I understand that you can't get your pass swiped more than once per visit, but if someone had their hand stamped before they left they still could not re-enter the park?
-
This might be a dumb question, but why can't you enter the park after 7pm? It seems like if you have a season pass you should be able to come to the park at any time during it's operating hours. I've never been to Halloween Haunt, so does it work differently for that?

Yes that is an awesome ride. Just watched a video of this on YouTube. This ride looks amazing! We definitely need something like this at Kings Island!

Favorite (and Least Favorite) Halloween Candy
Voicetek replied to LongLiveTheSmurfRide's topic in KI Polls
Ah man I love those things (the orange and black wrapped candies)! They are like peanut butter chews or something, but I really do like them. I also really liked Bit-O-Honey when I was a kid too and still do. I remember going to the store and buying it. Maybe I'm just weird and like candy no one else likes lol. However, some of my favorites also included Milky Ways and 3 Musketeers! And screw the "bite sized" candy bars, give me the whole thing! LOL -
I'd add another family friendly dark ride that wasn't necessarily interactive. One that you could just sit back, relax, and enjoy. It might even be nice to have one that was water based again like the old Enchanted Theater or Smurf ride.
-
This is tough...I'd like both Phantom Theater and Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle! Except for Scooby-Doo, I'd enhance it with full motion animatronics of all the characters instead of those cheap cardboard cutouts that they used :-)
-
My first coaster was probably The Beastie at KI. From there I worked up to the Adventure Express, then Racers, then Beast, then Vortex. I was a late bloomer when it came to coasters. I was always scared of them for some reason, but the more I rode them, the more I loved them. I'll pretty much ride anything now.

Was KI better off with some other company than cedar fair or cedar fair

It's hard to say. They did give us Diamondback, but also Boo Blasters on Boo Hill. Sooo..... -
Move One Ride from Anywhere in the Country to KI
Voicetek replied to MarketingExpress's topic in Coming Attractions
I know most people would probably move an extreme coaster to KI, but I'd actually like something a little different. I'd actually move Splash Mountain from the Magic Kingdom in Disney World to KI. Not exactly sure where I'd put it, lol, but I think it's such a classic and unique ride. I'd love to have something like that here at KI! -
Yes I agree, it was great this weekend! This was the first Saturday that we've been all summer where the crowds weren't overtaking the park. Yes there was that threat of bad weather, but it never did get too bad Saturday. I think it rained for about 15 minutes around 8:30 Saturday night at the park. We were waiting in line for some $1 cotton candy and it started to drizzle a little bit. Nothing too bad. After we got our cotton candy we rode Boo Blasters and by the time we got off it had stopped raining. We very much enjoyed the deals too! I grabbed some LaRosa's pizza in the Festhaus and then a little bit later down by The Beast. We also couldn't help be treat ourselves to some blue ice cream before heading out. I also stocked up on some $1 bag of cotton candy to take home with me! All in all it was a great weekend and the deals were a big hit. I'm looking forward to heading back to the park in October to enjoy the park in the fall weather.

Anyone else make it out to the park today to enjoy all the $1 specials at the park? The girlfriend and I decided to take a trip out to the park today and take advantage of all the deals. We weren't sure what the weather was going to do, but we decided to go to the park just to grab some pizza and ice cream! The deals were great! And the best thing, mininal crowds at the park! I was actually kind of surprised because of it being a holiday weekend with $1 food and games. We enjoyed some LaRosa's pizza for a buck a slice first. We then grabbed another slice later on in the evening at another LaRosa's location. A bit later it was a $1 blue ice cream cone and before we headed home, we grabbeda few bags of cotton candy for a buck each. I loved all that they offered today, it was quite a deal! It would be nice if they did this more often. If anyone else was there today, did it seem like more people were eating in the park? We noticed quite a few people eating pizza and ice cream, and we noticed many, many bags of cotton candy being held by the guests. It seemed like more people bought food. If this was the case, I wonder if Kings Island made more or less in food sales. I wonder if this might entice the park to lower some food prices? I know if the food was cheaper, we'd eat there more often. I'd be curious to know what they made in food sales even with the dollar specials. If any of you make it out there this weekend, try to keep an eye open and see if you notice more people eating in the park. I'd encourage everyone to try to go before the weekend is over and take advantage of some of these deals! They were a lot of fun and well worth the trip!

My dad and I used to play the Peach Basket ball toss game when I was younger and we were both really good at it. My trick was to toss the ball underhand towards the left side of the basket while putting a little spin on it. The ball would hit the inside of the basket and the spin would take over and cause the ball to roll down to the bottom. It was getting to the point where I would win every time I played using this technique. Back then though, it was only $1 per ball so I would play quite often.

