  1. Probably not worth the cost to the park but would love to see Planet Snoopy rethemed to Camp Snoopy. This would add more trees and shade as well as transition better from Rivertown to a wooded/camp theme versus the generic theme now.
  2. That's a good point about build up coasters as well. I do think it would look great in that spot too. They could possibly even fit the coaster and a couple small flats like the teacups and tilt-a-whirl and get the best of both then.
  3. Honestly it'd be a toss up for me. I think a coaster like that would be great and fit in well with the area and working for younger kids with the height while still thrilling enough for the whole family. I also feel it would attract more people and give the park a bigger return on investment. However I do feel the a flat ride/ferris wheel package would offer more variety and expand the offerings of the park as a whole. We already have two good children's/family coasters in PS (though a KF style one would blow them out of the water) and a similar style offering on a bigger scale with Mystic Timbers next to it in Rivertown. So overall I don't think they'd go wrong with either option. Better variety with flats, bigger draw/ROI with coaster.
  4. The best part of that would be to see the track passing over the midway there between the two areas. It would be awesome. They could probably keep the track mostly to half that plot as well leaving room open for additional attractions or stuff on the other side behind the Eiffel Tower. And if crossing over there wouldn't likely need the entire Vortex plot to allow another flat or two to be built there as well.
  5. That is technically true for the Powersplash style ride, but there's not really a lot you can do with that. The same thing could be said of all the large flume style ride that came before like Amazon Falls where every company's were the same style and layout. Te shorter ones had the simple oval design with the double down and the large ones like at Cedar Point had a figure out layout.
  6. I feel like that's half true about Cedar Fair just riding the success they had with the kid's area. However, it had just received 3 new attractions the year they acquired it (Linus Launchers, Surf Dog, and Kite Eating Tree), And they did add 3 new attractions in 2015 (Woodstock Gliders, Snoopy's Space Buggies, and the petting zoo). Given what they already had there, including 3 roller coasters, a log flume, family rides mixed in with kiddie rides, and occasional shows, (Plus essentially a dark ride. Boo Blasters is IS but the entrance is basically in PS), I'm not sure what real additions they could really add to build it up a lot more. They have most of the staples and extra stuff. There's only a handful of rides (that aren't elsewhere in the park) that I can think of they don't already have that would fit there. The main thing I could see for an "addition" would be a retheme of Boo Blasters to Peanuts. And unless they take out the stage and barnyard, there isn't a lot of room for expansion. Which might not be a bad thing. Maybe they could add a big Ferris wheel there, a Woodstock tea cup ride (full family size), and a tilt-a-whirl themed to Peanuts. This would also add 3 new attractions that the whole family could enjoy together as well.
  7. I'd love to see what Herschend could do with it. I agree with you that they'd probably be the best to take it.It's too close to HW for the Koch's and KI for Cedar Fair. The issue i'd see with it would be the issues with the fair board. Not sure Herschend would want to deal with that. Plus as you said it would take a lot of work to get it to a level anywhere close to Dollywood/SDC. Just not sure the park and it's attendance make it worth it along with the headaches the Fair board could provide for any owners.
  8. I agree that I don't see a Ferris wheel fitting in at King Island. As stated we have an observation platform with the Eiffel Tower, WindSeeker for a mild attraction with great views, and Drop Tower for a thrill ride that offers high views. To spread out the skyline more, and given that they are family level attractions, if we did get a ferris wheel the main location I could picture for it would be as a new addition to Planet Snoopy. Place it back near the picnic grove. As far as flats I do really hope we get some new ones. As others stated I think this is the perfect time as well since they are fairly inexpensive so it would be a good way to add new attractions while saving money in general. For a big one I'd add a Screamin' Swing. Then add some smaller ones like a tilt-a-whirl or teacups style ride added to Oktoberfest as a return of Der Spinning Keggers. Maybe some new ones could be added in Coney Mall near Vortex's old plot as well. I don't think it's likely but I do like the idea of a sky ride over Coney Mall as well. Could add a station around Vortex's old station and give it similar architecture as a nod to the old station. I'd place the other station around the location of Adventure Express's exit where the ladder game and Coke stand is. I'd theme the station with a Bavarian style and make the ride shared between Coney Mall and Oktoberfest to give the latter and additional attraction. For the queue there as well I'd place a Maypole in the middle with fabric coming off it out to the edges to provide shade and additional themeing element for the land.
  9. A funhouse would be perfect in that area. It would be another thing that would be fun for all ages, potentially escape heat for a few going through it, should have a very high throughput to keep people moving through, and be fairly inexpensive. Plus it would fit the theming great for that section. I do agree as well with the idea of a small museum added as well. Provide a nice air conditioned break on a hot, busy day. Could be some interesting stuff to see and learn about. Just not sure where I'd put it. I think near International Street would be best, but the main spot I could think of would be the open lawn area behind Eiffel Tower and next to International Showplace. But feel it could ruin the view of that area some, but there's not much landscaping recently anyway to be too scenic. If they left BLSC it could potentially block the view of it from International Street if they place it between that and the Eiffel Tower. Otherwise put it in a new themed building in one of the other lands like Rivertown.
  10. I agree. The weather in the fall makes for great days at the parks. The changing leaves look great too. If they even just added some fall decor around it would be fantastic. WE went to Holiday World for their Halloweekends last year and had a blast despite there not really being any haunts. Maybe they could just do a fall themed event and have fall decor, the Peanuts characters, hay bale and corn mazes. Would be something simple and easy to do but allow for distancing still and something extra for the fall.
