  1. I might be the minority but I would like to see something added to Coney Mall in some form or another. Whether it be a little stage in the Skyline pavilion, a traveling band or Peanuts appearances down the midway, or something of a similar caliber would be a cool addition to the area- especially since that section is going to have a lot of traffic these next few years.
  2. So far for 2019 Antique Cars Return International Street Makeover X-Base Construction Beast Car Repaint Racer Track work I think this is the most exciting off season we've had to date. It makes me happy to be a KI fan because I feel like they listen to what the people want more than any other park. The park does a great job appealing to nostalgia and what works for the park.
  3. I'm a future teller *I assume that each set of two will be painted a different color on each train- front two cars will be red, middle two cars will be orange, and back two cars will be yellow* https://www.pinterest.com/pin/322007442077594651/?lp=true
  4. I actually like the throwback colors, it's something I've wanted them to bring back for years. I kind of hope this color change is permanent!
  5. With the speculation of a giga going to the north side of the park, I wonder if adding sand is something the park would consider doing. Sand was added to Leviathan to reduce the noise during the first drop.
  6. I miss the cinematic feel that Paramount had in their advertisements as well as in different parts of the park. As someone who grew up im the Paramount era, commercials like these were nostalgic to me
  7. You might not be too far off there... It's highly rumored that Busch Gardens is getting a HUGE intamin which would certainly be favored over a 20 year old coaster. Kings Dominion might want to pump something out in the next couple of years to compete but only time will tell. This park has been losing coasters left and right so it would have to be something that would redeem these losses.
  8. I know some people will disagree with me but I'm actually kind if grateful we never got an Intamin coaster at KI. I feel bad for KD because Volcano was down for most of the 2018 season and it had a lot of maintenance woes in seasons prior. I think Cedar Fair is trying to push reliability and certain coasters, like Volcano and Firehawk, don't fit that bill anymore. It makes me curious if Cedar Fair will continue to invest in KD as much or if competition with BGW will continue to be a plague for the park. Their focus on Carowinds, Canada's Wonderland, Kings Island, and Cedar Point suggests that KD doesn't have the opportunity for growth that the chain is looking for.
  9. If anything were to replace it, I would say something by B&M that keeps them competitive with BGW. A large scale wing coaster would be a good move as there isn't one of those on the east coast.
  10. It seems like they won't have anything immediately replacing it since they announced it on a blog vs how KI announced Firehawk's removal. This reminds me of when Dorney announced Stinger's removal on a food blog. I unfortunately never had a chance to ride it, let alone visit the park.
  11. So *technically* Son of Beast is still standing? Sorry I had to
  12. Is there currently any track still residing in the Son of Beast station?
  13. I think the one element Cedar Fair is missing, with exception to Knott's, is quality dark rides. Previous CEO Matt Ouimet tried to push dark rides at every CF park when he was in charge. I think its definitely something the chain should still consider for its future.
  14. Can the trains get a repaint to resemble their original look 40 years ago? https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/ohio/cincinnati/ohios-largest-playground-cincinnati/
  15. I think there's some key elements that are required to make an area an official section Rides Eateries/food vendors Restrooms Ample seating/resting area So far X-Base only has one ride, a small concession stand, and a few benches. I think more would have to be done in order to truly make the section its own. I think we'll see some more additions in the near future.
  16. @AmusementWatch we've discussed this to great lengths on multiple threads and I think its bad PR to name a new ride after one that has injured riders and was infamous for maintenance issues. Lets have an original concept that doesn't piggyback off of another ride.
  17. Well the park is certainly living up to its name "California." Drop Tower is being repainted/ rethemed to resemble a giant Sequoia- a tree native to California. http://coaster-nation.com/californias-great-america-re-theming-iconic-ride/
  18. You and me both
  19. It was for seasonal employees who lived in the dorms. Their parents/ family would send them stuff and they could also pick up stuff they ordered online.
  20. Its probably a mailroom.
  21. Cedar Point dorms had a mail room, and a building for food, a rec room, and a common area.
  22. I agree. They have a lot of work to do in order to get back on CF's good side. Their most recent work with Intamin didn't go so well to the point where they had to remove/ redo certain rides.
  23. We're all talking about deer. Don's created a diversion. Pulling a Terpy
