On the contrary, if we are as you say the internet's leading KI fan site, we have an obligation when teaching moments arise to educate the general public on what is acceptable and not acceptable. Let's face it, I suspect more people read this forum than they do any sign in front of a ride or the information on a paper map or in the app. Unfortunately, most are ignorant of park policies until they violate one and someone says something. If someone is reading this forum and sees a post from a moderator that says a POV was removed because it is illegal under Ohio Revised Code 1711.551, MAYBE, just MAYBE it may prevent someone from doing the same. Maybe the person they prevented doing so happens to have slippery hands and would have been in front of you on your next ride at the park. Look at the ice cream licking that has gone viral and all the copycats. If we can play our small part to prevent copycats from doing POVs and drones being flown over while the park is in operation, we may just save a life in the process. Let's face it, if drone videos keep popping up and even if they were done legally as many on here are claiming, eventually someone will do something stupid and will fly a drone during park operating hours and try to get that really cool shot of a train cresting Diamondback and be too close and hit the train and cause serious injuries. There are enough people out there looking for their 15 minutes of fame... If we, as a fan site, inform our readers that it is against park policy to fly a drone over the park, maybe it prevents the naïve young teen from taking their cool toy in trying to get that cool video... Most of us probably are not worried about the person that is responsible and professional and will fly the drone in accordance to all applicable laws and regulations, it is the person that is ignorant to these same laws and regulations that are the concern. The park policy was probably developed with that person in mind. Let's hope it doesn't take a catastrophe at an amusement park with a drone to cause the FAA to ban the airspace...but that is where we as a society are heading... Heck, even in clearly restricted FAA airspace people are already doing it (Google near misses and drones hitting planes and drones in restricted airspace), so it is only a matter of time before it happens at an amusement park...

I agree, but I have mentioned before in other threads regarding POVs, most of these people that post these POVs do so under their real name and it would be real easy for the parks to revoke their pass or forbid entry into the park again...and until that happens and people realize their is a price for violating policy, it will continue...hopefully the recent policy if the ride op sees a phone out and they call security and they get ejected will have an impact, but their is more the park can do to hold violators accountable. Plus sitting at home watching people make these POVs, we could also flag the videos as illegal and hope YouTube and other sites would take them down, but I think that should be an issue that CF as a large corporation would have better leverage to make happen...

We have to worry about said others when they are being jerks in front of you on a ride with their phone out and it gets loose and hits you or a loved one in the face. This has happened to members on the forum...

^it makes it less clear actually...so are photos of the blueprints allowed since they haven't been discussed on their social media stuff? What about photos of the construction taking place - that hasn't been mentioned.... The clearer it is tried to be made, the less clear it gets....along with the rising frustration level of the forum members...

they didn't float away as they bounced into cars that were not subjected to the flooding...

The drop off spots were few and far between. A few spots it was shorter to walk to front gate than tram spot. But almost always shorter time to just walk to gate that to wait for tram. Plus, the old tram spots pretty much forced you to walk between cars in the rows to get to your car which is much more dangerous compared to walking at the end of a row until you get to your row...

It absolutely happened in areas of the parking lot. I remember it vividly. Even mentioned in a thread years back. It wouldn't let me link it, but search for "Blocked Off Section Of Parking Lot?" and the thread will come up. Here is the floodplain map showing the impacted area (source link in image). For years a portion of the parking lot that had the cars most damaged was blocked off with white striping, but people still parked in it thinking someone left them a great parking spot... A lot of people think the parking lot is flat, but based on elevation a car can be submerged in water in a few locations and the rest of the parking lot be dry...which shows why the media always says do not drive thru standing water because it may seem flat to you but isn't...

^^^In addition, a minor providing so much information about themselves on a public forum accessible to everyone is never a good idea (really for anyone for that matter...)

They closed yesterday at 7pm if that is any indication...

The 2014 season started without seatbelts but were installed on Diamondback within the first operating month that year. The first reference of Diamondstack on this forum was June 16, 2013, but was used prior to reference here... One can search this forum and find where people have done some unofficial timing of dispatches and see that the seatbelts have not increased the dispatch times...ride op records would confirm this as well...as many have said in the past, for the most part delays are guest driven with issues other than seatbelts...

Follow the clues...Flashing light on top not working.... No ride ops at ride... Maintenance working on it Sunday and would sound like the catch car was moving but didn't and stayed at top... WindSeeker running and that is the temperamental weather ride...I guess you could say Drop was down for weather...as in it was hit by lightning... But yes many of the rides are designed to be able to take a lightning strike but it doesn't mean that something still isn't knocked out in certain events. And sometimes someone gets lucky and catches the strike on video...

One would think given the perks so far (discounts on buying stuff), that one would get said perks at each park they visit to try to entice additional spending at the non-home park... If they aren't doing it I suspect it is a limitation in the software more than a policy decision...

