I'm wondering how much the map will need to be reworked to fit in MT

I'm assuming they'll keep the comments disabled so no one who rode it would immediately spill the beans.

MT Construction Wrap Up and KI Interview
SonofBaconator replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island
I'm really interested to see how much the ride affects the surrounding setting of the train and WWC. -
Back on the topic of capacity. Could you imagine how much longer it would take to load Banshee if they had bins, or even worse, a platform drop? I'm all for no bins on long line rides

For some reason the photo or the link never appeared until now #apologies

Banana Splits at Kings Island - 1972
SonofBaconator replied to TombraiderTy's topic in Kings Island History
This might bring back some nostalgic memories for some of our older members. Hmm that park looks familiar -
I really like the one on the right! Its reminiscent of a rustic worker's cap.

What are Kings Islands Plans after Mystic Timbers?
SonofBaconator replied to louisvillecards1's topic in Coming Attractions
Thanks Indy, but when a major coaster company emails you back you have to show it off a little I agree that X-Base needs something. I understand that those maintenance buildings are essential but they take away a lot of potential for any type of plausible expansion. To be honest, I rarely visit that area of the park that much anymore unless its a very slow day. I don't know what the exact ridership was over the years for Flight of Fear or Firehawk but I assume that they've only gone down significantly. -
It seems to me like Cedar Fair is trying to make California's Great America a premier park out in California. I always thought they were the runt of the Paramount buy and losing three major coasters within the last 15 years didn't help them out. Its not going to be Magic Mountain status by any means but I think the park's popularity and attendance will certainly go up.

BUMP With the addition of Mystic Timbers and the mysterious shed at the end of the ride do you think we'll still get a Triotech dark ride? If we do I really want it to be right next to Adventure Express between Flight of Fear and Racer. However with the way Cedar Fair has adding dark rides in preexisting buildings I would not put it past them if they did something in the old Crypt building.

Kings Island 2017 Discussion Thread

I am curious to see how people will look at The Beast and The Racer after they ride Mystic Timbers. People usually expect wooden coasters to be rougher so I'm wondering if Mystic Timbers will make people think lesser of the other woodies. People thought Vortex and Firehawk were the smoothest rides in the park until rides like Diamondback and Banshee came along.
-
"Is so smooth." "I thought it was going to be bumpy." "The Beast is so rough now." "Why can't The Beast be this smooth??" "It hurts now when I ride The Beast." "I won't even ride The Racer anymore"
-
I see what you're saying but I have a couple of friends who really like Banshees lights and I'm sure they're not the only non-enthusiasts that do. I highly doubt that Delirium's 2014 repaint saw any drastic increase in ridership so really there was no necessary need to repaint it, it just looks nicer now. I'm not saying that ridership will skyrocket if lights were added but they do look nice and the general public does take notice of that type of stuff.
-
I have made some accurate versions of current coasters that are fairly smooth. However, when I see some people's rct3 coasters I pray they never decide to become roller coaster designers.
-
So you want tight turns, low friction turned on, and guests puking every where?
-
Apologies for the double post but this is an improvement that has been bugging me for a while. I always thought that the park could redo some scenery with some older rides to make it fit more. I'm talking mostly along the lines of the light package that was installed for Banshee back in 2014. The colors made the coaster pop and made it look even cooler at night. I wish the park administered that to some of the other coasters like The Bat, Firehawk, and maybe even Vortex. Another thing is the que music. The coolest part about walking to Flight Deck was listening to the Transformers film score. Anymore it just seems less exciting than it used to be. I always wanted them to play the 1989 Batman Score. Same goes for Firehawk, it would be cool if they played Danger Zone and other fun tracks to get people pumped for the ride.

Sorry I didn't specify, I was referring to the building in the picture being connected to the Train station not the coaster station. Too many dang sheds
-
Notice the building connected to the station. I'm curious if that's the photo both or not.

http://www.latimes.com/travel/themeparks/la-trb-cedar-fair-dark-rides-20150415-story.html Garner Holt Productions is responsible for a huge chunk of the animation that you see at Disney Parks as well as Knott's. I'd love to see them come to KI.
