  1. I argue both coasters are the best themed of their kind. With that being said however, what you get out of Orion comes from Mystic Timbers.
  2. I think something different would work: go kart tracks, high ropes/zipline courses, mini golf, etc
  3. From what I read online (and its the only figure I could find so don't take it as a solid source) Valravn cost between $20-$25 million https://www.google.com/amp/s/accountingintheheadlines.com/2016/08/30/would-the-costs-related-to-cedar-points-valravn-roller-coaster-be-expensed-or-capitalized/amp/ I thought I heard $23 million somewhere but don't quote me. To what @Kenban said, the cost isn't just the ride itself but the whole project. They had to demolish the theater and the turnpike cars before clearing the land Pay to have the coaster designed and manufactured Ship it Pay a company to install it Pay for additional things like a new entrance and such It all adds up
  4. They used to have the world's tallest inversion with GateKeeper. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Valravn had the 2nd tallest at the time. Going back to your comment, I agree that CP would want the inversion record.
  5. What would be advantageous of a chain operating a park operating in a competitor's territory? KI pretty much has dominion over the area. I'm just curious
  6. @TombRaiderFTW my argument is that Paramount neglected the park so people were fans of mediocrity. The park saw high attendance when their best coaster was an Arrow suspended coaster. They are trying to compete with other things people like to do for fun and I believe retiring their old rides for new ones would be a good step. I would like to see them incorporate animation and theming into their overall plan. I think Wonder Mountain's Guardian was a good attempt but I think it fell short imo
  7. Herschend has a big presence in the southern US so that wouldn't surprise me. $10
  8. I prefer Gemini to Rougarou too. I got a ton of rides on it during the summer of 2018 where as I only rode Rougarou once. I think Gemini's age is what causes many people to question its life span. (I wouldn't mind if they removed Rougarou either)
  9. Its always been talked about in some capacity that Gemini at Cedar Point might be gone in the future. I've given this a lot of thought and would like to hear what you all think. If you follow him, Airtime Thrills did a video on this where he talked about replacing the over 40 year old ride. One idea he had was something reminiscent of Steel Curtain at Kennywood, but with even more inversions. In a way this would make sense for a few reasons: Its compact Its heavy in inversions Could break records There are certainly other options out there so I want to hear your thoughts
  10. I often wondered how necessary that trim is considering the MCBR immediately follows. Behemoth is loaded with them so I'm not complaining
  11. I consider the building to be a blank canvas waiting to be painted. The outside can be retrofitted to have a mining facade. The building was built to house a top spin so I don't know what can be put inside. Blank canvas aside I fear that it might be more cost affective to demolish the building for expansion instead of spending money to renovate it for something new.
  12. Three points: I'm very interested to see where SEAS will stand coming out of this pandemic with the debt they have The number of water parks that might be acquired by larger chains might go up Smaller parks might seek help from large chains to stay alive if they can't recover
  13. I was torn between the 2nd and 4th option. I think if was made to look like an abandoned mine shaft that would be great
  14. If it had a light package like Hangtime I'd be down. I would be worried about size and capacity though. I would want something comparable to Vortex in size so I would be willing to wait. What's the biggest Gerstlauer ever made?
  15. I think if you have an RMC, you're almost guaranteed to get most visitors- especially enthusiasts who want to ride them all.
  16. Oh I'm not saying they don't, I'm just asking. It would be nice to see another RMC
  17. I'm not trying to sound rude but is Wild Adventures really that popular? Is it on par with parks like Adventureland, and so on? I've only heard about this park within the year.
  18. Even from an operational standpoint? I'm not being argumentative I'm just asking. I know Six Flags operates Darien Lake and Frontier City but I believe EPR Properties owns them.
  19. In the past I've talked a blue streak, no pun intended, about chains acquiring smaller parks or chains merging. There are some parks that got hit hard by the pandemic as well as a lot chains. Could we see smaller parks offering themselves to large chains in attempt to save themselves from closure? Could we see chains merge to try and alleviate some of their debt?
  20. That's 10 years of not buying a single product from the company. Doesn't that say anything to you? Since 2007: Shoot the Rapids had a boat flip in 2013 and permanently closed in 2015 ($10,000,000 investment that only lasted 5 years) I-305 had to be redesigned in response to extreme geforces Maverick had to have its heartline removed before it opened Intamin has cost the chain an insane amount of money for rides that have been plagued with downtime.
  21. The same thing can be said for what Hershey Park just did this past year with Candymonium- and they already have a coaster in the same height range. While Skyrish is considered a "wing", (I still don't fully understand that categorization when two of the four seats are right about the track), its been considered intense and painful by many: https://www.reddit.com/r/rollercoasters/comments/9yt9mx/fixing_the_thigh_crush_on_skyrush/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9qln0BPGCc https://www.coaster101.com/2012/05/29/skyrush-review/ (read the comments) https://coasterguy.wordpress.com/2012/06/24/skyrush/
