The Beast-Kings Island ~or~ Thunderhead-Dollywood?
Titan replied to KingsIsland1972's topic in Kings Island
It all depends on your tastes. If you like coasters that are compact, have quick hills, and short turns, then Thunderhead will be right for you. But if you like spread out, bone jarring, and bigger hills, then Beast will be right for you. I like The Beast better, but that's just my opinion. -
It looks really good, makes me wish opening day was this weekend

My favorite now is Congo Falls. But I used to love KCKC.

I'm still deciding whether I'd like to see Boston and Kansas or the Beach Boys. Hmmmm, this may take a while.....

I assume you're talking about Diamondback?

Outer Hanks and sometimes Larosas

The Beach Closing after 27 Years
Titan replied to Gordon Bombay's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I remember going to the Beach back in '97, I had a very fun time there. It's a shame to see it close, but hearing what you guys have said about its recent conditions I'm not that surprised. -
Eagles for sure. Something about a 300 foot tall coaster resting in the skyline doesn't sit too well in the old stomach.

On the topic of King Cobra...... Correct me if I'm wrong. But I believe these are Kings Cobra's trains?
-
Here is a picture of one of the trains. The lap bar encloses around your lap instead of just resting on it.

All is not well in the kingdom

From experience, I can tell you that sometimes it is very hard to tell whether someone is drunk or not, depending on how much they have drank. -
Kings Island opens Saturday the 28th.

If I'm able to make it, I'll probably ride Diamondback first and then either Beast of Firehawk.

I also have one of the lights in the locker room at Riverfront hanging up in my garage. Anyways, I was wondering.... Could some of the items in Crypt be used for Adventure Express? The themes pretty much go hand-in-hand. The only problem I'd see is that they wouldn't be treated for the outdoors....

I really like the park's skyline in this picture.

The atmosphere, sometimes I'll just sit in the gardens and take pictures.

Blah, blah is all I was heard after my one ride on Son of Beast.

Thanks for sharing! My family wasn't the camping type, so I never had a chance to stay at the campground. But now I'm starting to wish that we would have stayed there during a couple of our trips.
-
I remember they did the same thing with the Crypt. Even though there was never a huge line, they still said it was one of the more popular attractions. I give kudos to Kings Island for being optimistic in negative situations.

I understand what you're saying Terpy and I'm still keeping an open-mind on it. You have to start somewhere and Invertigo was probably the best to start.....
-
The only problem I see (if it's considered a problem), is that Action Zone sort of has a specific color scheme; red, blue, and yellow. So with Invertigo's new flashy colors I'm afraid it will stand out like a sore thumb. It will look nice coming in from the entrance, but I'm not sure it will when you're viewing it from Action Zone. I don't think this will be a major problem, I guess I'm just thinking too hard..........

Six Flags Great Adventure King Cobra
Titan replied to mccarthysnerd's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I don't think it's shorter, it's just more compact than most slides. If it was spread out more it wouldn't look as short, but I think it would look odd (being in the corner of the park). And most of the slides with the "wedgie" ending are a lot shorter than this.
