I found that confusing, as well. This in their only post and they haven't logged back on since. So their sole purpose was to post a snarky, nondescript comment over your Tower Johnny article? Strange.

Does anyone know how that Vortex rumor got started?

Three decades of Ohio weather? It would be in the earth's core by now.

I study film, so I'm aware of this. (The same is true for IMAX, as well.) Though better than 3D conversions, I still found legit 3D to be "hazy," as Shaggy put it. To me, the effect reminds me of those lenticular cards that came with the Independence Day and The Lost World VHS releases. It just feels artificial compared to a good ole' fashioned 2D shot with genuine sense of depth and contrast. But that's just me. However, what got me excited about Avatar was the rig James Cameron used to program cinematic shots and camera movements in a virtual world. Seeing footage of it in action really blew me away at the time.

This has been my experience with 3D. I hate when it is tacked onto IMAX, an otherwise incredible theatrical experience hindered by a subpar novelty. However, I did enjoy the D-BOX/motion simulator on Days of Thunder and I would like Action Theater to house some kind of permanent attraction beyond Urgent Scare.

It makes me wonder if that might change. Even though the blueprints were obtained legally, I can't imagine the park is happy about this and I'm sure to some degree this will change the way they do things in the future. I think the best thing for them to do right now is lean into it. They could totally drop the whole "We don't comment on speculation" act (Zzzzz!) and start aggressively teasing this thing (or at least its theme). I wouldn't be surprised if they announced it a little earlier than planned. Do they have Montel on speed dial?

And all this time I thought someone in Paris just really loved Kings Island.

A coaster that interacts with both would be interesting. My thought is they could demolish SOB's station, route a queue under Banshee's supports, and place a station further down.
-
I've been wondering about that. It seems like the logical place for an upcoming coaster. But the spaces between The Bat, Banshee, and AE are tight, where would it start? It'd be nice to see a significant portion of The Bat's queue overhauled and I imagine that would mean our last remnant of SOB would have to go, as its station takes you right into Banshee's supports.

For the name, I'd prefer something that matches the area's theme (Orion) and/or has significance to the park/Cincinnati (Shooting Star).

They need a "single riders" line for the food lines. Seriously though, the cutting has been ridiculous this year. I had to tap the shoulder of some kid who not so slyly cut my mom while she was in for the Rivertown Coke station. "I tell ya, no respect!"
-
Meanwhile, at the Helbig residence.. "Dad, you're so unexplainable."

The VR thing has always seemed odd to me. You'd figure the view from a rollercoaster would be spectacle-enough.

I've heard that while the pond looked great when The Beast debuted, it was subsequently filthy as guests were using it as a waste basket. Considering the bracelets, game cards, and as of this year, a shoe (?) gracing the tops of certain structures on both The Beast and Diamondback, it is not hard imagining that being the case.
-
My guess is the ride would still have a name that could also serve as the "project name" in the theme's backstory. (For example, "Project Orion")
-
Edit: Umm this is awkward, I posted that in the wrong thread. So, how about those taters?
-
Looking at the plans, the station looks like a military hangar. If they keep the Area 51/UFO theme on FOF, then perhaps "Project X" is the new aircraft (spacecraft?) built from that technology?
-
The new building will be a Coke Freestyle station. Open..... But without access to the public.

They removed the gift shop from Banshee and Mystic Timbers doesn't have one. With a lot of the same merchandise being offered at other gift shops in the park and the necessity of employees to man the shop (in addition to having one at the ride photos kiosk), I wonder if they are doing away with that altogether. Although, correct me if I am wrong, but Coney Mall doesn't have a basic gift shop at the moment apart from Coney Confections, which mostly only sells candy, right?
-
They're busy in a board room meeting with Mike Koontz, other members of park management and... the Eiffel Tower employees.
-
On the ride up, some guy asked the employee about it, and they said, "They don't really tell us that stuff." Why do people keep asking the Eiffel Tower employees (or ride ops, etc.) about the next ride? Are they the eyes and ears of Kings Island? And more importantly, will the Dippin' Dots guy be angry "the Eiffel Tower employee" is moving in on his turf? Tune in next time, same The Bat-channel, same The Bat-time.
-
They should just have a bartender in the queue.
-
It is possible, but Back to the Future: The Ride debuted a couple years prior to the first Action Theater and was being designed as early as 1988/1989, during the production of the second and third films of that series. Even as someone who rode BTTF:TR before Action Theater, I had no complaints with Days of Thunder. I liked the experience.

Could it have been a case of mishearing or abbreviated annunciation on the PA's end? As ghostguy said above, under the proper conditions, "Royal" can sound like "World."
