To ride The Beast with just that buzz bar that didn't touch your legs at all and no seat belt and no divider and be the only one in the seat was a fabulous ride. I loved sliding back and forth LOL

Seat belts were optional in the disco era Oh the good ole days when The Beast did not have seatbelts were the best. But I did say I never had anyone pull on my seatbelt to be sure it was buckled properly. Sure the light may come on, but unlike a roller coaster, someone can drive with that pesky light on..no wait a minute, for a roller coaster the light needs to come on to be secured...why isn't there consistency lol

Now if CF only had a park in IN You are right a lot will change, but based on actions to date, I do not see DeWine having no restrictions by July 4th. I am sure they will be greatly reduced, but I am sure something will still be in place, either capacity limited or employees wearing masks.

Under the current Order, employees are required to wear masks... Regarding restraints, they could make that contactless and that is a possibility for many of the rides. The reality is because of the lawsuit crazy society we live in is part of the reasons for these restraint checks. It is posted and should be the rider's responsibility to know the rules and guidelines of the ride and obey them. I know the lapbar came down the required amount and that my seatbelt is secure and having a speed check by an employee doesn't make me feel any safer. Yet I witness on almost every trip a rider that thought the seatbelt was optional on one of the rides I am in line with, thus slowing the process down. I don't know this for a fact for every ride and I am sure there are exceptions, but I know most of the newer roller coasters cannot dispatch if the lap bar/restraint is not secured, so the employee speed check is more for checklist and liability reasons and redundancy than anything else. Now I do realize that none of the seatbelts have this feature, so they are checking that. I get into my vehicle and strap my seatbelt on and never has anyone done a pull on it to insure that I secured it properly, yet statistically, one is more likely to be injured or die in an automobile accident than an amusement park ride accident...

That is an indicator though. The surrounding states have all had somewhat similar outlines and timelines, give or take, so I think Ohio will end up with something similar. However, as pointed out previously, people are starting to recognize that just because a state opens up a sector, doesn't mean that companies in that sector will open. It also doesn't mean that customers will visit companies if they are not comfortable or unwilling to comply with whatever requirements are set forth for entry into their establishment.

And let's not forget if they do allow the souvenir bottles, in all likelihood we will see a return (hopefully only temporarily) to the days of the employee filling said cups. Many recommendations elsewhere for food establishments are that customers do not fill their own drinks to remain contact free, so no FreeStyle machines for awhile either probably... What this will mean is the employee with gloves on is making the dudes food in front of you in line. Dude hands employee their nasty germ ridden cup that has followed them into the bathroom and left not washing their hands, etc. Employee with gloves on takes said cup, fills it up, returns cup to dude. Maybe they dipped the cup into the ice to save time (I have seen that happen too in the past). Employee wearing the same gloves, but now all germ ridden, then asks you for your order and proceeds to make it. I avoided the places that this was common place at. Some of the food places in the past were set up in such a way this was the norm. This scenario happened a lot in the past. I would make complaints to guest services as that is a Board of Health violation. In the unlikely event I happened to be the recipient of that happening to me while in line, I would take the food to guest services with me and tell them what happened and was like "here lunch is on me" and watch their reaction. One of the few times you would actually see action happen to a complaint and they would immediately call someone high up to come speak to me to hear it themselves. I would look first for a supervisor at the food place, but a lot of times there wasn't one, so I had to go to guest services. Eventually they went to the guests fill their own drink cups. Generally sped the line up in the process. With the return of Winterfest, it brought this scenario again refilling hot chocolate cups the first year. I went to guest services. Procedure was changed.

Staffing on a hot summer day, or even a cool day may get tough for some of the more labor intensive rides or other jobs wearing PPE. First aid runs will increase. Increased frequency of employee breaks will occur as well, probably resulting in more staff needed at rides too. People do not realize how much Oxygen content is lost by wearing a mask for extended periods. It can result in 20% reduced lung capacity or more. They have been trying it out But in all seriousness, sunglasses stay on, so I think a mask with a strap that goes all the way around a head will be secure. But just like some sunglasses fly off, I am sure some loose fitting masks will come off as well.

So if one wants to read what is in the Governor's order and interpolate what that could mean for an amusement park, the big item is the requirement for an establishment to operate at under 50% capacity, plus comply with PPE for employees and social distancing measures for guests. Now who knows when and if the Governor will allow amusement parks to open, but if he does and doesn't lower the 50% capacity requirement, then based on numbers above, KI is pretty much in the clear to open at that point and not restrict attendance during the summer. They will certainly be under 50% between people not coming out for their own fear of crowds, Soak City probably wouldn't open, and company outings and daily admissions probably seeing a decline. The big question will be come Haunt time...in all likelihood the covid will be back in full force by that time, so it may be a moot point regarding Haunt and capping it's attendance as they may be forced to be closed regardless. So the two big questions are when does the Governor allow it and can KI adhere to the PPE for employees requirement and keep guests in compliance with social distancing requirements? And of course, even if they get 25,000 at the park, the experience will be different and we should all expect longer "waits" for rides to deal with social distancing. At this point, capping capacity isn't going to be the issue for KI, it will be compliance with the PPE and social distancing requirements. Certainly makes their decision a little easier to justify opening than the projections and analysis a month ago...

That's cool! Would be interesting to see how a park could mandate it. If this company is thinking, they should figure out a way to incorporate it into a parks own app! Otherwise a park will still wanna create their own so they can sell the "all season social distancing plan"

Thank you I agree 100%! Most of the time it is that, but sometimes it is also to imply a "read between the lines" statement, or that this information is subject to change based on the ever-changing data analysis happening.

Keep in mind, big brother in China also requires them to be tracked of their every move and scan in every place they go and then their personal data is used to sort individuals into color-coded categories – red, yellow or green – corresponding to their health status and level of risk for COVID-19 based on where they have been. I doubt we would ever see that level of tracking here...and alternate seating like that on most of KI rides would still be within the 6 foot separation requirement for social distancing, so KI trains would be even more spread out than the above picture... In some places in China, face masks are mandatory as well...and that is a big difference. The Ohio Governor today just relaxed that stance and said now customers do not need to wear face masks if they choose not to, but he strongly recommends...this change alone will be a key factor for many companies deciding when to open...yesterday companies still decided not to re-open when it was a requirement for customers to wear masks, so this will probably add to the list of companies deciding to delay when opening... Plus from Fantawild's very own website, this isn't social distancing and I am sure Neighbor Nosy Nancy would be quick to turn KI in for something like this... but on the plus side, anyone that feels the picture takers at the front of the park are annoying, that would probably be something eliminated when KI does open...

True...but as we have found out with others here, it doesn't mean someone won't (post will obviously get removed)...but many people do not read their employer policy or care, especially those that are younger and all they have known is social media...I have seen lot's of posts elsewhere that are clear violation of company policy (and I am not talking drones LOL)...
