I hope you mean deceleration. Don't know too many brakes that cause you to accelerate (unless we are talking about negative acceleration in physics)
-
No, but you made reference to the ride operating this year, as your friend is working the ride.. so therefore he must be in operations of some capacity, or your statements do not hold up.

Yes, to start out the season, Kings Island said that WindSeeker and Vortex were going to be what was used for ERT, which caused an uproar. The fact that WindSeeker was not open for the first month the park was open, also put a damper on that.

And I bet in 1977, two things happened that probably wouldn't happen in today's society. Kings Island probably did their best to make up for the mishap (free tickets, merch etc) and everyone involved probably didn't try suing Kings Island. Not that this is fact by any means, but is probably a good representation of the changing of the times. (Although one might have an affect on the other.. maybe if people weren't so sue happy these days, then parks would be able to front a little more expenditures to inconvenienced guests)

This seemed like the most relevant topic without starting a new one.. but does anyone know if Marineland's (Canada) Topple tower has had the same issues as Dollywood's?

^ Just because the rides are the same, does not mean they give the same experience. I rode both CP's and KI's WindSeeker this past year, and its two completely different rides. Is the structure, and ride path basically the same? Sure. But the view of Ohio's rolling hills, compared to the view of looking over Lake Erie give you two completely different rides. -
Which really makes you wonder what the plan is for the land purchase at Carowinds, since there was a large rumor that it was to build a resort type area.

I think that is the first picture I have ever seen of Kings Island opening day. The park's skyline is completely different.

For both questions, weather will probably be a huge factor. Cold and cloudy versus Warm and sunny will create two different experiences. As far as I can find, the only date on WindSeeker is "Spring 2012" which covers a span of almost 3 months of operation. I would plan on it not being open, and if it is, will be a nice pleasant surprise. -
I must have been a lucky one, as my major career move was moving from a corn field in Indiana (an hour and a half away from Kings Island) to Mason. Granted I can usually only visit on weekends when it is busy.

But yet Disney also has a laundry list of "extra" perks you can pay for that don't entail the purchase price at the gate. Maybe that same family of 5, since they only get to visit the park on very rare occasions saves up the extra 100 bucks, so they get to enjoy the one day they do get to be at the park. There's nothing morally wrong with Fast Lane. It's a matter of marketing to different groups of people who wouldn't normally enter the park, or see the park as a more enjoyable experience because of it. Do I personally like Fast Lane at Kings Island? No, because I would never use it since I can visit the park X number of times a year, and it does add a couple minutes to my wait times when I do go. But because I use it, and it hinders 30 minutes of my full day at Kings Island, doesn't make it morally wrong.

They seem to have been removed or something of that nature, I was able to see a cached imaged on google, but when i clicked the link, it redirected me to Kings Island's homepage.

I don't think a ferris wheel would serve the purpose that they are meant to serve if it was in a building.

^^ Adventure Express is on the Family Rides page, which is a good location for it.

Then it has just been the past two or three years that that has been done. 2008 it opened Memorial day weekend, and 2005 it open Memorial Day weekend (not sure about the years between then) EDIT: And Carowinds and Cedar Point both opened on Memorial day this past year. I wonder what caused them to put Kings Island on a different schedule.

^^ Are you positive? I thought it opened up on Memorial day weekend for quite a while? Whatever KIC'S Boomerang Bay hours are based on, that would have fallen on Memorial day weekend.
