  1. Good thing they don’t ONLY market to you, and they have a lot of other customer profiles to pull from. Like you said-to each their own, but to imply the park is loosing total OVERALL revenue because you are pulling out isn’t maybe grasping their overall strategy.
  2. Remember- the current regime didn’t mess it up with removal-they messed up by missing the 10 year “refresh mark” and not bringing it back LOL.
  3. Hmmm I was there and didn't see or feel any. I don't think it was needed TBH and I think at this point its piling more icing on a pretty darn good cake.
  4. Agree on the AdLibbing. You could tell the cast was in thew home stretch at yesterdays 5pm. Lots of mugging, ad-libbing and ribbing back and forth with the audience AND each other. Having seem the show quite a bit this season it was so cool to see the "real human" aspect of the cast.
  5. It was SO COOL to see the house PACKED yesterday at 5 for Phantom. I had to sit extreme house left - front row since I was running there form the 4:30 Off the Rails (where I ALSO had to sit house left - shows were ROCKING on a packed day yesterday) I'm SO impressed that people seem to be appreciating the effort that went into this this year - give me more of this and I'll take a year or two (or three) off the CapEx train. This park has had a more well-rounded, full family slate of offerings this year than any I remember since the early years.
  6. The show seemed spot on tonight. Maybe the best I’ve seen it look (but no snow -what a tease!)
  7. FFF Continues on nights of 10 pm closes through Labor Day weekend (Sunday) daily showings end this weekend as daily 10 pm closes end.
  8. The new area at Carrowinds seems to be exactly the type of attention that KI should get with Rivertown and Oktoberfest. Both of these areas are perfect opportunities for them to develop along the strategy lines that CF seems to be pursuing: Carowinds Vice President & General Manager Manny Gonzalez said, “Guests can look forward to in Aeronautica is a new way to experience this property from food to the attractions and the theming of the celebration of flying. Guests will be immersed into this new experience.” Gonzalez goes on to say that “The Company has been focused on looking at the areas of the park that we are able to develop a comprehensive way to hit our five senses, as we invest and bring in new excitements… that is what I’m most excited about.” Those two areas seem perfect for the "5 senses" approach. I personally wouldn't care if we got another "major coaster" for another 8-10 years if they had used the 50th as a time to launch a 4-6 year long range plan to "bring back classic thrills and themes, while introducing exciting new and thrilling experiences (flat ride and maybe smaller coaster) as we look to the past to set a course for the future of Kings Island". Then as the core areas (An enlarged and totally themed Oktoberfest, and a revamped and integrated Rivertown, Camp Snoopy, and River City Water Works) come to completion, announce a complete re-work of Old Coney to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the park with a massive new coaster Big Red Machine taking the back area (WindSeeker - Vortex) that completes the "revisioning" of the park.
  9. That’s hilarious! I really think we may be seeing a “version” of shows like this going forward. Seems like WAY too much money in the way of infrastructure added for just a summer run - especially when they are still adding equipment a few weeks before it ends (and only a few days before it goes into weekend only showings) I’d LOVE to see a Winterfest “closing” show, but I think it would be hard with skating unless they did it at the last shift change, but that might be too close to the parade.
  10. Right? And with this addition I think they really need to get back to their roots a bit. Honestly the entertainment at KI this year I would give the edge over DW (how many years can we bring back Dreamland Drive-in?) and with a parade, original stunt show that ties into park history and no “outsourced shows” like Dollywoods bubble show CF is probably getting my pass money next year again instead of our planned swap to DW
  11. Yeah, but my 7yo son who IS the target saw the video after I hyped up the cool story and we called the Ned Oakley hotline and his reactions were…. “Oh I can’t wait to see it go through the woods” “wait,I thought this was supposed to be a “mountain” roller coaster” “does it have loopdyloops? Because if it has loopdyloops I’m NEVER riding it” and finally “ what’s the point of that? It never went into the woods to find BigBear” so…. Yeah-net neutral for him. I just think they totally blew it with the immersive theming. I’m NOT impressed with the direction Hershend is taking their properties here of late. They say they want to compete on a national level with Dis and Uni, yet give us a ride that could easily be at a well funded regional. He loves Mystic mostly for the “what monster do we get?” ending. They aren’t even hinting at more they aren’t showing, so all those people thinking there are additional rocks, cabins, etc for it to go around that they just didn’t put in the digital fly through are probably going to be disappointed.
