  1. Hmm, I guess it's early, but I am surprised there isn't any Buy-Out-Days
  2. I went to get the buffet Friday, and just my luck they had a private party up there and it was locked off to the public. Sad goat
  3. I'm just pointing out, just because you are diagnosed doesn't make the effects worse. It will be exactly the same thing it was before, but now you know what the cause is. It's still good to avoid it if necessary. But if you only had a mild irritation before, it will still just be a mild irritation.
  4. To be fair, if you ate gluten before and didn't die, you are unlikely to just because you are diagnosed. I'm diabetic, I ate sugar before I realized it and had problems sure. I eat sugar now and have the same problems. I am just aware of the actual long term issues it can cause now instead of just "my arm gets achy and my vision is blurry, how odd". Moderation is the key to working with new dietary restrictions, if you try to drop wheat straight out, good luck. Trying to find anything in America that isn't A - Expensive, B - Hard to cook, C - Taste terrible all while not having any carbs (or wheat) in it is near impossible. On that note however, the Gluten Free Pizza at Festhaus is actually pretty dang good, though you have to wait about 15 minutes for it to cook, it is always made to order.
  5. I've never seen tripods, but I've seen monopods. They don't specifically call out that you can't bring one.
  6. ProTip: Any open entrance stall can be used with passes. Even the credit card self pay. I've noticed that line completely empty the last two days. Soared up yesterday, checked in, skipped about 5 minutes of lines.
  7. Soup appears separate from M&C, yes tots are a sub. Can't do halfsies
  8. I was hoping they'd discount at least. That's a disappointment
  9. The carousel is a 10 minute wait, if that says anything
  10. Mac and Cheese bar, just like Hank's, only not a burrito. Decent food, but lots of it. You can easily get two small meals on it. You can do half of both macaronis, or tater tots. Can't do half tots and half mac. Classic Mac / White Cheddar Mac / Tater Tots Hot Sauce / BBQ Sauce / Pesto / Alfredo Caramelized Onions, Meatballs, Hot Dogs, Popcorn Chicken, Pulled Pork, Brisket, Sauteed Mushrooms, Tomato, Spinach, Bacon Bits (real), Jalapeno, Chopped Onions, Green Onions, Broccoli, Feta Cheese, Blue Cheese, Parmesan Cheese, Blended Cheddar Cheese
  11. Winterfest food discussion in the general season food discussion, or a new one since it looks like it's all new stuff?
  12. You aren't trying hard enough. I mean there is a Turkey Buffet going on as well.
  13. I'm an super excited that the buffet is in the International Street Restaurant. Even if i do have to pay for it.
  14. Getting rid of all the cafeteria food for German would be a mistake. Offering some on the side would be smart. You can fit two restaurants in that area, make one German. Sausage and Kraut, Potato Pancakes, drunken chicken.
  15. repave, then cover the entire thing is solar shades. Keeps cars from getting stupidly warm, generate a good chunk of power.
  16. My kids like the foam pit, but man is that structure oddly constructed. Everyone wants to watch their kids play, but with the super big slope supports you can't just stand outside and watch, you have to crowd around the entrance and exit to see anything. It was terrible planning.
  17. Not even sure why it would matter. It's the same thing one just had a tortilla. I know at least once this year i got the bowl and a tortilla on the side.
  18. I love to say that any time I see cutting in line. I am so very very tempted to walk through the park asking for directions to Paramount named rides. "Excuse me, can you tell me where 'The Beastie' is?", "Pardon me, I am looking for 'Outer Limits', do you know where it is?"
  19. Yeah, I sort of understand (barely) from a corporate point of view why they do this crap. Really though it is perplexing to me, how hard is it to understand that if you simply hire people there are actually interested in doing a job, and pay well to do it, they will try harder not to fudge it up. If you just pick up any Tom, Dick or Sally off the road and say "hey, are you interested in doing something for a nickle more than we are legally required to pay you?" Then shove them into a kitchen, they aren't going to try hard. If they fail and get fired then they just go to employer #1238012380 who will pay them the same legally mandated minimum to do something else. If you take half that many people, and pay them twice as much, and let them know I have people waiting in the wings for you to fail because I am paying WAY better than anyone else will pay at your age, they may not hustle, but they will at least attempt to keep up. Case in point, if you go to Skyline in Coney Mall and just watch the workers, they are staring at the screen trying to figure out what to make. It takes them over a minute to put an already cooked hot dog, on a pre-sliced bun, cover with pre-heated chili, and set on a tray. There are only three things, THREE things you can order at that place. Cheese Coney, 3-Way, Fries. It should not be difficult. When I worked at Wendy's I had to memorize a dozen different sandwiches, and if I was on drive-thru, I needed to maintain something around 20 simple sandwiches a minute to keep up. Too often does the bottom line over-shadow everything. Pay people enough money to actually care about their job, train them well enough to do that job, and encourage them to do well. Half of our actual complaints about the park is the crappy, crappy, CRAPPY food service. Slow, cold, and uncaring. Anyways, rant over. But why would an outsourcing of food fix this problem? Because those people care about their business. They know they make more money if they try harder.
  20. I for one really miss the giant CRT TVs with a badly positioned plastic sheet over the front allowing the glare to cover 95% of the TV making it nigh on impossible to watch some some of the worst music videos I could think of from 10 years before.
  21. You are eating 100% real vegetarian beef! The cows didn't eat anything other than veggies, that means it is healthier!
  22. Boo Blasters and The Beast could use just some sound effects to maintain a little theme. Just a big speaker either out in the woods a bit or under the loading area that makes it sound like growling or some trees crunching. Boo Blasters should do what Phantom Theater did, a few ghost sounds or orchestra music. Aside from improvements to the line itself, I'd really like to see some kind of "check-in" system for rides. I always thought it would be nice to have real-time, actual wait clocks at the start of rides. A little thing at the start of the line, you tap your pass or something, then you tap again right before you get on the ride. It would give KI a little bit of analytic on ridership, you could award points to people for being frequent riders, you could track how long does it actually take people to get through the line, so you could give a literal "This ride is 24:37 long wait". Stuff like that.
  23. I wish they'd do more with Tower Gardens than a highfalutin smokers' area.
  24. Hmm, my daughter wanted fireworks. Maybe if she isn't terrified right from the start I'll check blood drums out
  25. Do they do fireworks for haunt?
