  1. @grsupercity I have a question for you with MA being your home park. You mention how CP pulls a lot from Michigan, I don't know if they still have their Michigander Deal or not, but do you know if there's a lot of platinum pass holders who go to MA? Rather are there people in the Grand Rapids/Muskegon/Western Michigan area who opt for platinum passes so they can hit up both CP and MA?
  2. I'm no historian but I'd imagine it wouldn't. What trains are you thinking of?
  3. This isn't exactly matched up perfectly but its still remarkable how things have changed @kimv1972 do you have a preference on looks?
  4. Here's a better edit of what wood cabs and altered colors would look like (Original picture https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10218837939760685&set=gm.710714489611233)
  5. Companies that I think will come out of this pandemic the least wounded are Disney and Universal. Cedar Fair, Herschend and I daresay Six Flags will survive but I think there will have to result in some liquidation of expensive and old attractions. Sea World on the other hand is a whole different story. The company is in some debt from all of their coaster installations this past year so it'll be interesting to see if they file for bankruptcy or not
  6. That's not even a Cedar Fair Mack, unless they photoshoped green supports on Copperhead Strike for some reason I believe this is the actual coaster in the picture: https://rcdb.com/12340.htm
  7. I would be cool to see it incorporate a logging theme. I shared this a while ago when I was talking about incorporating MT theming into the train.
  8. I have 3 personal things I want to return Phantom Theater The Keggers King Cobra I know people will think I'm nuts for wanting KC to come back but I like to keep an open mind. The Surf Coaster is coming out so it might prove to be a comfortable alternative to the stand up model. I don't want anything huge, just something close to KC's stats. Georgia Scorcher is a pretty small stand-up and apparently people love it.
  9. Where would y'all put Hershey Park in comparison to other parks across the country? There are some who call it the park with "best coaster collection in the US" while others just look at as a regular park.
  10. I thought this was an interesting video and he brings up some good points. Cedar Fair has been cutting off some manufacturers that have been giving their respective parks problems such as Intamin and by the looks of it RMC. There really hasn't been a hint or a leak that RMC is going to work with Cedar Fair in the near future. I'm not saying it'll never happen again, heck they could have something in the works now, but it doesn't seem super promising at this point and time. Outside of Canada's Wonderland there's not an immediate need to convert any wooden coasters. I imagine Cedar Fair is looking to see how Iron Gwazi does before wanting to work with RMC again. I'm not saying Cedar Fair has quit on RMC but it seems like they're more comfortable with other manufacturers even going so far as to work with Mack who ships their track overseas. It'll be interesting to see what the future holds in terms of Cedar Fair's relationship with RMC
  11. I often wondered how things would be different if Paramount decided to leave KCKC alone and built TRTR somewhere else. If CF would have purchased the park with KCKC still operating would it be removed for Diamondback? Would Diamondback look the same? Would Mystic have ever been built? It seems despite the poor placement of TRTR it left an abundance of land for the park down the road allowing them to build a hyper coaster and a good sized GCI
  12. Credit to @KIghostguy for pointing this out to me and of course BGWFans.com for sharing on their twitter. No "official" word from the park but its on their Fun Card passes so I consider it credible. If this is legit then it's a definite game changer for Kings Dominion. I don't believe BGW would operate the same way BGT does in its winter months but only time will tell. Seeing how BGW will operate in the winter months is something I'll look forward to.
  13. ^The idea looks good on paper but I have a few nitpicks that would require some change. The station elevation- I don't know what's the tallest B&M station it but if its built over SoB's old station it would have to be pretty high The station is right near Banshee's- maybe this is just me but it would be too condensed in that corner. Demolishing Timberwolf- I'm torn on this Its too similar to GateKeeper- a wing coaster running up to the front of the park in Ohio. Multiply that by two and it seems repetitive Full disclosure I'd love something compact like X-Flight but with Thunderbird in the next state, GateKeeper up north and even Wild Eagle to the south it just seems too saturated at this point in time.
  14. I recently watched a POV of the refurbished Calico River Rapids ride at Knott's, formerly known as Bigfoot rapids. Throughout the ride guests encounter tons of cool theming and even animatronics. Could theming be added to White Water Canyon or would it be pointless? There is a lot going on with the train, Diamondback, and Mystic Timbers going by so animatronics wouldn't make a lot of sense but I think it would be cool to see some theming added throughout stretches of the ride on an off year. I would even be fine if they tied it into the Mystic Timber's story. Thoughts?
  15. I have no clue how feasible this is but it would be absolutely awesome of we saw a large scale log flume return to the park.
  16. Paramount made decisions that would best fit their brand and not necessarily the parks and because of this, a lot of the old charm left the park. Great rides like Phantom Theater, the original Antique Cars, the eagles, and Kenton's Cove were all sacrificed for the brand. Again they were a movie company so they saw the parks as ways to promote their brand but it did damage that Cedar Fair had to fix. Unlike movie parks like Universal Studios and Disney, Paramount wasn't necessarily able to start off with a clean slate so they had to work with parks that had their own identity. I wouldn't call it a bad decision on Kings Island's part, but more so on Paramount. Cedar Fair has already brought back smaller versions of the antique cars and the eagles. I wonder if they have any interest in bringing back the old Phantom Theater IP and Kenton's Cove. It would be a huge shock if we ever saw a large scale log flume return to the park.
  17. I think some of the "smaller" Haunt buildings should be used during the regular season for something else. Killmart could be a safe fun house, CHAOS could be a walk through attraction which could tie into Area 72, and Blackout could be rethemed as a family friendly walk through spooky attraction connecting to Banshee and The Bat.
  18. Speaking of Cedar Fair parks in general, I wonder how much business Valleyfair loses to the Mall of America if any
  19. A question I have. Its stated that its being done in house which is 100% fine, but why isn't GCI coming back to work on it? Is it because of Covid or is it a money thing?
  20. The main thing I would say that would stop an overhaul would be $$$. Also I have few questions. Would rides be rebranded? For example, "Snoopy's Space Buggies" doesn't really fit in with the camping atmosphere. Also would some current rides or attractions be removed? Here's my vision for a rebrand: Remove the barnyard for either more kiddie flats If not flats, remove the barnyard for a coaster. A GG woodie, a spinning coaster, or a wild mouse would be nice. Repaint Woodstock Express yellow for two reasons: It resembles the bird's actual color and it would pay homage to the ride's original color scheme Add small fir trees and wilderness theming
  21. Also while I'm thinking about it, when #12s balloon stack was removed in favor of a straight stack, was it meant to resemble UP #119?
  22. I've seen this talked about on here every once and a while so I thought I'd make a thread about it. Traditionally the children's area was typically rebranded to whatever property the park was trying to promote from HB to Nickelodeon to Peanuts. Would it benefit the park to overhaul the kids area? Maybe add another kiddie coaster? The camping aspect would make a good transition to Rivertown. The park doesn't hold the title of "World's Best Kids Area" anymore so changing things up certainly wouldn't hurt. If not a overhaul maybe just adding some more modern rides.
  23. This is my favorite look of #12 with the blue domes and balloon stack. Is it possible to return it to this look for the park's 50th?