  12. Not necessarily “bigger” in stats, but at least more effort than plopping a rambling coaster in a field with a “pop up mountain” that doesn’t seem to relate to anything. You have us the longest coaster in the park with nothing g to look at. Missed opportunity for them to really take it to the next level. It’s saying something (bad) when CF creates a more immersive experience (Mystic Timbers)
  13. If only there WAS great theming. It’s a bare coaster with a “mini mountain”. Not impressed.
  14. I-like others have said-would prefer no chains in the park. I prefer a “unique” experience and the culinary team has shown they can step it up. I’d prefer maybe a few “featuring…” type restaurants where the local company pays to sponsor and gets limited branding, but there are more food options than just a LaRosas in a theme park. Like IS pizza featuring mainly artisan flatbreads and more unique ingredient pizzas- and LaRosas cheese and pepperoni more as an “add on” than the sole feature. The signage and interior would NOT be LaRosas (or Graeters etc) but unique name and look with “featuring LaRosas Pizza” on the sign. I hate that we have literally an unimpressive Graeters and Skyline plopped down on IS just like you would see outside the park.
  15. That’s what I’d LOVE. A new Phantom Theatre, the long forgotten crown jewel of the Coney midway is rediscovered in all its decaying glory. Use the Midway mania style ride base with a heavily themed queue and transitions between “acts” of the show with physical props and prop/set animation, then use 3d screen (with “opera glasses”) for the headliners interactive games. Throw roses to Hilda to score points, throw dynamite sticks at Garbonzo to score, etc. I don’t LOVE the shooting aspect, but I think it would be an easier sell than a full passive dark ride. Then boo blasters could become peanuts or MarDGra’s international scavenger hunt using the characters and locations from Carnivale the following year.
  16. The location is the only drawback. It’s just a shame that that end has been so poorly planned and developed over the years. Really wish WindSeeker had gone there in the turn around and they had opened up that whole end years ago. Even doing the restaurant straight at the end. It’s just a wasted cluster of stuff back there.
  17. The Racer turn around would be a great place for new indoor/outdoor dining. Big windows looking out onto the track split. Already has utilities roughed in from Action Theatre days. If they aren’t going to put a fabulous new Phantom Theatre there, then I’d love to see a great new slightly upscale food option there. Even a buffet option. Call it COASTER VIEW or something similar. Maybe take the same idea that they’ve done for the 50th of nostalgia themed dishes.
  18. It’s not in Planet Snoopy. It’s technically in International Street. Look at the pavement. Plus it was in “Hanna Barberra” land and Nickelodeon land before.
  19. That’s one of the reasons I wish they would reconfigure the entrance set up and make Soak City an upcharge second gate. They could use the increased revenue to really invest in the park and make it a quality destination, and control capacity better. They could still offer a substantial discount of passholders want to add it on, but I think the free days should be done.
  20. Love WWC at night. This darn quality closing show keeps my attention every night I’m there till close though. Now that I’ve seen it in ALL its laser, drone, correct firework shell glory, I can switch to mystic and WWC night rides.
  21. Love that you and I have ID’d the same spot. That end of the midway is in desperate need of a makeover!
  22. And that relates to The Bat how???
  23. Show seemed 100 % spot on last night. First time I’ve seen the new lasers and the drones really well. I feel like we officially hit sensory overload lol.
  24. Left and right front exit doors. There’s a “BOILER ROOM” sign pointing that way each side. They are “lighting the way” now to draw attention to it now. I LOVE that it is such an inside thing. You totally would have to know the ride for it to make sense as it’s not even referenced in the show.
