  1. I find it a fun ride as well and a great thrilling family coaster. Not sure where exactly I’d place it but it should have gone in Action Zone when it was built. That area had a movie studio themed and the ride had the same theme with you “filming” a scene for the movie as the rides story.
  2. I need to go back sometime and see Wildwood Grove and heck everything out again but want to wait until it can be more normal. Hoping maybe to doa family trip to the area next holiday season
  3. Yea I think it's more a matter that Fall is usually quite busy at the parks, and with CP being busy as of late it just makes sense to go back to this. Wouldn't be surprised if more parks do.
  4. The live actors part was done during Cedar Fairs run as well. I remember going around 2013 and there were 3 or 4 scare actors that would jump out at you or slap their hand on your vehicle in Boo Blasters. It made it more fun as with the rotation of the cars sometimes they could hide where you couldn't say and they made my friend jump in his seat one time. Agree with safety standards I don't see it happening again but it was a lot of fun when they did it. Always heard about the live actors at Knott's for the log flume and calico mine train that they no longer have and wish i could have experienced those too.
  5. I think the thrill level will be alright on ride. It looks amazing and even if it isn't the fastest it will still be fun. Firehawk only got up to 50 so I doubt this is much lower than that. Plus with you flying right by all the buildings and walls it will feel much faster than it is, as well as add to the excitement with all the interactions with scenery. This park has always been on my bucket list as the rides look great and the scenery and theming is amazing.
  6. I think a skyride connecting Oktoberfest and Coney Mall would be great. I would move/remove Slingshot and the ladder game and use those pads for either a new flat (Der Spinning Keggers?) or a skyride station. Think you could rework the marketplace in that spot and put in a new building with a Bavarian style (and rework the outside of Hank's with the same style) that has an market on ground level and skyride station above it, then use the space of the ladder game for the queue line. it would extend then along the Coney Mall walkway to the far end with a station that is in a Victorian style similar to Vortex's old station. These couple changes would help to expand Oktoberfest with two new rides and increased themeing and pay homage to Vortex.
  7. I think taking what they can learn from Busch and Herschend is the best way. Theming and landscaping as Benjamin22 said would both really improve the experience of the parks. Cloned off the shelf rides for cheaper additions to the lower tier parks would be alright too I think if it means they will get some more attention. I feel like parks should try to have their own identity with different offerings, but many of the low tier parks like MA rarely see new stuff so any love to them would be good.
  8. A Skyrocket 2 would be a great addition as well. Haven’t ridden one but they look fun and visually nice.
  9. I would love to see the Killmart building converted into a funhouse as it would fit in perfectly with Coney Mall and be a fun attraction with a good throughout. However, I'm sure the liability is too high and it won't happen. But it might be possible if they limit the type of things in it. Maybe if it was hanging bags, mirror maze, slide, and stuff like that it would be ok versus spinning and sliding platforms that could trip someone up more and kids get fingers stuck in and injured. Would be great if it could still have a spinning tunnel, if not a regular one than one with an elevated pathway through it like Carnevil had.
  10. I agree a modern woodie is what the park really needs. With 18 coasters (counting Pipe Scream as the park does) Blue Streak is their only true woodie and it’s a classic out and back. They could use a good modern twister type wooden coaster.
  11. I think it was a matter of funding for the complex as a whole. There had been a few changes to the project over time and a scaled back version of the complex was announced the start of last year. but now the website for it is gone and has been no mention or updates in over a year. So I think funds fell through or couldn't be acquired and the whole thing got scrapped including this coaster. I wouldn't be surprised to see a version of this coaster eventually installed somewhere but I don't see it happening for awhile with the current state of things. People aren't really looking to drop lots of money especially on a prototype concept.
  12. Think it looks great for the park. Would be a crowd pleaser for sure and as they don’t have a hyper/air time machine this style would be good for them. Looks kind of like a combination of Orion and Fury
  13. I would keep the overall effect the same but have the statues changed to trolls. Have some backstory for the ride about it being a journey through the black forest, but rumors of explorers going missing and whisperings of troll sightings. Is there a link between the two? Just put a few little signs or stuff in the queue and them the station as a train station or something. Have some quick sound effects on the ride and some theming elements for missing travelers and supplies or even a car that has been destroyed by something to build up to the troll encounter for the final lift hill.
