    I understand the want/need to move the corporate headquarters to a more business friendly location, but why move to NYC? There is Cleveland to the East, Columbus to the South, or even Chicago a few hours to the West, which would put you within 4-6 (driving) hours shot 4-6 parks. Edit: After plugging in the numbers, I find that Valley Fair and Worlds of Fun are a little further from Chicago than I calculated.

    I could see this being a viable option.. but at a different price point, especially for the abuse factor. This seems to be priced at just the opposite price point that Fast Lane passes were implemented at (or so we thought).. so low that anyone with a season pass that visits more than 3-4 times would really have to think about buying one. It would be much cheaper (and less of a hassle) than running to McDonalds to get two meals while at the park.

    I believe the thing that did in the cinema was the somewhat recent boom of the "Deerfield Town Center" area, along with Regal building a newer, bigger, better theater right at 5 miles away (and one exit past) the old showcace cinema.

    If we want to get particular... the first movie to win Best Picture(1931) was "Grand Hotel".. but Wings won an Oscar its first year for "Most Outstanding Production(1929)"

    You make it sound like an amusement park is just a second rate theme park, when this is not true. They are just two different types of parks, not to be compared. Disney world is a theme park. They have many parks that focus one facet or denominator. Islands of Adventure is an amusement park that contains many little theme parks within it. Paramount's Kings Island was a theme park, with the theme being "riding the movies". Kings Island, before and after Paramount, is an amusement park. A park that has some thematics, and a theme park are not the same thing

    I absolutely love Busch Gardens Williamsburg. It's tough to pick betweeen BGW and Islands of Adventure as my favorite park. Thanks for the trip report. We really want to make it over to BGW's christmastown in the near future.

    Well its pre-2005 since there is a Paramounts logo in the picture.. but I am going to go with early 2000's.. proably 2001

    Well I notice that there have been some pavers installed, so that puts it post non paver area, but old enough to still have some design around the fountain. As to the time frame of years this would give you, I would have no idea But maybe I have helped someone out

    If you teach students how to learn, and how to find knowledge using their resources, they will learn, and affectingly, will pass test scores. On the other hand, if a student is taught how to pass standardized tests, but not taught reasoning and how to search for knowledge, they will post good scores, but not excel at learning and retaining knowledge.

    I just don't see the correlation between how opening schools two weeks earlier will so greatly increase the level of education. Increasing the quality of education increases the level of education, but not teaching the same watered down knowledge for an extra two weeks.

    Well, there are plenty of lakes around Orlando... I bet a couple have fish in them sorry to hear about the sudden jolt in everything. I've been there, as my parents split up when I was younger, and know how hard it can be on all parties involved, . Keep your head up.

    Thank you standbyme. This has made the first two months of the off season not seem like such a let down. To get to see exciting pictures/comparisons of Kings Island everyday kind of kept the magic alive to me. I have never seen many older photos of what Kings Island has looked like, so it was nice being able to see what the parked used to look like, and even more getting a comparison today (with one minor exception ) Now the off season truly begins