And I think FUNPerks was going in that direction - many of the rewards were experience based that really didn't cost the park anything or much at all (exclusive use of the unused Eiffel Tower level for fireworks viewing with your friends, watch fireworks from IS Restaurant area with your friends, free cabana, free souvenir cup, etc.). In my opinion, this program needs to offer experience based things like you said a free Fast Lane or free cabana or free front of the line for one ride, etc. in order for it to mean something to most passholders. 10% off something isn't going to cut it for most people I suspect. Now on the flipside, FUNPerks was based on how much you spent in the park (this was prior to meal plans, etc.), so the park was getting something out of it. A passholder simply making a lot of visits but not spending any new money in the park due to all the season meal/drink/pics/FL plans they have doesn't add any value to the park in future quarterly statements except for an attendance count, so I can see why the rewards so far have a money exchange associated with it to increase per cap spending...

^True - I meant it was a failure in that it never made it out of beta - the idea and rewards were attractive and the variety that one could pick how to "redeem" points allowed flexibility in choosing which reward best fit your needs - so if you wanted $20 off a season pass renewal or a free cabana or free merchandise or discounts off stuff you had the option to pick and choose based on your level... I also know that at least one member of the forum posted a loophole he exploited that ended up having his pass scan as invalid so security could talk to him at one point about it lol...the computer programming of the FUNperks had lots of bugs and loopholes that were exploited by people for personal gain that I am sure aided in the decision to not make it out of beta...

^that looks too much like the "rewards" that used to pop up in the app in the notifications section...which ended up being exactly like this - discounted food and BOGO stuff lol...at this point it almost looks like nobody realized they had these available in the app because they were "hidden" so they moved them over to an e-mail driven system to drive sales? I sure hope not... If this program doesn't give the rewards similar to FUNPerks it will be deemed a bigger failure....

Someone should start a poll if this fan video quality will be better than the official announcement POV lol

Single rider lines do not exist currently and haven't since Fast Lane was introduced...I do not think they exist throughout the CF chain now either (at least their bigger parks)...although you may see them at Winterfest when Fast Lane is not offered (yet)...

Just for you, they will do three shows Friday...Actually they will let anyone at the park that day in to see it unless it reaches capacity....and you may recognize two more than Kayla mentioned...

^It is interesting in BeastForever pics that a third of the photos have someone with a phone out...

New rules coming into effect: Key policy changes, which are designed to, among other things, help improve guest flow, ease congestion and make the park experience more enjoyable for everyone who visits include: As of May 1, 2019, smoking areas will no longer be present in our domestic theme parks, water parks and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Guests may use designated smoking areas outside of the parks, at Disney Resort hotels and at Disney Springs. As of May 1, 2019, strollers must be 31” (79cm) wide and 52” (132cm) long or smaller. As a reminder, wagons are not permitted in our parks. Beginning May 1, 2019, stroller wagons will also no longer be permitted. Loose and dry ice is not permitted in our parks. Reusable ice packs are recommended. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/parks/rules-updates-parks-resorts/?CMP=ILC-DPFY19Q2wo0328190001A

I think further clarification on what can be posted or not posted needs to be revised in light of the advancements in technology since the ToS were first developed. The ToS are clear that "Posting information that is not public record and could be damaging to the reputation, business and/or day to day operation of Kings Island or its affiliates is a violation of the terms of service. Any information posted claiming to be from an inside source or claiming to be confirmed, when not being released from Kings Island or Cedar Fair, must be posted along with the name of the source. Failure to do so is a violation of an individual user's terms of service." That seems clear, yet my interpretation of "recent" events on this site seems to say that things like Notice of Commencements and plans filed at the County can be linked and referenced and shown and discussed and not frowned upon, but photos or videos readily available and legally made are frowned upon? If O'Rourke Construction did not have a confidentiality clause in their contract and took a video of it and posted it that becomes public record - why is that frowned upon being posted and linked here? Same with any commercial company legally obtaining aerial photos? Kings Island never publicly announced that many of the shows are contracted out, yet members can discuss that and name the companies involved and that is accepted here. The list goes on and I believe the forum is inconsistent on enforcing the policy. I can understand any photos or information posted by an employee taken during hours the park is opened to the public is a no-no and can get the employee fired. I can understand anything obtained by trespassing is a no-no. A company doing work for Kings Island and Kings Island failing to put language in the contract regarding not mentioning that work until Kings Island public announces it and said company posts it on their social media channels should be fair game? Same with a company doing the design or construction of the next ride and lists it on their website before the announcement should be fair game (which we would hope doesn't happen as they should have confidentiality clauses in place to prevent that)? Is a member taking photos from a private plane fair game? If Google Maps or some other public domain commercial entity happens to post aerial photos should be fair game? Maybe a FAQ section giving examples of what can and cannot be posted regarding this topic would be of benefit and might prevent some of this discussion from taking place.

Somebody posted it in another thread...
