The chainsaws at the end were a nice touch. However, I always love going in there, even if it is a little weird at times. Also, did you notice it was darker (lighting-wise) than last year? The very first tine I went thru and last Saturday night it was dark in some parts, .

Enjoyed reading the trip report and your thoughts on each of the houses. Personally, I thought Urgent Scare was better than last year. I went in making Spongebob jokes and came out waiting for my group as I got seperated lol. I feel like (at least went I went thru) they focused more on scares this year than last year. Last year was like waiting for a big finale that fizzled out at the end; however, ymmv based on different factors. Also, glad you got the glasses for Carnevil- it makes some rooms a lot more trippy! Finally, no Slaughter House?

Thank you for sharing @TombRaiderFTW; that was a very interesting (and sort of eerie) video. It seemed eerie as there was almost nothing going on except for the carriage rides and the main Carousel's operation (also, most of the rides had been taken apart). However, it was interesting to see an unpainted (or differently painted, perhaps?) WildCat.

What an interesting thought, especially considering that the Disney Parks with a coaster usually have only 1 or 2 thrilling headliners (Everest, Space Mountain in Paris, Rock n Roller Coaster, California Screamin'...) along with Big Thunder, Space Mountain and the kids coasters (Barnstormer). Curious to see what kind of coaster this'll turn out to be...

I have heard of Winter Chill out, but I meant like park-wise Holiday event for guests, like Winterfest or Festival of Lights. I was wondering as I could see CP potentially having a Winterfest if things are successful at the Cedar Fair parks doing it this year.

Wow, that drop is steep; can't wait to ride next year! Also, random question, has Cedar Point ever had a Winter event (like Winterfest)?

Is it just me, or are there cracks/holes in the roof of the former Attitudes building? Also, I really like the Haunt posters on the construction wall!

Thanks for the update and enjoy the show! For those who don't know, even though Haunt technically starts at 7 PM on Saturday nights, indoor mazes open at 6 PM. I say this as Saturday nights are usually super busy and my tip is that if there's an indoor maze you really want to do, get there early and do it first. I got to "Beast Path" at 5:15 and was part of the first group for Slaughter House when it opened around 6 PM.

Currently in line for Beast and as far as I can tell (I'm not in the station yet) there are no switchbacks. Diamondback's line didn't look too bad from across the way (a little past the stairs). EDIT: Yep, no switchbacks!

Today is not too bad thus far (2 cycle wait for Delirium, "last set of stairs" wait and then less for Bat, approx. a cycle wait for Viking Fury), but I feel like it may get busier. Currently in line for Adventure Express (probably longest line thus far), but it's moving and will probably be about 5-10 min.

I really like Hejdlost's design; the way it uses the terrain makes me think of Beast or Voyage. However, I'm not crazy about the color scheme (I think I'd go for forest green track and brown supports), but I could get used to it.

New Years at KI would be amazing! If weather permitted, I think I'd pick Firehawk to be the ride I'd be on when the clock struck midnight to ring in the new year!

Looking at the Dinos Memorial thread got me thinking... wonder what will happen to Field of Screams after Dinos leaves (since there will presumably be construction for whatever cones next)

What a great thread idea KIGhostGuy! Even before the official announcement of DA's closure, I took lots of pics and some video (which I can post later) for a time such as this. In fact, last time I walked the trail, I bought a coin bank and got a free pencil (because BOGO) to remember DA by. To me, DA was always a nice diversion away from the crowds. I really enjoyed walking the trail (just as I enjoyed WWC's old trail that got removed for Mystic) and more recently, DA was my go-to spot for Pokemon Go. I'll miss it a little, but I look forward to what's on the horizon. I can only hope there is another peaceful walking trail added somewhere in the park (the closest thing to that now is The Bat's queue and maybe Tower Gardens).

It doesn't nessarily have to go to KI, but I think a winged giga (a B&M Wing Coaster that is 300+ feet tall) would be really cool.

Per @Magenta Lizard, the Undertaker was there late Friday night. I too missed his presence in the park. But oh my gosh, Al (the troll) is the coolest thing ever (well, besides Sam, Urgent Scare, and the other new additions to the park (like the surprise ending to Wolf Pack...)).

So, to follow up on this post, I've officially decided to call him "Al".

That troll was so awesome! Glad you got a pic of him with his eyes open; in mine, he's sleeping lol. I'm trying to figure out what to name him, but there are so many names that work. Wonder if he has an official name?

I wonder how this'll work, as the maze is outside-will the Skeleton Key people be taken down a different path or something? Oh well, guess some will find out tomorrow night! Also, Mystic looks nice on that map!

In addition to my earlier suggestions, I think you all should ask Don what his favorite maze and scare zone are.

Maybe interview the cast of Blood Drums and get some "person on the street" interviews from the roamers? That could be fun!

"Christmas in the Bayou" could still be a thing... we shall see! But yeah, I do get that the focus is on Winterfest as it's the "new" thing. However, I'm sure Haunt will be exciting as always, even if there isn't a new maze to explore. -MDMC, who is starting to get pumped for tommorrow night!

I figured Wasteland would be near Mystic due to the company used for Wasteland's backstory being similar. Looking forward to trying the new areas out tommorow!