  11. I wish they would. Would view more as two different credits then and get a different experience on either side. I always loved Recar
  12. That would look great and a log flume would fit well with the Coney area too. Even if they do add a coaster there later love to see a water feature added into there. and even more so if they could extend it into The Beast and get the water around the station and turn out again. I would love to see the park get a Screamin' Swing but not sure about that spot. My top choice would be to tear down the Crypt building, leave the queue in place with the mine theming and alter the outside a bit to fit with a mine. Then have it themed to a mining rig. Rivertown could use a flat or two. If not there it woudl fit well thematically into Area 72
  13. I can see that for some but feel the last few have really upped it. The first ones were all the same. I did still really enjoy Sheikra but think a lot of that comes from the scenery and themeing. If it was dropped in a bare plot of land like most regional parks would have i could understand the sentiment very much so. But I feel Valravn started some great step with adding the zero g roll and airtime hill toward the end that added a lot more to it. And Yukon Striker has a lot of different elements to it (have yet to ride it though). B&M has shown they can be more than just a simple dive and dive loop. The hold at the top of the first drop is amazing and they are photogenic. plus the wide trains allow for a very different feel depending on seat. So as long as the park didn't go cheap and get a very simple design it could still be a great poster that isn't one note.
  14. Kentucky Kingdom definitely has some interesting ride placements. Used to have the separate entrance until they expanded it and now they placement of rides around the outskirts. Kentucky Flyer and Skycatcher are definitely oddly placed currently, even the ferris wheel is kind of on its own to a degree. It is kind of interesting how the old waterpark entrance is in the middle of it now and you can tell that it was an entrance too.
  15. It’s on my bucket list to get there.
  16. It is definitely one of, if not the, most beautiful park I've been to. And I agree that Christmas time there is beautiful. Only been once and it was at that time and we loved it. It looks just as amazing lit up at night as it does with all the scenery throughout the day. The ride selection is excellent. As others have said it's the best regional park for shows too. I usually skip them to get more time in on the rides but we ended up going to 3 shows and enjoying all of them while we were there. I'm almost as excited to return to the park to check out more shows as I am to ride the coasters again. I need to get back to see Wildwood Grove.
  17. I don't see SoB's old area being suitable for it, especially utilizing the station. A dark ride is going to need a strong, solid foundation so to build up enough of a platform around it would take a lot. A flat surface would be much better for it. I still think the ideal spot right now woul be the old Action Theatre.
  18. It would fit the space theme but the ride names used are more ones that would work as project code names whereas Halley's Comet is an actual object. As far as FOF being predicted to go I think it's more that it's proximity to the ride and part o the area it ties into the themeing of the ride itself so they used it. It's more a sign that Invertigo would be next to go to me which many have theorized already.
  19. Can’t wait to ride Orion. It would probably be a toss up between Diamondback and MT for me. Both are tons of fun and very rerideable to me. Other like Banshee I love but are a bit intense to redo a lot. Don’t really have a least favorite either as nothing inherently wrong with any of the rides I feel but if I had to pick (excluding Planet Snoopy stuff) I’d say Shake Rattle and Roll. Think the ride looks great and glad it’s there but for some reason it makes me nauseous when the other rides don’t.
  20. I’m the exact opposite for my favorite. Not sure about smoothest ride but the seat facing down on the lift is my favorite. You can’t see the end of the lift to know how high and just see the ground getting further below and held there looking at the ground before you release. Then on the other side you see the end of the track racing towards you as you go up the hill.
  21. I don’t think it’s necessarily that. The fact that they didn’t give a timeline for it seems to point to saving it for when they can afford. The timing initially seemed a bit convenient for it to have been in development for a year or more, but I’m thinking it’s something planned for the future and they went ahead and announced it now due to the petitions and everything going on so people know it’s in the plans. I don’t see them going cheap on something as well loved and major an attraction as Splash Mountain. I’m just curious to see how it will work at Disney World. In Disneyland it’s right next to New Orleans Square so can fit in there and so boy just change all of Critter Country into a bayou themed area. Maybe they could even change Hungry Bear into Tiana’s restaurant. However, at Disney World, Splash is right in the middle of Frontierland and the bayou definitely doesn’t fit the Western theme of the area
  22. It wouldn't be my top choice but it woudl be better than an empty building. Considering how much our theater was gutted not sure it'd be any easier for them to do versus just something completely new though.
  23. Liking all of these little upgrades to the area along with the new Dodgems sign. I really hope to see this continue in the area leading up to the 50th. Think a good revamp of it and International Street would be perfect for it as they really encapsulate the original park with the main street and its origins with Coney Mall. The main remaining change I'd like to see would be a new model for the Monster, especially a newer one that can load all of the cars at once as that would probably help a lot with capacity. Do some refurb on Racer and new chaser lights all down the midway and it would look great and should be fairly inexpensive and feasible to do.
  24. I could see the holidays theme work well as it would be very similar to what the Smurf's boat ride was like as it went through the different seasons. I tend to prefer an actual story to random scenes but as it would be aimed at kids and families more so I think it would work alright still. I might just keep it focused on the fall holidays as they are the most well known specials and it would allow for more scenes to tell with them. If they tried to do all of them each would only get about one, but could do truncated stories of Great Pumpkin, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. If they wanted to keep it interactive could incorporate "falling leaves" as the targets too since it would tie in with the overall season, though maybe switch it to snowflakes for the Christmas portion.
