  1. No more speculation about what? Already revealed it.
  2. Yes, I agree HW and KK both have better water parks. I always did wonder why Cedar Fair always chooses second tier slides instead of trying to add top tier slides like Wildebeest, Mammoth, etc. Cedar Fair has more money to do it, but they choose not to try and make their water park world class, like the dry park.
  3. It's hard for me to believe that a giga is going to go where DA is when they have that big open area behind Banshee to build on. Why would they want to add to overall cost by clearing out all of the trees where DA currently is, when they could just build it behind Banshee?
  4. Did KI remove it? I didn't see it on there.
  5. I'm guessing (hoping) a giga in 2020. It took 2 years from the time they tore SOB down to open Banshee. I think it will be about 2.5 years from the time DA closes to the opening of the giga. I also think the entrance will be between The Racer and FOF and head back over DA. That could be the reasoning in putting the new rumored restaurant next to The Racer. That area will have a lot more traffic with a giga there.
  6. That's actually a really good idea!
  7. Let's keep in mind, Kings Island outperformed Cedar Point so far this year in attendance according to Matt Ouimet, and Kings Island is probably the best placed park in the chain(besides Knott's) because of it's close proximity to 6 major cities. Cedar Point is kind of in the middle of nowhere, so they require a resort for people to stay at. Therefore, I don't think DA alive area will be used for a resort because I'm not sure KI needs one, especially with Great Wolf Lodge next door.
  8. I personally think KI has more charm and beauty than CP. The lake at CP is nice, but it brings seagulls which in turn brings seagull droppings that are all over the rides and rest of the park. KI's ride spacing is much better as well, unlike CP which has to put all of the rides so close together because of lack of space. KI is also cleaner in my opinion and more beautiful because of all of the land and trees. Also, The fountains at the front of KI is one of the best entrances out of any amusement park I've been to.
  9. Wow! Banshee fell from 13 to 22 in Top 25 best steel coaster category. I was hoping it would move into top 10.
  10. Funny! It'll be even funnier when it closes next year. Never have been a fan of DA, although i do like the path and how secluded it is from the rest of the park.
  11. Heard from a KI security guard that Dinosaurs Alive is definitely not coming back next year. He said "he is positive". I then asked a KI employee working Dinosaurs Alive, and she said she's heard it both ways. So, who knows if DA will be there in 2018 or not. Based on both conversations, I'm going with the security guard.
  12. I'd prefer an Intamin, but I'll take a B&M. An Intamin Giga like Intimidator 305, but with a launch would be awesome. That would give us something unique and help to continue in giving each park it's own identity. If it's a B&M though, I just want it to break some records.
  13. I do see your logic and respect your opinion, but I think Cedar Fair wants all of the major thrill rides to go to CP, therefore, drawing bigger crowds to it's flagship park. If KI received a record breaking monstrosity, that may draw yearly CP visitors to KI instead. I just visited CP over the weekend, and it is more expensive than KI. Fast Lane Plus is 150 each on Saturdays! Their Hotel Breakers is ridiculously pricey as well. The water park is an upcharge, plus food and beverages are a little more too. My point is, CF wants people to go to both parks if possible, but they would prefer more people to go to CP because it's more of a destination park and they will make more money per capita vs. per capita spending at KI. A huge record breaker at KI would possibly take away from that. I recently started a topic about the possibility of how CF wants to "tame" KI by making it more family oriented by taking away some of the thrills from our signature rides like The Beast( by adding more trims), etc. This goes along with what I was discussing above. By making KI more family friendly, you make the two parks entirely different, which benefits CF more, because more people will continue to go to CP(Spending more money at higher a priced park). While I was/am kind of joking, and don't 100% believe this is happening, I thought it would be an interesting topic to discuss, but they (KICentral), removed it, for whatever reason.
  14. That would be awesome. they could do it if they build the lift hill between FOF and AE, then they could build the drop right into the hill that Son of Beast's first helix went down into. This would give it an extra 50-60 feet of elevation change to work with.
  15. I doubt Cedar Fair will go bigger than Fury for KI's supposed Giga. Cedar Point is too close up the road for CF to build any height and speed record breakers in fear of KI possibly stealing any of Cedar Point's "thunder". I expect something between 305 and 315, unfortunately.
  16. I was there yesterday. All of the footers line the walkways of Tower Gardens and down by the clock, which tells me that it is something to do with a display more than a ride. It also implies that Tower Gardens will not be the location of the antique cars (which Screamscape has stated as a probable site), if that is the new attraction for next year.
  17. The new footers in Tower Garden are identical to those by the clock. I think they may be for Winterfest, although they are quite big.
  18. I think KI needs a thrilling flat ride. I'd rather see that than the return of the antique cars.
  19. They'll probably relocate the antique cars from CP to KI to free up more space for CP to build another coaster. LOL
  20. Ha! Building a coaster out into Lake Erie is about the only option they have from here on out, unless they start removing a lot of attractions.
  21. If a giga is coming in 2019, we should see prep and teasing at the start of next year's season, which I highly doubt.
  22. Rode Firehawk for the first time in awhile last week. When I got off of it, I noticed my head was hurting slightly. As the day continued, my headache got worse. When we went to Carowinds last summer, we rode nighthawk. After getting off, my GF had a headache and almost fainted. Just haven't had great experiences with Vekoma. Don't like how passengers are lying down up lift hill too. It's awkward and uncomfortable. KI should've gone with a B&M flyer.
  23. Yeah, what you mentioned may have been the reason for the much shorter line, and I didn't notice the pre-lift breaks. That sounds like a great idea by B&M.
  24. I was at Carowinds on the Saturday of 4th of July weekend 1 year ago and the line for Intimidator was significantly longer than Fury's. It really did seem like the more popular ride that day. I was surprised. I also thought Intimidator wasn't as good as Diamondback like most coaster polls show.
  25. It wouldn't need a MCBR. That ride looks to be at least 7000 ft in length. Fury is 6600 plus, and it doesn't have one.
