It’s being done chain wide for CF.
-
They’re trying to help us all get our “summer body” ready.

CF posted a net loss of 133 million, compared to SIX’s 83 million in the same quarter. “Record profits” yet CF still took a big L.

Last year the “year round” parks operated at a loss. They made their corrections this year by scaling back those operating days that people weren’t visiting. Remember the excuse was “Bad Weather” and that was an excuse for the shareholders. In reality it showed a total incompetence of the c-suites who made that decision to go “year round” to begin with. I mean what did they really expect the weather to be during those months? Especially when the majority of the parks do not have the infrastructure to provide guests areas of refuge or things to do during bad weather. It’s like they had this whole idea with “year round calendar” that they would operate as a soup kitchen and that would get them the numbers needed. Turns out, people still need things to do between those 4 hour meal intervals. 2 coasters and a couple of flat rides ain’t gonna cut it. They reduced the operating days by cutting those days that operated at a loss. At the same time they didn’t reduce the pricing, which is why they are enjoying “record profits” this quarter. It’s a short term gain, but based off the strategy that they follow there is more growth potential in a year long calendar. The more time a guest spends in the park the more likely they are going to spend money. That is literally the strategy of CF with its “value” priced season passes. Reducing hours and cutting days goes against that model, but then again they clearly didn’t understand the other nuances that keep guest at the park.

Agreed, I would I’d would imagine they would like to have everything ready for when ACE shows up on the 17th. If not, expect Memorial Day weekend being the grand opening.

They also added cold beer to the VIP lounge.
-
That’s because the people who make these decisions don’t actually use the lounges themselves. It’s like when they extended FoF’s queue. It can be 100 degrees outside and they rather use the outdoor line and have hardly any of the indoor climate control queue open. Whoever made that decision too doesn’t wait in lines. And as you mentioned that’s already built in infrastructure that can be utilized to enhance guest experience.

Lean-to’s are a hot commodity right now.

The Coca-Cola refresh might be what is going onto the expanded patio they added next to Chicken Shack. I don’t have a photo of it myself, but it was discussed on Tower Topics at the 31:50 mark:

Honestly that ad is not all that bad for an ad. Horrible would be the entire cars / trains wrapped in ads, or tacky placement in general. This is a billboard which most billboards are ads so it makes sense.

WCPO: Kings Island hints at major new roller coaster with survey
Tr0y replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I believe there is a couple shows that are outsourced and it’s been that way for years. Also the grilled chicken sandwiches were once sold at the Jukebox Dinner? I don’t recall them being popular. -
WCPO: Kings Island hints at major new roller coaster with survey
Tr0y replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I think it’s more noticeable assuming you frequent Kings Island more than any others in the chain. However although my experience in park at CP didn’t seem much different. My experience staying overnight in their hotels was drastically different from the prior seasons. Castaway bay was doing a ride rotation. Some of the slides never opened. Breakers was operating skeleton crews to get rooms ready for guests. Imagine paying 300+ dollars a night and not getting to check in on time because the hotel didn’t have your room ready. **Id also like to add Planet Snoopy at CP appeared as if it was on a ride rotation too. -
WCPO: Kings Island hints at major new roller coaster with survey
Tr0y replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
If I had to pick between 4 rides and attractions to be the next additions at Kings Island it would be: 1) Ground up Titan-track coaster 2) Indoor coaster 3) Log flume 4) ProSlide water coaster What would be your 4 picks? -
So with that being said, it’s likely we’re getting one of those 4 coasters.
-
Misleading title, the 2024 season has only just begun for some of those parks. Cedar Point hasn’t even opened for the regular season?
-
Why even have a survey with options A, B, C or D when all along Cedar Fair intends on picking E?
-
I do have one issue with these "What do you want?" surveys as it shows a lack of creativity going on at Cedar Fair. If guests got to pick, Kings Island would have never gotten Mystic Timbers and Cedar Point would never have got Maverick. I would much rather Cedar Fair come up with its own original ideas and get the best bang for the buck coaster.
