I agree, that is nice, when done correctly. Too many times I've witnessed Banshee dispatched with partially loaded trains all due to the fact the attendant did not fill the station in a timely manner. Now THAT, really grinds my gears!

How anybody could find wrong with this, is beyond me. Donations.....+X amount that has ever been raised. Awareness....heard more about ALS in the last few weeks then I have the last 40 years. Education......I don't need to know, that's why I donate to those that do.

I went through the same situation (few posts back). After thinking about how Gold Pass ERT admission is administered, and never seeing any entrance without a Gold card flashed to the officers, I became hesitant of the GR answer from a person that didn't even know what ERT was. Note that I realized only a flash of the card is needed. Either the park doesn't know.....or don't care.

For future reference.....I would advise against such actions. Some people don't take to kindly of physical discipline, especially in a public setting.

Lulz......comparing parks is nothing more than personal preference. This could go on for days For me, KI will always trump any other destination. Why? Because that little park in Mason, OH has something that can never be replicated......childhood memories.

Friction brakes would not stop that train 60 to zero "that fast". Think of a failure like this, at full cycle with that cable,....how many rotations do you think it would take to naturally stop?? The less the better for me. Edit : A tether system on those cables and this thread wouldn't exist.

From my understanding the cable didn't "snap" but came disengaged from the upper locking mechanism. Not sure what type was used on this ride but this type of failure will happen over time if not pro-active. Perhaps a tether as a backup? Along with the friction brakes after e-stop?....that I mentioned earlier in thread.