I was bullied in elementary school and into the first half of Jr. High. I became overweight in second grade and also grew up in a single parent home where money was tight. I never had the latest fashions or the coolest haircuts. It didn't help either that I was shy and not very athletic. Kids used to call me fat and tell me to lose weight. In Jr. High kids used to hide my books all over the school and run up behind me and pull my pants down in the hall. In my opinion I had it pretty bad. I can sympathize with kids who are bullied. However, I don't understand why kids would take their own life because of it. What good did that do? You just let the bully win and not only that, you've caused a lifetime of hurt to your friends and family. As bad as I was bullied and as much as I dreaded going to school and no matter how sad or depressed it made me, I never once considered suicide. It's really not an escape. I feel sorry for the kids who feel like it's their only option.

Just to comment on what TheCrypt said, I did forget to mention the theming! The theming on some of the rides were great, especially Mystery Mine! I also loved the animitronic vulture that sat outside the ride queue and told the story of Mystery Mine. That really added to the feel of the ride! And yes, Blazing Fury was a great ride....Fire in the hole!

We sat near the back on Thunderhead (thanks for reminding me of the name!). Maybe "beat up" was too strong of a term to use. It did throw me around quite a bit though. I, personally, didn't catch any of the shows. However, my mom and nephew watched part of one. We were thinking about going back a third day to watch shows, but our schedule ended up not allowing for that. I can't remember the name of the place that we ate, but I got a chicken fingers meal and my girfriend got the pulled pork sandwhich. We both really enjoyed our food. My mom, sister and nephew ate at the 50's diner and they said the food was good there too. Some of the places sold these cookies that were wrapped up 2 for $1. Those cookies were fabulous lol! We bought quite a few of those to snack on throughout the day. As far as going back down around Christmas, that's kind of up in the air right now. First we have to consider budget, if we have the money to go or not and then we have to figure out what our schedule will be around that time. We've all talked about it, but we'll just have to see. We'd all like to go, but you know how that is...it all kind of revolves around money and time unfortunately.

So last week I went on vacation with my family which consisted of my mom, sister, neice(9), nephew(5), and my girlfriend. We went down to Pigeon Forge and rented a cabin from August 18-25. During our week down there, one of our main plans was to visit Dollywood. I went to Dollywood back in the early 90's when I was around 12 or so, but haven't been there since. I was excited to check out the park and be able to enjoy it again as an adult. Our first day in the park was Sunday August 19. I wasn't sure what the crowds were going to be like, but to my surprise, there were hardly any crowds at all! The weather was pleasant, not too hot, it was just right. It had rained earlier that morning and it remained slightly overcast. We arrived around noon and entered the park. Since we had my nephew with us we knew we'd spend some time riding some of the smaller rides, which was ok. We had invested in a season pass several months ago when they were running a special online. We knew we'd come at least 2 days and maybe a third if we needed more time to ride rides. I wasn't as concerned with trying to see everything in one day, so this allowed us to sort of relax and just take our time. The first thing we rode were the little cars that you drive around the track. This was perfect for my nephew who's 5. He loves cars and he loved the fact that he could take his uncle (me) on a ride around the track. My neice, who's 9, rode with my girlfriend. I get a lot of enjoyment watching the kids have fun and experience new things, so I was perfectly content starting off the day with some smaller rides. I knew I'd eventually get to the big coasters a bit later. After the cars we headed for the train. My nephew loves trains and it was all he talked about, he wanted to ride the train! So we headed up the walkway to the train station and wouldn't you know it, the train was just pulling away. At Dollywood the train makes a trip once every hour. We had just missed the 1 o'clock ride and the next ride would leave at 2. At this point my nephew had become interested in one of the shows so my mom decided to sit there with him so he could hear the singing and my girlfriend and I could take my neice to ride some bigger rides and then meet them back at 1:45 to ride the train. From there we headed to the Blazing Fury. This was one of the few things I remembered about Dollywood when I was a kid. I was too afraid to ride it then because I didn't like coasters yet, but this time I couldn't wait to get on. That ride is definitely unique. It's like part dark ride, part coaster and the few drops that they do have take you by surpise! They're not big drops, just enough to be fun! Once we got off it was time to head back to the train and we made it just in time to load up. We took a very nice ride on the Dollywood Express and got to see more areas of the park. I noticed the new Wild Eagle as well as the Texas Tornado and their wooden coaster (the name escapes me at the moment). After seeing these, I knew what I wanted to do later that day! After the train ride we decided to split up again. My mom took my nephew down to the "Fair" area and we took my neice to ride some of the bigger coasters. Before this though, we stopped and grabbed some lunch. After lunch we headed for the Wild Eagle! The wait was practically nothing. We walked right in and up to the loading station. I think we might have waited ten minutes if that. That ride is amazing! It was my first experience on a winged coaster and it is quite an experience! It's very smooth and it's nice not having a track above or below you. You truly do feel like you're flying! After the Wild Eagle, we headed for Mystery Mine! This ride is quite unique. I loved the 90 degree parts of the track where it takes you literally straight up and then straight down. I've never ridden anything quite like that before in my life! The only complaint though is that it was kind of rough. It really gives you a beating and after that my head hurt somewhat. It really through me for a loop! We decided to save the 2 other coasters for the next day in the park and head back to meet up with my mom and nephew. On our way back though we noticed the Barnstormer and decided to take a ride on that. That is a very fun ride! You swing back and forth so high and you catch some serious air time! I'd like to see something like that at KI! Since we were right there, we caught I ride on the Slidewinder which was quite fun. You get kind of wet, but not too bad. It's a fun ride on a big water slide and it's fun going into the tunnels and around the curves. Great experience! So we then headed back to the Fair area and caught some rides on the smaller rides such as the ferris wheel, the kiddie coaster and tea cups. After that my sister took the kids on one more ride on the train and by that time it was about time to go. I enjoyed walking around quite a bit because there were no crowds and you could just take your time and appreciate the scenery and the atmosphere! We came back for a second day on Wednesday August 22. This day though it was quite a bit hotter and there were more people. I won't go into as much detail about this day, but I will recap some of the rides we rode. We did manage to catch the other two coasters. The Texas Tornado was very fun. It was short, but effective! The wooden coaster was really crazy! Very fast and very twisty! I've never ridden anything quite like that. It sure beat the heck out of me though! We also caught a ride on the Smoky Mountain Adventure simulator ride. Those are always fun and it was something that the whole family could ride including my mom and my nephew. We did catch a ride or two on the Dollywood Express and had a nice lunch. All in all it was a pretty good day again. So now I've gotten to experience Dollywood again and it was quite fun. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the scenery and the mix of rides they have at the park. I think the whole family found something they could enjoy there. Since we have the season passes, we might try to go down again around Christmas time and see it all lit up. If not though, I feel like we saw everything we wanted to see and had a great time!

