  1. Could it be for 2012's DA expansion? Kings Island has said that they plan on expanding it a little every year.
  2. Kings Island has stated in multiple facets (including on here) that howl-o-fest is still free with park admission. Above and beyond what they already do, they are also having a trick-or-treat with the dinosaurs. So if you don't pay for the dino's you will still get the same thing you have gotten in past years.
  3. What is the capacity of Wildebeest (fact sheet says 700 people an hour) compared to a water slide?
  4. Water coaster, mainly for the accessibility to a larger audience, and of course thrill factor, but I have to admit, the water loop looks pretty insane.
  5. I agree, a dinner (even the buffet) would make this price a little more "stomachable"
  6. I agree tomb raider.. i admit i have spent countless time trying to figure out what posts were liked.. I have found one.
  7. It's a pretty exclusive club... 12 participants per tour, I wonder how many tours there are a night.
  8. Thanks for the insight stky6. Nice to hear from someone who has actually went through and experienced DA. I had planned on going this past year, but never made it. There is always next year i suppose..
  9. Where was it addressed to? I would like to find out who got the letter.
  10. I don't have it on my ipod or iphone... but i do have it on my evo.
  11. YES.. calculus got mentioned in a amusement park forum (which should probably happen more than you think)
  12. I guess we will see in April how much of the parking lot is gone, and if any parking has been added in its place.
  13. You mean you don't like your steak rare, swimming in blood?
  14. They are not duplicating the wave pool. Its going to be a different kind of wave pool then the one we have now. And by looking at the concept drawlings, it looks like little if any of the parking lot will be where the wave pool is. Going by where the entrance is the wave pool would be in the grassy area, with maybe a slight corner off of the lot. And as for the cones you mentioned, ever thought these might be for the redesigned entrance.. that definitely goes out into the parking lot in the form of a walk way?
  15. Why would they want to announce a paving of the parking lot? The general public is not going to get excited about a new parking lot. They want new rides/attractions, a reason to come visit again this year. Our parking lot is better than the Scotland and Germany lots at BGW. And it is much much better than Kings Dominion where you basically drive on a gravel road to exit the park.
  16. Kinda reminds me of the FB page "Save Son of Beast" .. which has a lot more "likes" then Winterfest.. and well still no news.
  17. If you don't pay for parking downtown on the private lots owned by American Parking Co., first day they give you a 25 dollar ticket, the second time, they tow your car. It doesn't matter if it was 1 day later or 4 months later.
  18. Do I think its a ridiculous amount? Yes I do. But I also think its ridiculous to buy the same meal at Red Lobster for 50 bucks but to someone who likes seafood, it might seem like a nice trade off to not have to leave the park. And I can't judge quality, I have never eaten it.
  19. I kind of thought the same thing... It's what a little over half as long as Diamondback? EDIT: Ok I went and looked at the numbers at 3100 ft, its closet comparison would be Firehawk, at 3300 feet. So I guess its not that bad, considering a new design, and will seem pretty large at dollywood (thunderhead is 3200 ft.)
  20. I updated my post GYK, using numbers from Red Lobsters online menu for my local red lobster.
  21. Where are you going to red lobster where you can eat there for Under 10 bucks before tax and gratuity? Lets take for example.. Lobster Alfredo- 20.25, asparagus 2.25 extra, desert 6-8 dollars, Glass of wine 6-8 dollars (biscuits are included with your meal, so there is no price on them) So we come to 35 to 40 bucks before tax and Gratuity.. after tax and gratuity, depending on service and how much of a scrooge you are, you are looking at around 50 bucks a person for the same meal. So yea, its got a 20 dollar mark up on it.. but I can also get fries at McDonalds for 1.50 compared to 6 at mr. potato.
  22. hopefully this doesnt interfere with the ziplines... Already has see lawsuit http://themountainpr...sues-Dollywood- Well this could get interesting... hopefully they get things figured out and it doesn't interfere with the opening of the ride.
