Worst Rides to "Pop The Question" On
BB1 replied to bkroz's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I would think that The Beast would be another attraction located at Kings Island that one would not pop the question on. -
The first time I have ever heard of Dippin' Dots was in the early 2000's at Newport Aquarium. Later on, I began to see them everywhere, KI, NPA, and now in malls. But there is one keen difference, one was bagged, straight from the factory, the other is served open cup. Which version do you prefer? Better yet, would you prefer for your Dippin' Dots to be bagged at the park too, with multiple machines throughout the park without the Dippin' Dots Guy? For nostalgia purposes, I choose the bagged version, but I'm not so sure about the machines at the park.

Can I scream like a Banshee on that too? I love the interesting concepts that they have done in the years, amazing innovations in what I remember only in small packages in Newport Aquarium.

Let's see here:Boston has some old things and a harbor that had a wonderful tea time. Los Angeles (or something) is the city of angels. Denver is high. (Pun taken from an American Eagle shirt) Chicago has some blood that was lost to the wind. And Cincinnati is the Queen City, a major spot of commerce both in and around its region. As well, being the birthplace of the golden age of coasters with The Racer, and Kings Island. (Technically) I think not.

Edited for topic quality. Sorry about that, using some txt language while on the phone. Trying to break the habit!

I would think that the LifeGuards are going to be transferred to be security for KSF. Maybe, maybe not.

Kings Island is in Ohio; any Indiana regulations are not applicable. How does the Indiana Liquor sales and Chik-Fil-A closing on Sunday affect the fireworks show? (I'm just curious on your inquiry) Definitely get on to either The Beast or The Racer for a prime show of the fireworks. Although, personally, the first fireworks show of the year is the best; possibly from the long dormancy?

(I knew it was somewhere in the 2016-2018 time frame.) But even then, since we are talking about hypotheticals here, I could see Mr. Ouimet doing something with the themes that were originally there. Heck, we could have possibly seen the full Top Gun theme back from the olden days in 2007.
-
If I am correct, doesn't Cedar Fair have licensing towards Paramount names, logos, themes, effects, & props until 2016(edited from the response below)? Therefore creating an idea that Mr. Ouimet could have integrated their themes even with the, at the time, new Cedar Fair spearhead effort to "clean up" the Island.

I wish I could make it! Work was in the way and I was far too tired after to go to the park after. It sounds like you all had a great time, thanks for the TR!

So, should we just marathon Woodstock Express for an hour to give it the attention it deserves?I'm excited, also glad for KI to finally get a coaster event unilaterally rather than meet ups and MDs.

Ed Hart will (hopefully) be able to mark his park in that category......someday...That is something I personally like, variety. Hey, if I don't want the Fast Pass/ Fast Lane/Skip the line system, I will just go somewhere else. But, if I do, like in WDW parks, I go and have fun. Trust me, it is a blessing at certain parks, a curse in others.

1. Maybe it is just the photo, but the black base for that fountain looks like lake water. 2. It is safe to say that International Street needs a whole revamp. I feel like some one tried to mash Germany, Spain, France, and Cedar Point in one spot. I would not mind to see some Roman columns at each corner of the fountains, and a nice classical pick me up in the whole section, especially in the music department.

Thoughts on Geauga Lake's Big Dipper
BB1 replied to KI Guy's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Hey, I wouldn't mind having our first Dippin' Dots themed coaster at Kings Island. Put it up some where in the back, put in a Dippin' Dots stand right next to it, heck even put in a podium for the notorious Dippin' Dots Guy! All joking aside, I do think that Cedar Fair has a coaster that it could buy and still bring some thrills to any park. Now, to which park, I would imagine due to resources and the cheapest move, Dorney Park, Cedar Point, or Kings Island. Kings Island just got a coaster, and more than likely, in my opinion, the next addition could be a flat or a waterpark add on. Cedar Point, well, they seem to be hinting towards a new coaster, making an addition less than likely. BUT they both have ample space for the coaster in areas that could be added on. Dorney Park, same thing, they just got an addition in the waterpark, easily allowing for a new addition in the hard park. Plus, unlike MA, CP, KI, DP has a very small wooden coaster count, easily allowing for a new wooden coaster to come in for 2015. Now, in regards to reality, Cedar Fair may not take such a risky move. It is dilapidated, old, and somewhat in a state of major repair. Such a move would not be the best thought, but hey, anything could happen. -
SR&R gone?! I didn't even get to ride SR&R this year for my annual credit. I expect one of the following to come after this: A. Bring me back my Eagles. B. Bring back my SR&R, only due to how popular it is for the kiddos. I really do hope that they bring this back, because truly, this is one of those childhood favorites in Coney, and I wish that the same does not come for The Spider. (Now known as The Monster by Cedar Fair)

Why so down on Kentucky Kingdom? It's a great little park. While I must agree, there are multiple dealios that we are dealing with. First off, HW and KK are basically in each others' backyards, just a few seconds away is a HW ad. Secondly, with that being said, the market of local visitors will fluctuate to either for certain reasons. The most of the market being those who are looking for thrills may want to get to HW before KK. Oh, and plus KK doesn't have the resources to produce a 22 mil B&M at the momento, making HW have just one more step up than what the local and beyond markets have. Ala Gate or Wild.

