no longer an actual thing, it would basically amount to a worthless piece of plastic.

No Loose Articles in the Banshee Station
This will only work if those still exist next year. I recall a time just a couple short years ago when EVERY locker in the park was of that variety, and now only the one set of them are. Also keep in mind, should they still be there and you use them, it would be wise to remove your items before 10 PM, or if you absolutely MUST get in that last 10 PM ride, pick a ride in Coney Mall or Oktoberfest, because security probably won't be too keen on you walking about after closing time unless you are headed for the main gate. This also seems like a good place for homestar92's guide to Theme Park Penny-Pinching through the use of cargo pants. Remove anything from your wallet that won't be needed for a day at KI. I learned this after an unfortunate incident on Firehawk required me to get a new Student ID card and cancel both my Debit and Credit cards. Now the only things that stay in my wallet are my gold pass, some cash if I don't plan on spending much, or my credit card if I do plan on spending a decent chunk of money. My driver's license travels to the park with me, but gets stored in my glove compartment upon arrival. I also keep an extra pair of glasses in my glove compartment at all times, so that if anything happens to my main pair, I can still get home. Also, regarding wallets, if you have an expensive or sentimentally-valuable wallet, I'd recommend getting a cheap one for theme park use. With regards to money, there is a good general rule to follow. If you are budgeting yourself $50 or less, you should probably carry cash. But if you know you will spend more, it actually makes more sense to bring a credit or debit card. The reason for this is the Fair Credit Billing Act, which states that if you report a lost or stolen card within two business days of learning that it has been lost or stolen, the most unauthorized charges for which you can be held liable is a total of $50. Phones are a toss-up around here. Many users, such as Terpy, do not typically bring a cell phone into theme parks for any number of reasons. Some of us, such as myself, need to have one with us for some reason or another (such as a mother who refuses to believe that her responsible 22-year-old son is far more likely to be hurt or killed driving to the park than he is on any rides therein, and therefore worries if she does not hear from him periodically). If you stick to a wallet, car keys, and possibly a cell phone, then cargo shorts should be perfect to hold your stuff. Zippers that run the length of the pocket are probably best, but if yours are velcro or a button in the middle, leaving the ends unfastened, safety pins for reinforcement can help ease your mind. Drinking water can save you from carrying a souvenir cup, and water is free at all concession stands and restaurants in the park. If you do choose to use a souvenir cup, then know that you will have to get a locker or leave it with a non-rider for Firehawk and probably Banshee. If you plan on riding White Water Canyon, Congo Falls, or Race For Your Life Charlie Brown, and you DON'T wear flip-flops or sandals, bring a Ziploc baggie with you. Prior to riding, remove your socks and place them in the baggie, then wear your shoes without socks for that ride. I find that wet shoes with no socks is a whole lot more tolerable than wet shoes AND socks. Then you also have dry socks to use later on when your shoes have adequately dried. Finally, sunblock. I stick to the trial-sized tubes. You can get them at most Meijer stores (and probably other places like Wal-Mart). The benefit to the trial-sized tubes is that they will also fit in cargo pockets quite nicely. Just close the lid good before you put it in your pocket, or give it its own pocket just in case. Or better yet, a Ziploc baggie. Sorry if this was slightly off-topic.

If I recall correctly, Don has said that the station won't be changing drastically, but I don't remember where this was mentioned.

2014 Park Map Info
A list of the (nonexistant) death tolls for Son of Beast, Drop Tower, and the (Original) Bat so that all the stupid rumors there can stop. Also, an explanation of why Vortex isn't sinking and a notice that at no point did The Beast ever operate with a loop. And perhaps a notice that not everything you read online is the infallible truth. (Bonjour)
