I thought it was a brownie!

I got the burger last night with the onion rings included. Doesn't appear on the full menu, or menu board, only showed on the Meal Plan list. Was disappointing, onion rings were cold, burgers were dry. Took 20 minutes between the order and getting my food. Slow, messy and crowded.

Ended up going to Hank's yesterday, was kind of a laughable experience. There were two kids working the line, one did cheese and sauce, the other did everything else. I felt kind of bad for how busy they were until I realized they were kind of doing it to themselves. The kid doing rice and beans and meat was placing items in the bowl like it was an art project. Perfectly places, leveled off, smoothed off the top and well distributed. Half the people in line just wanted the stuff in the bowl, but unshakable he continued. The only REAL annoying thing was the manager who just roamed back and forth from the kitchen to the line and didn't bother to help either side. He could clearly see they were behind, but he did nothing to help.

I have yet to go to JukeBox, I haven't had a good experience there in the last 2 years. I'll have to check it out this week.

Don't hesitate to ask for extra cheese. They'll put a 'skyway' to shame.

The twist however is that the top used to be level with the path. Vortex isn't sinking, however the entire rest of the park is sinking around Vortex. So really Vortex is getting taller.

They were actually out of syrup on two of the three machines yesterday around 5. Not popular at all, they should close it more often. Literally the left machine had nothing but water. The middle was out of half of them and either a dumb guest or an ice machine malfunction because the filling area was all ice chunks

On this same note, you know how irritated i get taking a day off work to go to Soak City only for it to be closed because of a light sprinkle? It is 85 degrees outside, I don't care if there is a light rain, it is HOT, i want in the dang water.

Just grab some Montgomery Inn sauce from RHoF.
-
Side note, I finally got around to the chicken. It was delicious, though the corn kind of sucked this time. I really am not a fan of the BBQ sauces they offer.

I asked the lady today how many Bones with ribs and she said 4. Sounds like some people are being lazy. They cut a bunch of sets to three Bones instead of 2 or 4

Is it me or did they change it from an hour to 30 minutes? I can't remember very well.

Seeking advice from parents (for a non-parent)
Stoan replied to Rallyomalley's topic in Kings Island
Not sure this is specific to advice from parents. It's a generally crap situation. Not overly uncommon either from what i understand. I have two girls, both too young to be in this situation. To your points: 1 - it's something you directly shouldn't intervene with. Personally if you butt in as an outsider it most likely would make it worse. Amy just seems more helpless and useless that she needed some random to stand up for her. Any needs to resolve this situation herself. 2 - physical bullying is when you step in. Emotional maybe if the remarks are getting inappropriate to the general public. Loud name calling, curse words and such I'd tell them to shut it if little kids were nearby. But like i said above, you can't step in to help Amy, only to diffuse to general crudeness. If you see the parents of any of the girls you tell them, they aren't randos. However bring the jackanape i am. If Amy truly was left alone with purses while the other girls rode. I'd try to convince her to lock the purses in a locker and walk off. Maybe they'd learn to take care of their own crap. Ps, this probably is the wrong area in the forum -
Sounds like they could theme The Shed to be the various ride "monsters". The Beast, Diamondback, Banshee, Bat, Angry Orchard? They got most of these already. Well two, i keep getting the bats, missing the other endings.

No shows as far as I know are running. I did notice they changed the "I Love the 90s" show to some Country music? No show-boards mentioning Cirque. Dog show still listed, but I am not sure if that is returning I got there around 630. I think I had to wait 10 minutes for Mystic Timbers and 5 for Diamondback. Not so much as a sprinkle when we got there, it felt fantastic out.

Checked out Coney and Reds Hall of Fame. Coney had the ribs. I agree about the ribs, they are very good, but not a meal. Can't really say much that, ribs are pricey, but a third bone would be greatly appreciated. Crust is fantastic, even as late as i went they were juicy, they were quite delicious. Side was corn, which being out of season comes back to price, a third of a ear is comical. Again, i went really late so it wasn't even warm but it was still good, I've always been a fan of grilled corn. Reds Hall of Fame... I AM DEVASTATED. Firstly i got the Red Leg Burger, which is just a bacon burger. The bacon looked and tasted funny. I'm pretty sure it's microwaved bacon, as it didn't have anything to indicate it was actually near a grill. No changes in texture, perfectly flat and unnaturally colored. The burger however was really good, hot, some what juicy, very flavorful. It also includes "onion straws", which ended up being more onion rings, they are substantial and kind of gross looking, i took them off. Overall i enjoyed it quite a bit. My problem however isn't with the burger, they have shortened the entire menu, which led to cutting the only place in the park that actually had hot wings, which then also leads to cutting wing sauce. More than half the reason i liked to go to RHoF was for their spicy garlic and actually hot wing sauce, now they have Frank's Buffalo sauce, and nothing else. They will be sorely missed. *Side note, I'm going to borrow all the pictures you guys have of the meals and attach them to the front post with credits. I'd like people to see the size of the good you get as well as a review. If anyone doesn't want me to use their picture, let me know.

Had the ribs last night just before closing so they were starting to run low. Run had an excellent crust on them, but two bones is barely a snack. And a third of an ear of corn was comical. I actually dislikes both the sauces they offer. The Carolina isn't vinegary enough and the BBQ just tasted like salt.

Hamilton Journal News: Here are the new foods coming to Kings Island
Stoan replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Hush puppies are corn bread based, could be made gluten free. Mac and Cheese however probably not. -
I have also updated the front page of this thread with the list, and hopefully will start getting reviews on there tomorrow. Let me know how tonight goes, I am not even going to bother trying tonight with how crowded last year was.

https://www.visitkingsisland.com/tickets-passes/drinks-dining Scroll to the bottom with the blue FAQs. There is one for "What Meals are available with the Dining Plan?". The list I put out earlier (previous page) was ripped straight out of that section..

Not the conversation for here but, why would park management bashing be against the TOS? On topic however... Most restaurants have a mark-up of around 300%, being an amusement park they probably mark-up again 300%. A bottle of Coke at KI is what 5-6 bucks? A bottle of Coke at Kroger is around 1.50 - 2 bucks. Price of the meal to the customer is around 14 dollars, it wouldn't be out of the realm that they paid around 2 dollars. That includes estimated staffing costs, food, and materials included with the food such as baskets forks and such. As other people have pointed out, while what they pay would be an interesting note, it isn't a useful metric to calculate your value off of it. Most people say "it is cheaper to leave the park and get food", and I would agree, until you start getting 20+ uses of the meal plan. At that rate you start pushing the overall price of meals to around 4.75 each (95 bucks / 20 meals). Unless you only nibble on food, even Taco Bell's dollar menu would be hard to get the same volume of food for a similar cost. As for service at least, if anyone has tried that Taco Bell near the park, they would give "employees that don't care" at Kings Island a run for their money. Which leads me back to my older statement. If 60 chickens gives 120 portions of chicken at Coney BBQ, that is a hell of a deal. I mean it is in no way a big steal, I could get a full rotisserie chicken from Sam's/Costco for 6 bucks. In terms of what else KI offers for their meals, that would quickly become one of the best valued meals in the park (assuming you like chicken).