  14. The ride would need some retheming but it could be done fairly cheaply I think. Just say that it's a runaway mine train through the black forest or something and change the statues at the end to something from German folklore or something. Honestly Like to see it overhauled a little more and give it a theming similar to Verbolten and rework the tunnels a little. Keep the basics of the ride as is just some theming int he tunnels and more trees planted around. If the trains could be rethemed that would help.
  15. Yea 20 years seems like a pretty low timeline for a major ride and investment like that.
  16. I agree it’s hard to think of a good spot for it but think it could be a good family attraction. With the current skyline and not wanting it to obstruct the Eiffel Tower I’d put it in Planet Snoopy. Ideally I’d remove the stage and petting zoo and do a small expansion there with the Ferris wheel, another family flat and a Gravity Group woodie like Kentucky Flyer or Oscars Wacky Taxi. Then the animal could be moved to a new farm themed area in Rivertown by The Beast and behind the Crypt. Similar theming o what they have on the Frontier Trail at Cedar Point.
  17. I'd be curious what those numbers are like now. More so to see if there's been any change between Dorney and KD, but even more so to see if Carowinds moved past them. Carowinds is their #5 park now and seems to be getting the most attention outside the big 4 of CP, KI, CW, & KBF.
  18. Congrats on the weight loss. Millenium Force does have some tight restraints. So it might be a tight fit. I haven't ridden SV but RMCs are usually tight as well. Others are a little more forgiving and a couple like Raptor I believe have a row with modified seats as mentioned. If i remember my last trip correctly I think a lot of the major coasters had test seats out front so i'd just recommend trying them out and see.
  19. Would to just see some fall decorations up around the park. Not sure how likely it would be because of cutting back and stuff could limit distancing options but adding a cornmaze or something could be fun. We went last year to Holiday Worlds Happy Halloweekends and loved it. That's pretty much the only change from normal was getting to be int eh park during all time and some general fall decor, it's a family friendly event so nothing scary. And we had a great time. The corn maze was a nice addition for the season too.
  20. Actually I could see them run some fabric from the Eiffel Tower to emulate a giant maypole.
  21. Probably holding off on any big announcements right now until they can assess the full impact of this year and would t be surprised if they are making some adjustments behind the scenes to their plans. Either scaling back or spreading it out more.
  22. I was wondering that too. I imagine they bring in a decent bit of profit still otherwise I’d imagine they’d have been sold off or closed already.
  23. Yea ‘my sure they could still improve the look some. The area between Hurler and Storm Chaser full of trees looks pretty nice to me overall. So even just adding more trees around would be a huge improvement.
  24. I don't see KI getting cut back too much. It's still one of their top parks, being the fourth most visited in the chain. I honestly see some of their smaller parks hurting more with this acquisition. Valleyfair, Dorney Park, etc. would like see even fewer additions and changes, or even potentially get sold. The one that would likely be hurt the most would be Kings Dominion as despite being large it is a lower tier attendance wise compared to the other parks. Despite being over twice the size of Valleyfair it actually has a lower attendance than it even. I could see them decide not to invest as highly in this park for that reason and put more funds to maintaining BG Tampa.
  25. I haven't ridden Orion yet so can't fully say but it's tough choice still. Orion looks fantastic and seems like a top tier coaster. I hate to say a 2 for 1 trade is worth it in general but Orion seems better than both. However, I did enjoy both Firehawk and Vortex but they were both a little rough and not super re-rideable because of how I would feel getting off. And most of my friends and family didn't like/couldn't handle Firehawk at all so only really rode it when i had fastpass to get on and off quick. Vortex was a classic though so I am sad to see it go. Think once we have a Vortex replacement it will be fine just hate seeing two taken out back to back, but getting Orion is a good step.
