  1. @fryoj you seem pretty knowledgeable about how blueprints work. Can you confirm, based off the leaked prints, whether 300ft will be peaked or not? You might have said it earlier but its a long thread.
  2. In the 90s, Inverts were the craze as nearly 20 were produced from 1992 to 1999. Now we're getting close to the 2020s and newer models have surfaced, one of which being the Dive Machine/Coaster. Dive Machines have been popping up around the world and have taken the GP by storm. With their popularity I think its safe to argue that Dive coasters are becoming the new invert. Sooner or later I think we'll see different variations of the B&M Dive Machine such as 100ft multi-looping models similar to Gerstlauer and possibly even a giga dive, (if a park is willing to shell out the money.) What are your thoughts?
  3. All of a sudden everyone on this forum became astrologists
  4. I always feel bad when they announce these huge rides for Magic Mountain and Great Adventure then St. Louis just gets a new water slide. Also, I wish they would drop the "Six Flags" name to give each park more individuality. Magic Mountain, Great Adventure, Great America, Discovery Kingdom, and Fiesta Texas would be easy changes. Georgia, St. Louis, and others would be a little harder.
  5. I feel like man made lakes are a pumber's nightmare.
  6. Skyrush, in my opinion, is an I305 style- "twister" layout. The hyper being installed will have a plethora of airtime and tall hills. Also this ride will be a "front gate" coaster that's the first thing guests will see when it walks in. Like Diamondback our new 2020 coaster will be in the back of the park.
  7. Every new coaster, whether at a regional or destination park, should have a "wow" factor that will attract people to that park; something that's worth the price of admission. In this case I don't think people would travel to KI just to ride another Diamondback which keeps me positive.
  8. For a second could we talk about the pros/cons of this ride being just at or under 300ft? I guess if it is short I want to know the benefits that were foreseen. This is all speculation.
  9. My classification is the initial hill has to crest 200ft to be a hyper, 300ft to be a giga. Goliath as SFOG is 200ft but has a drop of 175 and I still consider it a hyper. Yes Apollo's Chariot is a hyper in my book but only because the initial drop exceeds 200ft- but that's still a stretch for me.
  10. KI higher ups reading this thread
  11. Its just odd to me that we are debating whether or not this coaster will even peak 300ft. Going over 300ft seems elementary for Cedar Fair nowadays.
  12. If its anything like the Steelers' offense last year, they're in for a doozy
  13. You mean..... a diversion?
  14. I still think World's of Fun deserves a Dive or at least a T-Rex/Raptor.
  15. @Melody I do find it interesting that they're seemingly trying to squeeze a massive ride in a relatively tight space when there's so much more land that's readily available. I never thought I'd see a coaster ever get close to the back part of The Beast and now there's clearing along the mcbr.
  16. I wouldn't want to install a giga the same year of a major anniversary; much like I wouldn't want my birthday on Christmas.
  17. What do you guys think in terms of theming? Will it be high like Banshee or Mystic Timbers or in the lower end like Diamondback? I don't know how much you can pull from Orion or Polaris but space would certainly be the main theme.
  18. The Shambala curve also might be taller than people are predicting which could give the ride some more length.
  19. I know its a dumb question but do blueprints reveal underground sections?
  20. That clearing could also be for cranes and other equipment that couldn't fit without tree removal.
  21. With the blueprints leaked and the over abundance of Xbase and Dinos land, do you think KI is planning on adding more to this area in the future? There's plenty of space from Firehawk and Dinosaurs Alive that isn't even touched by construction with exception to Firehawk's removal.
  22. I think based off of the blueprints I think we'll be getting a Giga that's more hyper inspired. Leviathan was kind of in between where as Fury is more low to the ground. The lack of twists and turns in this layout would lead me to believe that there's going to be more air time involved than low-to-the-ground speed. If you look at Millennium Force there's only two big airtime hills and the rest of the elements are just overbank turns that are lower to the ground. The same can be said with Fury. That doesn't mean that this 2020 coaster won't have low-to-the-ground airtime but in order to achieve as much length as possible, tall airtime hills seem necessary.
  23. I measured Diamondback's length based off of Google Maps, excluding hills, and got around 4'400ft. I don't know how accurate that is but given DB's actual length of 5,282 ft thats about a difference of 882 ft. I don't know if what I did made any sense or not.
  24. What's interesting is, according to the blueprints, only about 20% of Firehawk's land will be used- the same can be said for Dinosaurs Alive.
