True...but as we have found out with others here, it doesn't mean someone won't (post will obviously get removed)...but many people do not read their employer policy or care, especially those that are younger and all they have known is social media...I have seen lot's of posts elsewhere that are clear violation of company policy (and I am not talking drones LOL)...

Exactly...and look at all the companies that have been "authorized to open" in other states and said they won't yet... Movie Theaters in Texas and George, dental offices in Kentucky - think about that, a dental office that is familiar with PPE and used it long before this happened are staying closed for the moment. Plus a lot of these places cannot find PPE and that is a requirement for all employees... Before the Ohio announcement yesterday, restaurants in Ohio like Camp Washington Chili said even if they were allowed to open on Friday, they would not do so yet... Where does a KI fit in all of this? Since they are non-essential and haven't been given the go ahead, one could argue that means they cannot even begin to train and prepare for operating and would they even do so with no guarantee of being able to open? We have members of this forum that are employees, so let's see when they get the call back... It normally takes KI 4-6 weeks to prepare to open, would it really be the same time frame considering having to do training in compliance with social distancing or will it take longer? I guess if they cut enough attractions from opening, they could shorten the time-frame... Here is a what-if...what if they make the decision to not open Orion as that is the draw that would overload whatever requirements they have to comply with... One of the cornerstones of "re-open America" is to react and respond to what the latest data tells them, and if the state sees an actual spike, guess what happens... For example, West Virginia's re-open is based on not seeing a 3% or more increase for 3 consecutive days - one of the few states to actually define what will trigger them holding steady or reversing what is open. Nobody wants to be Denver - they re-opened up a little too early in the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic and got a re-surge during the first wave of the outbreak that was worse than what they experienced initially. Our current elected officials acknowledge that once re-opening starts, we will start to see an uptick again, so it is a balance of not opening up too early and have re-surge be larger than the initial surge. I would think most companies would rather wait two weeks and be able to re-open and stay open than open two-weeks early and being open a month and then getting shut down for another two months or more...and we are seeing evidence companies are thinking that way in states that opened...and the Ohio Governor has said that is what businesses are telling him - people that actually own and run these companies... So the question will be, do our states see a new spike that is worse than the first? And history tells us that we will see Covid-19 again this fall and next spring 2021. History also shows the 2nd of the three phases is usually the worse...so the worse is probably yet to come...

Employees and guests to places open need to wear masks and comply with all social distancing requirements.

AMC theaters say they will not re-open right away even if the state allows them to reopen citing concerns of dealing with social distancing requirements coupled with no blockbuster movies scheduled for release until July.

The pet kennels were removed for the 2015 season...they had a partnership with a local pet kennel that year that didn't get much use. Also, KI offered a season long pet kennel pass up to that point! In 2014, KI had a Dog Days in October event over in the Soak City portion that didn't equate to increased use of the Pet Day Care when patrons were finished on that side of the park. I suspect most did the Dog Days thing and went home. That may have very well been a last-ditch effort to try to save the kennel. Given that KI is still a predominantly season pass park, it was probably an easy decision for them. Plus the changing travel habits as most hotels do not allow pets, some do, but they are the minority.. But that is life in the corporate world, where quarterly reports drive decisions. Bean counters forget that not every service offered has to be a money maker if it enhances the overall guest experience and is ultimately offset by the revenue generated in other parts of the organization. Let's face it, I doubt that many people will say "Let's visit Kings Island now that the Pet Care Center is gone". However, more will say "Let's not go to Kings Island because we can't take our pet there while on vacation." Even though I do not have a pet, I would rather the park kept the Pet Care Center and not do the Petting Zoo. I guess ole Ed Alonzo will not be visiting anytime soon (rumor was the animals used in his show were kept at the Pet Care...)

Fair enough - and people are watching and researching and analyzing what they are doing - they have to account for their life style, age demographics, etc. and how that compares to other countries. Word of advice, when you have only been a member of this forum for what 12 days and post to a hot topic with a 13-word statement that comes across like it did with no explanation, you need to be prepared to defend your statement as history on this forum shows that trolls are usually those that have been here a short time that posts something with no justification...even on less hot topics like this. Just look at the beating RedRacer got for starting a thread about being a new employee at KI... Plus unlike an actual conversation, a short post can sometimes be interpreted or taken different ways. Content and context is everything, as well as length of time on the forum where people can develop an opinion on someone based on their posting history. If you had started with that analysis, my response would have been different or not even one at all. I assure you that if it wasn't me, someone else would have responded with something similar based on your post. Re-read it and you can see how someone could take exception to it. Sorry for jumping your case. In my book we are cool now - you provided how you formulated your opinion and that it wasn't just some off the cuff response to invoke a response. Carry on...

