The Scrambler celebrates 45 years of spins and smiles
MantisMan replied to DonHelbig's topic in Kings Island
Rode it last weekend and it was just as fun as it was when I first rode it in the mid 70's. -
The free standard parking is the perk......preferred parking would be an upgrade with additional cost. If indeed they do allow this (never tried myself) I think it would be an additional $7 since if I recall correctly the parking was $15 & $22 respectively. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

The drinks are included in the platters that can be bought by anyone. They will obviously advertise this at the participating establishments via their menus. Have you ever thought that maybe you wasn't supposed to get the drinks included? As I stated above, I had to correct an associate that was refusing drinks to a single day meal pass holder. Confusion does and will occur during roll-outs of new promotions.

The food prices don't really surprise me. It's basically what I would expect to pay at an entertainment venue such as Kings Island. Not saying it's fair, just saying it's what I expect this day and age. -
This is exactly what was told to me on Friday by Guest Services.
-
I don't doubt ya......much confusion.

My understanding.... Single Meal Deal includes an entree, side item and drink for a one time use. All Day Dining Plan includes and entree, side item and NO drink unlimited meals day of visit every 90 minutes. Season Dining plan includes an entree, side item and NO drink 2 meals per visit with a 2 hour interval. There is still some confusion with the staff since I inquired about the plans at Guest Services Friday and was given the above answer and still had to correct an associate at Potato Works that wasn't including the drink for a Single Meal Deal purchase.

Not sure what was up with ERT yesterday (4/26) but the line was backed up to Festhaus seemingly immediately after opening the gates. They had a temporary que line setup near the ice cream stand that was checking for lose items AND handing out height bracelets creating a total bottleneck of the area...sigh. Pretty much a waste of time since we didn't ride till later in the day when the wait was ~20 minutes. And even then, they was still using the temp que (stopping point) causing confusion and AZ congestion since the station was fairly empty and could have handled the crowd much more efficiently. Just seemed odd how they handled the situation yesterday since that was the first time I seen it setup that way.

Well, here is a pic for reference. The wife, daughter and me at her college graduation..... Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread.

Wish I wasn't such an introvert when it comes to meeting new people Based off the pictures I recognized many of you on Media Day but failed at introducing myself. Heck, pretty sure I waited in line with LoraX at one point in the morning. Trust me....I'm not a douchbag (IMO) for not speaking just terribly backwards in those type of situations. So please, if any of you see me at the park come up and introduce yourself.

I can't wait to ride the Giant Noodle this weekend! I wonder if it'll be included with FL or FL+.

Love that name, it's perfectly fitting for this type of attraction. Just not sure where I heard it. Hmmmmm.......

Hope it's running this weekend. I need my big droppy fix!

I haven't had a chance to ride it in many years but will make the trip up this summer and if your analogy is correct.....I am super excited!!

^ Very interesting. Noticed this practice on Media Day after riding The Bat and wasn't sure what was going on. Was leaving the station and another couple asked to continuing riding but was asked to change seat locations prior to the next trip around. I thought that was very strange to say the least but it now makes sense.

Words can not explain how much the wife and I enjoyed the ride and event yesterday......simply amazing. My only complaint was of the 6 trips (5 purple train) the one in the blue train row 6 was a little "ruff"??. It wasn't bad but noticeable compared to the other times ridden that was smooth as butter. Not sure if it was the seat location or the train. Anyway, here is a link to a media article with a video that I stumbled upon today that shows me in the middle of the third row with my black sock hat on.... http://www.cleveland.com/travel/index.ssf/2014/04/kings_islands_new_Banshee_coas.html

6'2" @ 211 lbs is not the same as 5'5" @ 215 lbs.....big difference.

Yes they will be available. I got confirmation via email from the park on that exact question.

I thought the same thing the other day. Turns out it was a shadow of the one already installed giving the illusion of a second tarp.
