  1. What a great thread idea KIGhostGuy! Even before the official announcement of DA's closure, I took lots of pics and some video (which I can post later) for a time such as this. In fact, last time I walked the trail, I bought a coin bank and got a free pencil (because BOGO) to remember DA by. To me, DA was always a nice diversion away from the crowds. I really enjoyed walking the trail (just as I enjoyed WWC's old trail that got removed for Mystic) and more recently, DA was my go-to spot for Pokemon Go. I'll miss it a little, but I look forward to what's on the horizon. I can only hope there is another peaceful walking trail added somewhere in the park (the closest thing to that now is The Bat's queue and maybe Tower Gardens).
  2. It doesn't nessarily have to go to KI, but I think a winged giga (a B&M Wing Coaster that is 300+ feet tall) would be really cool.
  3. Per @Magenta Lizard, the Undertaker was there late Friday night. I too missed his presence in the park. But oh my gosh, Al (the troll) is the coolest thing ever (well, besides Sam, Urgent Scare, and the other new additions to the park (like the surprise ending to Wolf Pack...)).
  4. So, to follow up on this post, I've officially decided to call him "Al".
  5. Good point, he definetely caught my attention, even though Additudes has been ripped apart and CPW (Coney Potato Works) is no more.
  6. That troll was so awesome! Glad you got a pic of him with his eyes open; in mine, he's sleeping lol. I'm trying to figure out what to name him, but there are so many names that work. Wonder if he has an official name?
  7. I wonder how this'll work, as the maze is outside-will the Skeleton Key people be taken down a different path or something? Oh well, guess some will find out tomorrow night! Also, Mystic looks nice on that map!
  8. In addition to my earlier suggestions, I think you all should ask Don what his favorite maze and scare zone are.
  9. Maybe interview the cast of Blood Drums and get some "person on the street" interviews from the roamers? That could be fun!
  10. "Christmas in the Bayou" could still be a thing... we shall see! But yeah, I do get that the focus is on Winterfest as it's the "new" thing. However, I'm sure Haunt will be exciting as always, even if there isn't a new maze to explore. -MDMC, who is starting to get pumped for tommorrow night!
  11. I figured Wasteland would be near Mystic due to the company used for Wasteland's backstory being similar. Looking forward to trying the new areas out tommorow!
  12. When you do get that next ride, I recommend getting an odd numbered row as, IMO, they aren't as rough as the even rows. I think that 80% of the time, Flight of Fear is a lot of fun. Then again, it's not for everybody. Also, Saturdays during Haunt are packed (though I don't know much about the line distribution between mazes and ride lines), but head to FoF first thing if you really want to do it.
  13. Well, that didn't take long! Wonder how/when it was demo'd... I agree with IndyGuy, it will definitely be interesting to see what happens next.
  14. Agreed and agreed. I'd love to see another Top Spin at KI as well as a Zamperla Hawk 48, Jump2, and maybe even an S&S Sky Swat (if they even make those anymore...). The flats we have now are great (looking at you, Delirium, Drop Tower and Zephyr!), but the above flats at KI would be amazing!
  15. Yeah, I think I got that reference from Terpy (or someone else on here, can't remember...)!

    Haunt

Yes, it's much more fun to have them stay in character- that's the magic of Haunt after all! After dark, your friends become someone else (not just Gator/Sam, but other scareactors I know) and you get to see a different side of them that you wouldn't normally see. Not only do you get to interact with people you know, but you get to make new friends as well (such as meeting Thumbs last year) and that's pretty cool too!
  17. Before I read PhantomTheater's post, I was just going to say, well, at least I can still go to the one at CP. Oh well. I guess the reason I enjoyed our Additudes so much is that (the shop itself) is from at least the 90's as it was known as "The Rock Shop" back then. 18. Well, this is certainly interesting. The main connection I have to the area (other than passing those two locations to get to Flight of Fear, Firehawk and Vortex) is that Coney Potato Works was my first location when I worked in Foods (which, along with St. Funnel, were the settings for my first job), but I won't miss it that much. Also, Attitudes was cool (which, oddly enough, I may miss that more than the building formally known as "It's Fried" and Midway Treats and Eats), but I'm pretty sure the merch can be relocated elsewhere. Now that everything is blocked off, it makes me think it could be something bigger than a restaurant, like, perhaps a flat ride or two*? *Then again, it could be Smokehouse 2: Electric Boogaloo. EDIT: I am awaiting what will be done with this space; only time will tell...
  19. I love Kings Island for a lot of reasons; shall I name them? -Cirque -The Bat -(most of) the shows -nostalgia (like seriously, when I think about/look the park's old 90's website, it makes me want to go back there again*) -older (as in, pre-2001) rides like Drop Zone (yes, I said it lol), Beast, Flight of Fear, Adventure Express and Vortex (and of course The Bat, fka Top Gun) -Firehawk and our other unique coasters (like seriously, we have one of only three Vekoma Flying Dutchman models from the early 2000s!!!) -Soak City, especially the fact that you can enjoy the old (the slides formally known as Bonsai Pipeline, Sidewinder, Helix and Rushing River + Breakers) along with the new (Tropical Plunge)- heck, only one slide complex has gone down since it's opening. -The fun of being an associate there (and in a way, giving back) for 10 seasons! -Lest I forget Haunt and its crazy cast of characters like Big Daddy, Evil Santa, Thumbs and of course, Sam the Butcher! EDIT: Forgot about the food such as Tom + Chee, Chicken Shack's bread, Auntie Anne's Pretzels, LaRosas's Pizza and Starbucks ...and there's probably a lot more reasons, but those are all I could think of at the moment. *Also, side-note, I think it would be really cool if the park (or more likely, another enthusiast) could recreate this site (URL: https://web.archive.org/web/19970129110334/http://www.pki.com:80/ ), but updated to reflect modern KI such as Banshee, Soak City, Diamondback and Mystic Timbers
  20. I remember that. I didn't see any scareactors in AZ though, only theming (though maybe I visited AZ during the day, I don't remember...).
  21. I really haven't made up my mind with what I want to go in the KI theatre. IMO, this year of Cirque was the best, but I'd be ok if there was a different type of show as I feel that Cirque has ended on a high note. Then again, I feel like I'd miss Cirque upon seeing the new show, whatever it may be. However, I'm open to the possibilities. Also, with the popularity of Cirque, it's likely there will be a Season 5 with a new cast. Personally, I'd love for some of this year's cast to return in 2018, but I'm sure I'd warm up to a new cast over time!
  22. For most of the season, Red has been smoother than Blue. However, Red Racer was surprisingly bumpy/rough when I last rode it (on 8/27),
  23. I wonder if there will be any special effects (such as lights or projections) that will involve the tiles...
  24. I selected Ground Up and Hybrid, because a custom RMC at KI would be cool.
