Would it be better to touch up the yellow lift and drop supports on Diamondback or repaint them to match the rest of the supports throughout the ride?

Hand-Painted Resin Models of the Train Engines Avaliable

I'm honestly surprised this has become popular now, I bought both of these in 2013 in a gift shop -
As of now, excluding the pandemic, Knott's is the only park in the Cedar Fair chain that operates year round. What are the chances of more parks offering year round schedules? The two that make the most sense would be California's Great America and Carowinds. California's Great America because its in a populated region that doesn't get harsh winter weather like other parks do. Carowinds just because they mentioned it a while back. Would it be advantageous to make these parks year round or would it cost more money than its worth? What about other parks I haven't mentioned?

I shared this before, its a Mack Blue Fire clone at a park overseas https://rcdb.com/12340.htm -
I am not particularly a fan of the Six Flags brand. Don't get me wrong there's some parks in the chain that I would absolutely love to visit someday but the brand itself is problematic. The reason I singled Six Flags out is mainly because they are the most universally known amusement park chain. If you're an enthusiast you know about chains like Cedar Fair and Herschend but most GP know about Six Flags; and to an extent Sea World but I'll get back to that later. Here's the problem- no parks have proper brand identity. With the exception of 3 parks, 12 properties have the name "Six Flags" slapped on them. It seems lazy when you have parks with cool names like Magic Mountain, Great Adventure, Great America, Discovery Kingdom, Fiesta Texas, etc. I understand some parks are literally named after their region with the name "Six Flags": Over Texas, Over Georgia, St. Louis, America, and so on but changes can be made. Then you have the combined announcement videos where park patrons see how much they're loved- "Great Adventure gets a ground up single rail while St. Louis gets another flat ride." I understand not every park can get a big ride but combining your announcements seems to damage your brand. Now look at Sea World and the controversy they've been facing. There are 5 major thrill parks in their chain and 3 of them have the name "Sea World" slapped on them. If they didn't have the Blackfish controversy, I wouldn't include them on here but given there's 3 of the same parks, the controversy caries where as the Busch parks are left alone. Finally look at chains like Cedar Fair and Herschend where their brand is almost transparent. Yes their parks are similar but if you were an average member of the GP, you'd never know that Wild Adventures and Silver Dollar City are owned by the same company- the same can be said for parks like Carowinds and Canada's Wonderland. By letting their parks have their own independent identities, Cedar Fair and Herschend have built in deniability from a PR standpoint. The Shoot the Rapids incident affected Cedar Point but not Cedar Fair as a whole- compare that to someone dying on the Batman ride at Six Flags over Georgia or someone getting their leg severed on the Superman ride at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. Would it be beneficial for chains like Six Flags and Sea World to take a page out of Cedar Fair and Herschend's book in terms of branding?

I argue the bare minimum was done to DA, but I don't believe it was ever meant to be necessarily permanent unless is was a huge success If it was its own park with its own gate, parking lot, etc I'd argue more would have been done- exhibits updating, a sitdown eatery, maybe a few small Dino themed rides.

Invertigo should've been renamed Screaming Demon when it was repainted back in 2012

I would love to see KI get a large scale log flume back. I feel like KCKC and Diamondback could have coexisted.

Cavern of Terror-> Kenton's Cove BLSC-> Antique Cars AND the Eagles BBoBH-> Phantom Theater

If I had a ton of money I would build a park of that nature on the Beach's property. I find high ropes, go karts, mini golf courses, etc too underwhelming to be placed inside a park like KI. That being said, however, I think all of what I said would work well as its own thing and make Warren County a multi day destination. Part of me was disappointed Cedar Fair never made a separate Dinosaurs Alive park. Imagine KI having a 3rd park off property where guests payed separate admission but there would be more put into it- sorta like what you would get at a resort.

Velocicoaster, Best in the world?
SonofBaconator replied to coaster sally's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
This is a general question and not one meant to bash or praise any manufacturer but what is the difference between intense and painful? For example I personally experience headbanging pain on Raptor and Rougarou but I would consider Maverick intense, which is a coaster I frequently enjoyed. -

How does one define intense? I always felt that that honor was given to I-305. If this thing is more intense than a low to the ground giga then wow -

Merging two chains
SonofBaconator replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If I was Cedar Fair and I was interested in acquiring BGW, I would push platinum passes where they could also hit up Dorney and Carowinds that are a few hours away. That or I would create a special pass for the Virginia parks that gets you access to just Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens Williamsburg. I still think just pushing Platinum passes would be the better route. In terms of diversification I think that if both Virginia Parks were under the ownership of Cedar Fair one of the parks would have to change. These two parks have competed with one another for decades trying to outdo each other so I think that it would be hard to have them coexist in the same chain without one of them changing. Hypothetically speaking, if Cedar Fair had control of both parks, I think Kings Dominion would be the one to change since it has already changed a lot over the past couple decades. They lost Volcano which was arguably one of their best coasters, and the rest of their coasters, with exception to Intimidator 305 and Dominator, are on the smaller side. I don't think there would necessarily be a need to close Kings Dominion considering how populated the east coast and mid atlantic regions are but one park would have to be dominant. They could give Kings Dominion more unique rides that you wouldn't find at Busch Gardens. They would not have to be extremely thrilling but just unique enough to make Virginians want to travel to both parks multiple times. -
Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
SonofBaconator replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
Sorry but I don't want anything crossing over or coming near to The Beast's land. Orion has been the only coaster to come close and that's as far as I would like it to go. Personally whatever replaces Vortex, I hope they use the cleared land and nothing more. Vortex had a low angle lift hill which took up a lot of space where as most manufacturers nowadays incorporate steeper lift hills to save space. -
Here's a scenario- the amusement park industry has been deeply affected by Covid-19 forcing chains to look into mergers. What two chains would you merge together and why? This is purely hypothetical and not meant to be taken seriously- although I ask that you be realistic. I'll start- Herschend and Sea World Entertainment Herschend now operates 4 amusement parks in the southern US: Dollywood, Silver Dollar City, Wild Adventures, and Kentucky Kingdom. This chain is trying to grow. Now look at Sea World Entertainment who operates 6 parks: SEA Orlando/San Antonio/San Diego, Busch Tampa/Williamsburg, and Sesame Place. This chain is trying to recover from the animal rights controversy that has painted them in a negative light for years. Combining the chains would bring a grand total of 10 parks (as well as their water parks and Herschend's other attractions and hotels.) This chain would become more dominate the southern market with 6 parks (7 if you include SWSA) and have a steady presence in both east and west coast markets. Platinum passes would allow people to visit multiple parks throughout the southern US.

Instead of a double station, how about an unload station like you see on Millennium Force, BLSC, or Flight of Fear? The trains could unload in the unload station and the cars could stay vertical when entering the station to board passengers.

An interesting trend- parks with Intamins are getting more B&Ms and parks with B&Ms are getting Intamins. Its a balance of sorts -
