  1. It’s not being negative. A pandemic is sweeping the nation right now. Parks aren’t going to be open for a very long time. Industry advisers have hinted at that.
  2. That could be a problem with buckles. Having people buckle seatbelts could be a huge source of spread, if someone with the virus were to touch it.
  3. That’s actually a very interesting question. It all plays into the public mindset after this disaster is done with. The Kings Island crowd of 2019 will not be like the crowd when the park reopens. People will be bringing sanitizing wipes, wiping down tables, seats, and lap bars. It’s going to be an all new GP crowd. That being said, if the Coronavirus becomes a 1918-esque event, you might see it drop in popularity and foot traffic, as what they lived through is more terrifying than a maze. Or it could trigger panic attacks and PTSD for those personally affected by the tragedy. I’ve heard of many stories of people not being able to go to ballgames or fireworks, because they had panic attacks due to surviving a horrific event.
  4. You also have the revoking of the Kings Dominion law (where schools were opened after Labor Day). KD runs daily until early August, so it’s a delicate situation.
  5. Can’t leave it to park’s responsibility when there’s asymptomatic people that have the condition.
  6. They won’t. People will flock to those attractions and bring the Coronavirus with them. The attractions will reopen at once, when everyone is healthy.
  7. Virginia has set a stay in home order until June 10th.
  8. They have to be prepared for second waves though. Parks in Japan are closing because of the next wave. Furthermore, the parks should reopen when the nation as a whole is out of the crisis, not the state. You don’t want someone from a hot spot coming to a park and infecting locals.
  9. NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION! Couldn’t resist, but agree.
  10. So does the fact their converting NFL stadiums into mobile hospitals spark any alarm? This is not a 10-15 day event. This will be a six month plus event.
  11. Yep, Ohio heat and humidity will not kill the virus.
  12. Its not giving up hope, but looking at the bigger picture.
  13. As it now stands, assume 2020 as a lost season.
  14. First operating day on schedule, that’s listed in the App is June 1st.
  15. The Enquirer even mentioned that guests voted for WWC first. I’m wondering who the second US manufacturer was.
  16. That was one of the files. I’m just interested on what the coaster would have been like.
  17. That’s what I was thinking but on a much larger scale.
  18. I was reading a document about the proposals for what eventually became Vortex, and came across a TOGO submission called Cat and Mouse. The ride would have had multiple TOGO Looping mouse race each other through loops and turns. Does anyone have more information on this?
  19. One thing that I think could help our fight against the Virus is population density. The places hit the hardest in America are the urban city regions: Seattle, NYC, Cambridge, Cleveland, SF. Overall the population density is much lower than Italy and China.
  20. I’m just joking. To be fair, campus life is usually like that, including today!
