  1. I don't think there is anyway of concluding that a giga coaster is "very likely coming to Kings Island". Especially if this claim is being made on CW getting Levy. For one there were a ton of B&M hypers before behemoth was built, with tried and true success. This is the first ever B&M giga coaster built. It could be a complete failure
  2. ^ According to a certain someone (which I am sure some of you may know who I speak of but I will refrain from names) at Kings Island who had a Q & A session with myself and some other coaster enthusiasts, that is the goal of Kings Island moving forward, to restore that more classic amusement park feel. It was also mentioned that over the next few years thrill enthusiasts could be disappointed with the next few year of changes, but the goal is a better "park experience".
  3. Nice to see the patch of bushes/landscaping in the right hand bottom quarter of the picture stood the test of time. Once again, nicely done standbyme.
  4. Thanks for the post standbyme. I really wish International Street would go back to being "international". As it stands now, its just a strip mall of gift shops.
  5. ^ But yet, Cedar Point still has Platinum Pass instant renewal.
  6. I think its interesting, how in your first picture, you can pretty much still see the same infrastructure, but in this shot, almost everything has completely changed. Thanks again, standbyme!
  7. Standbyme, this is maybe one of the coolest things I have seen on this site. I really hope to get to see more of your masterpieces
  8. Cedar Fair has really gotten their act together on this. This was actually more of an issue early in the year, but they seemed to have worked out a lot of the kinks at most parks. I went to the following parks in the chain this year: Dorney (1 visit) - no issues Kings Dominion (3 visits) - had to go to GR for admission all 3 times, although they did let me in the parking lot even though it didn't scan Carowinds (2 visits) - no issues Canada's Wonderland (2 visits) - no issues, particularly noteworthy because this park always presented major challenges in the past Worlds of Fun (8 visits) - issues during our first four visits (in June) but no issues the last four (in August and September) Michigan's Adventure (1 visit) - no issues...I went to GR here first and they said that they just had their systems upgraded shortly before our visit Knotts (2 visits) - no issues Cedar Point (3 visits) - no issues I have had no issues at all in my visits to KD, Carowinds, and CP this year.
  9. But, nay, it will not be turned backwards, because it is not within the "manufacturer recommendations".
  10. It would take a lot for implementation, and I'm sure its something that has been thought of, but there's nothing that kills the mood more than getting off of, say, Diamondback, walking across the park to another ride, say, Invertigo, to find an hour and a half wait. It would be nice if the signs in front of the rides were first made digital, then tied to the network infrastructure to be able to shell out the wait times for any given ride (or just the top 10 or 15 would be fine).
  11. Isn't that the goal of any executive at any company?
  12. Yep they sure do. At least they have the last two years. Of course the policy for them could change anytime the felt like it (especially if an incident with them were to occur). Most of the lifeguards actually wear the same kind of shoe, just a different brand.
  13. My skeletoes work pretty good in the waterpark If you don't mind looking like a dork with individual toed shoes.
  14. I'm going to lean more towards it dealing with the ACE Spring Conference, which is May 18-20th at Cedar Point, two weeks before the usual weekend. I had heard previously that because of the spring conference that coastermania could fall back into fall, but i guess they decided on a date in July by what pkiboy has said
  15. in the past 5 years the number has ranged from 85 to 100 dollars.
  16. ^ I think his main point was that PETA is for animals to have equal rights to humans. While I have nothing against putting animals down for animal control, I am not for putting down children for human population control. To PETA, with their views, they should be one in the same.
  17. My guess is it is a lot easier to run the tests with 2 cars on the train. But that is just speculation.
  18. I'm for putting a stop to animal cruelty as much as the next person, because mistreating them is just wrong. But when you try to sue maybe the biggest company that does its own animal conservation efforts (between SeaWorld and Busch Gardens) for animal rights, someone has lost their mind. Does Sea World make money off of said killer whales? Yes. Does that make it slavery? No.
  19. Probably the best time to do it. Before it gets busy, and you have a station full of people complaining.
  20. ^ Yeah, he's not a very well-groomed son.
  21. You can get in after 7, with a pass or ticket, if you have not been into the park yet that day. What you can not do, is come to the park during the day (or earlier that night) and leave, then re-enter the park.
  22. I'm feeling kinda left out I'll be at Cedar Point and will have to leave before closing to make it home at a decent hour, haha. I'm hoping for a not so busy Sunday there, but not counting on it. I just keep telling myself the 48 degree temps will scare everyone away
  23. Check the Trip Reports Section of the forum. There are a lot of people who have posted their adventures at the park, along with photographs to go with them