Woah woah woah woah, I'm usually the theme nazi and I'm very impressed! I cannot see how this isn't themed! It sounds like we have a stud over here, butter me up, or lather in olive oil, and call me cold turkey! There's an amazing shedish log cabin that you literally soar through, you go through a small farm, heck you shoot out of a barn! It looks amazing! I cannot see how you have that disposition!

Time for a info-flush. (Blurb: Today, I was wondering what this was called, I kept calling it thunderhawk but Thunderbird is the true name, ironic?) Thunderbird, finally a piece of Thanksgiving devoted to the Native Americans. The whole attraction looks like my kind of deal. In the lower 100's, it still reaches 60 MPH and it still has some amazing turn around capabilities. I love the shed as well, interesting piece if you ask me. In regards to the campaign though, I will have to agree that this makes little sense. Sure, I can see how the Thunderbird ties in, but at the same time, that POV doesn't make me feel like the Voyage will be dominated, or canopied by it. Thunderbird seems to have its' own feel, own vibe, own taste and will almost be a standalone coaster not being related to Voyage. Onto the favorite piece, the overall view: Dear heavens I think I may have found my new favorite ride. (Have yet to ride Banshee though, it's on my list for this Aug.).

The fail factor of that single quote,......wow...... So what does DisneyLand have in relation to a time spot, three? Four?

What was used from KIC?

I go and pay to get into Kings Island Halloween Haunt and expect to go through all of their Haunts that they have to offer when I purchase my Gold Pass under that price. No way am I going to pay A Few Dollars More for a single Haunt when I could put that money into purchasing tix to Orlando's finest halloween event, no sorry kiddos, it's not the Not So Scary category. I would feel like I was conned, bamboozled, hoodwinked* for my cash if they do that, I love love love love love X10 the Kings Island Haunt method that they had last year; the Skeleton Key only making it better. But I couldn't imagine myself paying more for something like that, nor have I ever before, I never rode Thunder Alley (Where tall people come to get some uncomfort) until my free-bee with Fun Perks. *Edited for Terp's ever so inquisitive nature in regards to my occasional diction.

Alright here's my thesis with the past few "leads". First off, in regards to the storm, I personally believe that it is an allusion, and an analogy for Thunder Run and Lightning Run both now "rocking" the boat that was added this year, The MayFlower. Secondly, the children personally sound like the enthusiasts, but something about the posts makes since of this. With the older children being able to go top side, it was referring to those who got the word on the 66 Days at Sea and those who witnessed a few events by admin. Third, to the big bang of the whole op, the attraction. I personally think this will be an B&M family attraction for 2015. Invert or not, it will be fun for everyone, with possibly a few inversions and a few water effects scattered around. In any circumstance, the addition would be amazing for 2015 at Holiday World.

All year I've been told to have a FUN day, to have fun at the park no matter what. To be honest, it's true I do have fun at the park, whether in memories, marathons, or even the semi occasional stroll around Kings Island taking in the sights and sounds of my home park. So, I thought it would be a good idea to share what are things that are fun to do at Kings Island, or any other park. For me, having fun is like I said. Riding The Beast, it just is an experience that makes me smile. Going down into the pit that we know as the first tunnel, or going through the woods at a (somewhat) rampant speed. Or how about starting out my day at Delirium with Early Ride Times, going back and forth, and spinning round and round reminds me of being a child and riding the swings while twisting the chain. Plus, I'll admit it, I'm a fan of spinny rides that go really fast. But, of courseI cannot forget the waterpark. It's the same old slides that I rode long ago, bringing vivid memories of going down my first time, or getting the thrill of my life on Tropical Twisters and Rendezvous Run. It just brings about that warm fuzzy feeling of peace and happiness being at a place that I could unwind at, and have fun at, in my opinion, the best part of the park's property. Oh, might I add a special thanks to everyone at the park who makes the fun work and run properly and safely! #KIBestDay !

I would like to see the International Street Restaurant get a refurbishment and become a full operation take place instead of what is going on now. (wishful thinking of course)