Ah I get it...yep, protein spill sounds a lot better

This might be a stupid question, but I've seen it before on here. What exactly is a protein spill?

Thats pretty cool! You were leaving just as we were getting there

Question 1: I would definitely use Disney's transportation service. I went down in 2004 and stayed at one of the All-Star resorts (mine was the movies one) and I used their bus system. I was very handy and didn't take too long. You might just want to find out when the last bus will be at the park to pick you up. If you're staying extra late at a particular park, make sure you can still get transportation back to your resort. Also, there is transportation to and from all the different parks so it's easy to get from one park to the other if you plan on doing multiple parks in one day. I've been to Disney 4 times now, but 2004 was the first and only time I used the transportation provided and I loved it! Question 2: Fast Pass is a gift from God! There are "must do" rides at all of the Disney parks, so I would recommend figuring out which rides you absolutely must do and then try to Fast Pass those. Space Mountain is a good one to Fast Pass at Magic Kingdom, as well as Splash Mountain. Whenever I went down there I would Fast Pass a ride with a crazy long line, then go and check out some shops or catch a ride with a shorter wait and then come back and use my Fast Pass. It works great! Oh, and try to stay around the area that your Fast Pass ride is in. The Disney Parks are huge and you want to make sure you have enough time to make it back to your ride. Final Tip - The Magic Kingdom is probably one of my favorite parks because they have so many cool rides and attractions. Some things I would definitely recommend checking out are: 1. Splash Mountain. Easily one of my favorite rides in the park! This is a dark ride/log flume with some amazing theming and animatronics, plus an awesome drop! 2. Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. This is an awesome interactive dark ride. You get lazer guns and get to shoot targets (like Boo Blasters but only a million times better). They have some pretty amazing theming and animatronics as well. 3. Mickey's Philharmagic. This is my favorite non-ride attractions in Magic Kingdom. This is a 4D show that includs revamped computer animated scenes from many of Disney's best animated movies! It's complete with lights, sounds, smells and things you can feel. I went back and saw this show multiple times and left completely amazed each time. There are specific showtimes throughout the day, so check the schedule and try to take in a showing! 4. Pirates of the Caribbean. Need I say more? This is a class Disney ride! They've also re-themed this ride and added some new elements from the movies. I rode this last year and it's even more fun than I remembered. Well that's about it. Have a great trip and remember that you can't do/see everything, it's just too big! Get some maps and try to plan out exactly what you want to see then try to Fast Pass those things so you're sure to get those in. Other than that, just enjoy the Disney atmosphere...there really is no other place like it!

I rode the very front seat a few weeks ago and it beat the crap out of me! I was seriously messed up the rest of the night. I had to walk over to first aid and get some ibuprofen for my head before I could start to enjoy myself again. Not sure if it was the seat I was in, or if it's just the ride (or myself) getting old, but dang did it hurt!
-
Holy crap! I probably would've wet myself!
-
Are you kidding me? LOL What in the world? Couldn't find the entrances? Did they even look? Kings Island has big signs with the ride names right above the entrances, that should be enough. If that's not enough, how hard is it to look for the queue lines and trace them back the the entrance? This is one post I really don't understand.