Your post and tone of it says it all...it came across as you think this whole shut down thing is nonsense...convince me it wasn't your intent...and then provide the reasons and science and data you are using to formulate that viewpoint...Many posters, including myself, have provided tons of information to support our individual opinion.. If you disagree with the shutdown, that is fine and is one of the freedoms of our country, but people would like to know how you formulated your opinion...who knows maybe you present something we haven't seen before and we change our minds...

If we left everything open, we would have had orders of magnitude more dead. I know several that have done that...I am contemplating it myself. My friends that have got off social media are so much more happier than they were before. Regarding China, they are much more regulated than the US... I posted something similar in another thread, but this is certainly relevant here as well as it is relevant to the timing of things. How cities respond to Covid-19 is part science and part history. The history part comes from the Spanish Flu of 1918. It is well documented the differences in responses between Philadelphia and St. Louis, as well as the double-hump that Denver saw after relaxing standards regarding the Spanish Flu outbreak of 1918. Back in 1918, Philly held a parade on September 28th, barely 14 days after the first cases were reported in Philly. Look at the jump Philly had by waiting weeks to start the social distancing, compared to St. Louis enacting these same policies within days of their first cases. Philly overall death count was higher too, despite it being a shorter duration. Contrast that to Ohio for COVID-19 that started the shut-down prior to our first case in Ohio...imagine what our numbers would be if Ohio wasn't the first to go these efforts.. Now Denver is an interesting situation as well. They re-opened up a little too early in 1918 and got a re-surge during the first wave of the outbreak. Aren't there only like 130 docks or so, and limiting it to Ohio dockholders certainly is an easier controlled environment than an amusement park. And let's hope they didn't announce something too early...DeWine said on Monday he will announce what can start to re-open...and anything that does open has to comply with all the social distancing measures in place.

The question is will you "live it up" in defiance of State Orders or in accordance with State Orders (cross-threading LOL). It is clear many on this forum plan to "live it up" ASAP LOL, but there are a lot that will permanently change what they spend money on too..age demographics probably comes into play as well..

Especially so if KI only allows Ohio residents In all seriousness though, it will be interesting to see which entertainment venues are able to open and stay open. not because of the virus threat, but because spending habits will change. I think many people have used this time to re-evaluate what they have been spending their money on. I know I have and I know my spending habits will be different once "normal" happens. I think I can wait for a movie to hit some streaming service as an example. Some may have realized they really don't watch much TV, even during this stay-home order, and cut the cord. Of course some people will pickup right where they left off, but I do think many will have a change in fun.

As you are proving, there are a lot of entitled people out there when it comes to a season pass...and since you have publicly announced you would violate any State Order to attend KI opening day, someone will turn you in, whether it is someone on this forum or Nosy Nancy walking the lot looking for out-of-state plates or someone seeing your FaceBook post bragging that you are at KI..as the sheriff here has said many times - he has plenty of room in his jail for flagrant violators of the Order...

The Florence Aquatic Center is the latest summer swimming attraction deciding not to open this year. This center contains a lazy river, competition pool, zero depth pool that is ADA accessible, two spray grounds, a spiral and speed slides, sunbathing areas, shelters, funbrellas, bathhouse (including family restrooms) and concessions area. Non-resident single memberships are $225 and family memberships are $410. Pass holders can either get a refund or transfer the pass to 2021. They also cancelled their Memorial Day parade. Meanwhile in Florida, similar to Cedar Fair representatives on the Ohio Governor's re-open Task Force, representatives of Disney and Universal are on the Florida Governor's re-open Task Force. A lot of details are still being kept tight, but Universal has strongly hinted that attendance will be capped and it will be a phased reopening for “Florida State residents, then national and then international visitors last.”... If KI follows suit, imagine all the ticked off Kentucky and Indiana pass holders, many of which by mileage would be closer to KI than many Ohio residents...I bet KI staying closed all year is looking better to those outside of Ohio now On a Disney forum, supposedly a Disney employee leaked a re-opening document called Secure Circuit Protocol, indicates Disney would re-open at a greatly reduced capacity capping number of guests and without parades, castle shows, character meet-n-greets, fireworks shows, etc. In addition, rides would be operated at reduced capacity and social distancing enforced and would include health checks of every guest at security and a waiver each guest would have to sign clearing Disney of any liability for potential exposure to coronavirus...

They will still have to wear the face masks though
