In terms of making it "Camp Snoopy", they COULD do it but there would have to be significant additions to make it worth it. I personally like it how it is but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be updated. Boo Blasters needs to be redone. Also I always thought they should get a GG or GCI kids woodie where the petting zoo is.

What's up with Kings Dominion?
SonofBaconator replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I honestly think they're getting a B&M. From a reliability standpoint Kings Dominion has been at the short end of the stick for years. Love them or hate them B&M is reliable and worth the money. A wing coaster would suit this park well -

It could be a haunt building that might tie into the a space theme. Also, and this is a stretch, this could be used as a temporary queue similar to Banshee just for opening weekend as well as a haunt building for later

Possibly the tire propel launch one in San Antonio. That one's pretty amateur, even for Intamin standards so I would hardley consider that a groundbreaking feat

Dive is the new Invert?

That was the early 2000s. Could S&S/ RMC create larger versions of their 4d free spins to mimic X2? -
Until the cost of operating Intamin coasters goes down, don't expect any additions to Cedar Fair in the near future. Maybe smaller additions are a possibility but their operating costs are still outrageous.

I don't like this idea personally. I like the transition of nothingness between the dry park and the waterpark. They don't need to compact things like CP does. Also regarding intamin, they cost a crap ton of money to maintain. If Cedar Fair could justify the cost of maintaining intamin coasters then they would be working with them right now. There's a reason that chain hasn't worked with them since 2010.

That's not a bad assumption, especially since Mack is expensive and B&M is literally in our own backyard. However, I don't know what other B&M we could get. A dive coaster seems unlikely since we have one four hours away, the same could be said about a wing coaster. A flying coaster would be funny since we literally just got rid of our flyer. Other than that the other models I didn't list seem highly unlikely. You could argue we could get a floorless to replace Vortex but at that point I would rather us get a T-Rex from RMC instead. I'm going off topic here cuz there's literally nothing else to decode at this point

I know this is sort of off topic but I remember Greg Schied mentioning in an interview that it takes about 3 years to plan a coaster roller coaster so theoretically as soon as this coaster opens they'll already be in the planning stage for their next one; assuming the next one comes in 2023 of course.

Dive is the new Invert?
SonofBaconator replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
@lifetimecoaster dives are already "kinda" wings as half of the seats are not over track. I'm saying "kinda" loosly. Skyrush at Hershey Park for example is considered a wing. -
Ohio weather might be different than that of Virginia or the Carolinas. Plus it might all depend on which coaster each parks' maintenance departments think are the best to run in cold weather conditions.

Dive is the new Invert?

An argument could also be made for flyers since its rumored one will come to CP -
That's pretty much been the rant/controversy of the whole thread after the blueprints were released. Grab a baconator and have fun reading all 182 pages

Changing the topic to names, which ever name PR hints at the most is the least likely to happen. KI heavily hinted at the new 2014 coaster being The Bat and 2017 being Splintercat when instead we got Banshee and Mystic Timbers.

If Cedar Fair got another park
SonofBaconator replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I know this is a stretch but I would actually be happy if Six Flags Great America was part of the Cedar Fair chain. Its the sister park of CGA so it would seem fitting. Imagine if Kings Dominion was owned by a different chain than Kings Island. I know this will likely never happen as Six Flags Great America is one of their "B" list parks but it would still be cool to see both Great Americas under Cedar Fair's control. -
I think they did. Look at the video from 2008 vs 2010 and you can hear a noticable difference After 2010 they were pretty loud. Sometime after that, around 2016, they got quiet again- similar to 2008. 2008- quiet After 2010-loud

Besides Steel Vengeance when was the last time we've seen vertical construction prior to the announcement? Diamondback?

Why do we still have the FH trains? Are they not compatible with Nighthawk or are they keeping them out of nostalgia?

Do they charge admission or are all the rides still pay to ride? -
They still could- tallest hyper coaster. It could also break in park records- tallest coaster in the park, steepest, fastest coaster, etc
