  1. You should buy @KIghostguy 's book!
  2. Was the plan to keep "Levi" at WoF permanently? They only have one shed stall (granted they can build another.) What about our engines? Are they due for an overhaul?
  3. I'm just curious to hear the feedback
  4. In my opinion there should always be a "wet section" in the dry park. CP has all of its water rides in Frontiertown so once you get wet on one ride you can shoot over to the next one.
  5. From the front it doesn't look bad but from the side it looks super disproportionate. They must have painted the smokebox which was a step in the right direction in my opinion.
  6. #2 was basically a twin of ex Six Flags Mid America's #5, (see chapter 5). The Neverland Ranch was basically modeled after the Disney parks so they took it a step further with the train. There were a ton of modifications made that I don't care for. The headlamp and the domes were enormous and the smokebox looked ghastly. They took every unique Crown feature and made it a knockoff Disney locomotive. Before MJ After MJ Disney World's #4
  7. Is there a benefit to onsite painting?
  8. Before Haunt fans come at me with pitchforks and torches, let me explain. One of the goals of operating any business is to maximize profit while minimizing expenses, as well as selling your product to a wide range of people. Wouldn't making Haunt more family friendly accomplish that? Currently Haunt is seen as a mature experience that caters to teens and adults, (as well as brave kids.) Most parents take their kids to the Great Pumpkin Fest so their kids don't have to interact with "scary things." That being said, wouldn't it be worth a shot to try and widen that demographic to increase attendance? How would this be done without ruining the experience for the people who like to be scared? Simple, you alter the experience. Imagine Haunt where parents don't have to worry about the scary roaming monsters. Instead you could have roaming actors that interact with guests in a way that's not meant to terrify them but just spook them. There's the usual spooky music and fog machines, but the scares are.....contained. The scare zones would still exist but they wouldn't be on pathways or high traffic areas so parents can walk around with their kids. The mazes can stay but the scares can be beefed up to compensate for the lack of roaming scare actors. The mazes could be ranked on how scary they are, say 1-5, so if younger kids wanted to experience a haunted house, they'd be able to do it at their own pace. "But what about the 'no boo' necklaces?" While they do make the park money I feel like its a turn off for people who want warm up to the scares but don't want to spend any extra money just to not be scared. That's money that could be spend on park merch, food, fast lanes, etc. Basically I'm suggesting an experience that is more inviting to a new audience awhile still catering to those who like the scares. Am I wrong? Do people understand where I'm coming from? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
  9. I've gone on record saying how I don't like how Six Flags operates. Most of their parks all have the same name so when one of them makes the news, they're all under scrutiny.
  10. If any park would reintroduce Premier Rides to the Cedar Fair chain I think it would be Canada's Wonderland.
  11. Capacity would be the trade off unfortunately, unless Cedar Fair invested in a transfer station, longer trains, etc but that all would cost extra and wouldn't be worth it. I do however believe that down the line if the park where do you get another good capacity ride I think they could afford a small compact ride of a lesser capacity
  12. Dollywood operates two Mikados which is a 2-8-2 wheel arrangement- 2 lead wheels, 8 drive wheels, and two wheels under the cab. #192 is the sister engine of Tweetsie #190. They operated for the US military in Alaska.
  13. I always felt like this park could get away with getting cloned coasters like skyrockets or free spins. I think the reason I think this is because the park itself has no direct competitor in terms of other amusement parks. Additionally cloned coasters are more compact which I think could fit in the park a lot easier than something custom
  14. Before people get ahead of themselves... The red square is where Picnic Grove used to be. As you can see its right off the main entrance which is prime real estate for any park, especially one like CP. The blue arrow is just a vehicle access point. I don't see how on earth a coaster would be put there without removing Blue Streak so I'd say a roller coaster isn't even plausible unless you're adding in something small and compact like a wild mouse. As for employee dorms.... Its possible but still unlikely. Cedar Point built a ton of dorms off property and just demolished Cedars, their old, last remaining on property dorms after 2018. I don't think Cedar Point would built a dorm inside park perimeters let alone that close to the main entrance. So what will go there? In my opinion it has a lot to do with money. Picnic pavilions don't make parks money unless they're used for events like ours is. In all honesty I'm putting money on either a restaurant or retail building of some kind or possibly a flat ride. Something like a wild mouse could go there but I don't see the point.
  15. Great work! If I could acquire crowns from any point in time it would be Old Dominion Line #552, Tommy G Robertson #6, Lakeside #17, and KI #19. Those, aside from the European and African themed ones are the most unique.
  16. I may be wrong but I feel like a front gate coaster kills the skyline. GateKeeper works because most the coasters behind it are larger to where it doesn't really block anything. Fury 325 works because its pretty low to the ground in the front and doesn't really have much of a skyine. With our park the average height of our coasters is 104ft so I feel like putting something right in the front would kill our skyline. Invertigo works because its not as tall as the coasters behind it.
  17. Sometimes I wish we had a 3rd engine to work as a backup. CP has 3 that run pretty regularly with a 4th that operates on rare occasions.
  18. I'd rather it and Invertigo removed for a path to Timberwolf like @Hawaiian Coasters 325 drew out
  19. Notice the extended firebox since they're converting it to burn coal
  20. Its a possibility. The property taxes might be cheaper, not to mention they're land locked and have height restrictions. The 49ers left Candlestick park to move near CGA because its cheaper. Fresno is just over 3 hours away from both the Bay area and Los Angeles. Who knows.
  21. Two reasons Frees up space for the dry park The Water park can grow without having to protrude onto the dry park- I suppose CP Shores and CP kinda compete for space so maybe a better comparison would be like Knott's water park
  22. As someone who's never been to CWL, I wish their water park was separate like CP shores is to CP or what you see with Busch Gardens and their water parks.
